Too close to call with that camera angle and the time resolution of the video. The movement is faster than one second intervals so you cant really tell. That being said, when I was watching the game online, I said out loud to no one in the room with me, "he's off". So I think he was off but I'm not in charge. And I'm definitely not going to deny the Silverbacks a goal! ;-)

2. Santi Cazorla was an absolute BOSS in midfield. Man City could not get the ball from him. He was like some high level demon. Very impressive. He seemed to be playing more of a holding role. Interesting. The Gunners can do this because of their depth of attacking midfield talent. SANTI!!! I really enjoy watching him do his thing and when he is ON he is ON!

Way to go boys and Coach Gaucho!! Having known many of these boys in their younger years, they are indeed some excellent athletes and have grown into fine young men!

Pinoe is still our best player. Not even close. Hope's time has passed I'm a big fan of Rapinoe. She's just so much fun to watch. And when she plays things happen.

Highlights from this match are on US Soccer (I watched via Facebook). US seems to have had a lot of scoring opportunities (that's what the highlights were showing anyway...). Didn't see many shots from the Chinese team. (Wasn't really counting, maybe 3 or 4 shots including the goal during the 5.5 min highlight video).

Athena C - Savannah plays all about their striker. She is quite skilled. Very disciplined team. I'll show my hand here - UFA Dawson kept her scoreless. The game was decided on a PK. That was the only goal, although both teams had goal scoring opportunities. Last week's game between the 2 teams was a very good match-up and great to watch. Both teams did their homework and the game really should have ended in a tie. Great battle!

My take on MLS - Take the esteemed traits of your favorite NFL players (size, strength, bravado, etc) and create soccer teams with these people to attract the fan base we have here in the USA - biggest, meanest, noisiest athletes are the best - so that commercial sponsors can sell their (insert product here) and make money. (Aside - I don't care that corporations want to make money).
That being said - at least people are watching / attending soccer matches.
Anyway - what I'm saying is the current sports paradigm in the USA is not "finesse" but more brute strength (how far can you hit that home run ball? how hard can you check that guy into the boards? how high can you jump for that dunk? how fast is your tennis serve?). Kinda hard to "dance" with the ball if you are built like "The Rock". ;-)
Edited - I just watched the LA Galaxy - RSL highlight post. There's your name player - Robbie Keane feeding beautiful assists all night. FINESSE! :-)

What a bummer indeed!! I hope some things Zizou suggested can keep her spirits and skills up. Let her know all her invisible friends are cheering her on!

Disclaimer - I'm a TM and I'm NOT lazy but I am a bit grouchy today. ;-)
I do what my coach tells me to do because it's his team - not my team.
I believe the KIDS will target each other if things get heated. As was said - "everyone knows everyone" and I can assure you as the parent of a mid-field player and a keeper they DO get targeted. Ask your kids in an open conversation. Don't lead them - just let them talk. Or better yet - listen to them talk to their teammates when they aren't aware you are around. (good luck with that part... being near teens without them knowing) At this age (13+) they are completely aware of the rivalries and the "players." And they ALL want to win. And they are, no matter what level of play, STILL kids and make all kinds of decisions - good and bad. Heck we adults make bad decisions all the time.
That rant being over - let's be real - most of these kids aren't going on to play where it's so important to keep the stats we are talking about. And the ones who are the closest to actually playing at that level are already keeping their own stats. And I'm sure the kids scoring goals remember them very well. It's exciting! (as are the saves!)
/end rant (more coffee being consumed to oust the grouchies!)

I'm guessing Team Managers got the email.
======================================
All - we have implemented the tracking of yellow cards in our scoring system based on the below rules and regulations of Georgia Soccer Youth competition. What this means is when the 3rd yellow of the season is entered into the system as required by the rules, the player will automatically be suspended for the next scheduled and played match. The next match must be played and scored before the suspension will be removed from your game day lineup sheet. We hope to have rule 732.8 implemented by spring 2015. Until that time, it is incumbent on the teams to follow the suspensions of all players. If a game protest is filed regarding the use of an ineligible player based on accumulated yellow cards, the rules are very specific and if the game protest is upheld, the game will be forfeited. 732.8 Any player receiving 3 cautions in a playing season will sit out the next scheduled and played game for the team that he/she is rostered to under US Youth Soccer affiliation and competition. Player is ineligible for participation in the Georgia Soccer Youth Club Pass System until the suspension is served. Failure to serve the mandatory suspension will result in a forfeiture of any and all games played while the player was ineligible. Additional sanctions to the player or the coach may be assessed by the D&P Committee if deemed appropriate after a hearing.
732.8a In addition, the player shall sit out the next scheduled and played game when 2 more cautions are received. The player will then sit out the next scheduled and played game each time an additional caution is received. Player is ineligible for participation in the Georgia Soccer Youth Club Pass System until the suspension is served. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you, Kim Bowen Director of Programs Georgia Soccer

Apparently this is starting to being enforced in the system. Today we are playing a team with a player with 3 yellow cards and he is noted as a red "S" in the game card column - assuming he's suspended for today's game. I checked the cards list on GA soccer and indeed he has 3 yellows.
