soccermom - I'm sorry I should have waited. It's all fine now. I talked with our coach again. He said we are going to take the whole team to another club. IM can keep his Champions League. We are going to keep Georgia Soccer and Classic divisions that do not include Cartersville, Savannah, Valdosta, and Blue Ridge. So your club coach just told you that the whole team was going to leave a club for another club (himself included)?!?! Wow! Does that sound like a recruiting violation to me!!

Update - My coach says CF, GSA, NTH, SSA, and UFA all told Georgia Soccer officially today that they were pulling ALL teams out of all Georgia Soccer divisions. That includes all Academy, all Athena and all Classic teams.
All because Georgia Soccer countered against the creating of Iggy's Champions League. Like a spoiled little child, he got mad. And the rest joined him.

@oraclefriend - Well I don't think it will be a recruiting violation because UFA has pulled out of Georgia Soccer.

Every Georgia Soccer club will be able to pull in any of the teams from CF, GSA, NTH, SSA and UFA. Recruiting rules are not going to protect clubs that are no longer part of Georgia Soccer.

But they haven't pulled out yet. They are still playing games in GA soccer right now so if I am a judge in a court, you and your coach lose. He spoke to you about it before 14 days prior to tryouts.

The real question before this announcement would have been...had the big 5 3rd/4th place team won A/I and qualified for RPL/Piedmont...would they have accepted or declined it. Were they to accept the invitation it would nullify their reasoning for creating the SSCL since they are letting one of their teams join and be part of the poorly run system and would be a more transparent exclusivity/ cash grab situation.

that is a really good question. UFA has always been about the money.

May I suggest chaining yourself to the polo fields Porta Potty with a big sign stating your grievances. If you do this naked you may well make the headlines.

I get your anxiety. Mine isn't on DA or ECNL. My younger one is still academy ages so that doesn't matter. All academy games are scheduled by the club anyway. But one thing that I have learned over the years is not to panic. You have 6 weeks to find another club if you decide AFTER announcement that it is what you want. If it really is CF, NTH, GSA, UFA, and SSA that all pulled out ypur worry about playing teams from classic 1 to 5 levels isn't reasonable. There are plenty of teams in those 5 clubs to play each other locally with teams of like ability. Like the others said, don't panic. Take a deep breath. Wait and see. You can't really lock down another solution today anyway.

wow big clubs are shooting themselves in the foot. I hope the smaller clubs are ready for the influx of players. Maybe they can rent field space from the big six.

Ego and hubris. Good boards would not allow it. But most clubs have bad boards.

Which administrator thought this whole thing up and was too pridefull to change their mind when they realised it was a stupid idea? That guy should be fired.

The new Champions League will now include: Concorde Fire White GSA South White NTH NASA Royal SSA Select Gold SSA Select Green SSA Select Red SSA Savannah Blue SSA Select White UFA South Georgia UFA Mountains White UFA White Look, I don't know what age group your kid is in or how those pairings were figured out but if it were to happen to my kids age group the entire group of teams that would be involved in this would be as follows: Tophat navy, white, blue, white QP and white MN (that is saying they drop the gold team name which they usually do when they have both DA and ECNL at an age group), possibly Tophat Sharks (aka LSA) GSA south premier, North premier, South red , North red UFA premier, red, gold and possibly black (depending on numbers leaving/coming with this mess and the DA), Norcross premier and South Georgia (provided far away parts of the club are added) Concorde Central black, white, North black, West black and South Black SSA elite (unless they somehow plan to get around the RPL thing), premier, select black. Select blue, select white, select gold 1 and 2, Savannah??? That is 30 teams. If what you think is happening actually is happening...that is still a lot of teams to play and make fair and decent brackets. Personally I was not for the Champions League idea and certainly think it makes a mess of things to have these 5 clubs pull out and who knows what happens to AFU...but I will still suggest you wait to see if what one coach tells you is actually true. Especially with your pairings you put above. Seems a little premature for them to announce the brackets when they haven't even made the announcement at all.

I suggest evey concerned parent email your congressman, sorry I mean your club and ask them what’s really going on etc. Clubs needs to get in front of this one for sure. Don’t forget the snippet SoccerMom said “.NPL is switching to a 20 game league, so NPL will take priority over Champions League”. The super y exclusion here is really odd. Maybe Georgia Soccer sees it as a recruiting tool?

UFA said 1st team will play in DA, 2nd team in NPL, 3rd team in Champions League and the rest will be dumped in a pool of CF, GSA, NTH, and SSA teams.

Georgia Soccer tells Iggy that he is out of RPL and he responds by throwing a temper tantrum and removing all UFA teams from Georgia Soccer. Now all the UFA teams are stuck playing a terrible league that will be managed by people that have no clue how to run a league. The stupid part is Iggy's move didn't get our teams back into RPL. All he got us was all UFA teams out of RPL, Athena, Academy and Classic. Not well thought out.

All he got us was all UFA teams out of RPL, Athena, Academy and Classic. Not well thought out. You really hate Iggy, don't you? It is my understanding that all of the big 5 clubs WANTED out of RPL. They were not kicked out by Georgia Soccer. They felt RPL was a waste of time and travel and was POORLY run. US Club soccer runs ECNL so what makes you think this league will be run "by people that have no clue how to run a league." As I said before I did not want the Champions League and I surely did not want all of the big 5 teams out of Athena and Classic, but the vitriol you are putting into your posts is a bit much. I guess you feel betrayed. If you don't like it, do what Soccerhouse mentioned and tell the club. Exercise your right to leave and go somewhere else if it is no longer the right fit for you and your child. I hope the info you have is accurate though because you will look like an idiot if it isn't. As for CF and TH 1) we don't know that they both will keep both DA and ECNL as there are still rumors about that 2) they have many more teams that will also be affected. Tophat has 4-5 teams aside from their DA and ECNL teams on the girls side. Concorde does as well. There are a lot of kids in 3rd, 4th, 5th teams and secondary locations that will be affected by this if you are correct in your info. Btw there are other states that have this type of structure. The sky is not falling.
