Need a third option in that poll - Two shortened games crammed in on soggy fields Saturday - cancelled Sunday, Concorde states their refund policy is two games guaranteed or your money back - two games played, Concorde pockets the fees, recycles the medals for next year - rinse lather repeat . . .

They have to give FULL refunds if they don't get two games in. So they'll play. They may be 5 minute halves or straight to shootout but you know they'll get those two in Saturday to avoid losing money.

Fields will stay wet all day today. Too cold to dry up.

That's the problem with the pre-season tournaments, no club or county wants them torn up right off the bat. I think the only reason UFA allowed play on Fowler during their end of season monsoon - I mean tournament - was that it was end of season and those (already crappy) fields would have several months to dry out and be repaired before spring season.
What fields is Concorde using - if they're Cobb County fields, highly likely they won't be allowed to use them. Doubt Metro North will be used either.

ashford dunwoody fields GSA lilburn Metro North Georgia Soccer park rabbit hill Two of those five venues are in poor shape year around anyway so playing on them this weekend won't make them worse. We played last weekend and Concorde canceled all the Sunday games. I assume they will try to get in at least two games this weekend as well.

Concorde needs to decide today. My childs grandparents from out of state are coming to watch. They are in Alabama so quite a drive. They aren't coming unless the tourneys on. I hope they decide soon instead of 6 am Saturday. That's not acceptable.

ashford dunwoody fields GSA lilburn Metro North Georgia Soccer park rabbit hill That is a very wide geographic area - I'm betting they're scrambling for fields right now. Again - why don't these tournaments ever use the new turf fields in Roswell or does the city not allow it? There are two turf fields at Waller Park, two at East Roswell Park and at least 1 at Roswell Area park - although parking at East Rosell and Roswell area would be a pain. So many high school games need to be rescheduled I doubt they can get a high school field either and since none of the Cobb fields (Mud Creek, Tramore (swamp) or Noonday) were listed, I doubt they are even available. And I seriously doubt NASA will allow Metro North to be used - they used to close those in a heartbeat for games/practices when we were there. Those back fields there won't drain for days - even if the sun did come out in full force tomorrow. My backyard is a wet mess right now - I can only imagine what some of those fields look like.

Thats too late for out of towners. They have to cancel 24 hours in advance to avoid paying for a room they don't need.

6:07 and no new info. I've been told GSA is a no go and NASA doesn't want fields torn up. When will we know? Five years ago we found out at 7:30 am they cancelled. I wouldn't put it past Concorde to wait until 9am tomorrow but I also wouldn't put it past them to find any way humanly possible to get those two guaranteed games in then cancel Sunday for field condition reasons. It's really too bad how horribly they manage their communications about this tournament - I know Concorde cannot control the weather but they need to communicate better - especially since they are one of very few tournaments locally these days that will draw a good number of out of town teams. Makes it a better tournament for us locals to get a chance to play teams from other states in our own - albeit soggy - backyards! One more burning question - Concorde has the reputation for being one of the 'richest' clubs in the area - why the heck haven't they turfed some fields for their own use? Does Concorde even have one single turf field? All the venues they use or where we've played them in the past years are grass. Makes not sense that they don't invest in some better facilities.

2-27-2015 @ 6:58 pm The Challenge Cup Committee has delayed the start time for the first game on Saturday until 10 am. There will be a new schedule for all Saturday games and those should be available online today after 8:30 pm. Please carefully check the schedule for time AND venue updates. A couple of venues (U10 and U11) have been changed for the safety of our players. The schedules will be taken offline for a time to update them and they should be back online by 8:30 pm. Read the entire weekend’s schedule carefully for all games so you are reporting to the correct venue at the correct time. Games will have 25 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.

Those attending games at the Ashford Dunwoody fields will be pleasantly surprised that they re-turfed fields 1-4 (the right side entering the park). Last time my oldest played there the fields were practically dirt so I was happy to see beautiful new grass. The rain drained great on them too so last week was no problem. They probably could've held Sunday games there but I'm sure the rest of the venues fields were a muddy mess based on past history at the other fields. Of course I was so sure they would cancel last Sunday that I didn't even look closely at my kids scheduled game time nor the results from the first two games. Had a feeling Concorde would've had staff hold umbrella's over each player on Saturday if needed to get 2 games in. 500 teams plus $400 equals $200,000 and that is a conservative estimate.

Sooooo? Any one have teams that played today? How were the fields?? We hosted a G and F course at Bethesda and the fields were still pretty soaked and muddy so I'm sure GSA & Metro North were too.
