I think the Concorde ECNL 05G Premier Team can beat the NTH 05 DA Team

It would likely be a good game. Good enough to demand a best of 3.

I think the Concorde ECNL 05G Premier Team can beat the NTH 05 DA Team Maybe last year (it was a shame that they weren't playing each other last year in league play), but Tophat got even better this year. The only game that Tophat lost ALL season was a game against another DA team played in horrendous conditions due to wind and horrific fields and the opposition had some help by crappy officiating. I don't think that Tophat would lose to Concorde /SSA this year. Could SSA/CONCORDE beat them? Probably, but I don't think they would. Concorde lost to GSA twice, lost two other times in league play, drew Tophat ECNL twice and also lost showcase games.

Great board. Love the discussion in a professional and civil manner. Question would be how are folks coming to a conclusion as to how the team rankings are formed? With all the leagues, how do you compare apples to apples?

At U13G, I've seen about 75% of the top teams play in basically apples to apples.
For U14G, it's safe to take the top girls teams from top 3 leagues, of those, NTH has has the most impressive run. But DA is so exclusionary that you cannot compare those teams apples to apples. No common opponents.

Is there any truth that some of the ecnl teams have been able to compete with the DEA girls groups? I saw some discussion on that recently.

Lots of holes to fill... sounds like for boys folks were leaning to SSA 05s for the 14s, but not heard that finalized. how bout the 15s? does that one go to AU? 16s - concorde ecnl? I know I can’t be the only person on this forum to chuckle anytime KSA of any age group is mentioned with rarified greatness. A number of prior KSA 01 parents have knowingly laughed when I asked them about the age rumors. Each of them said it is one of the reasons they left. Apparently losing playing time to older players rubs people the wrong way. Regardless, there is no way the 01 team (u18) is better than any of the three u19 DA squads or GBs ECNL team that is leading the Southeast conference with a +32 differential. Yes, this is there is a running joke involving KSA and missing birth certificates. However, you have to give credit to the KSA 01 team. I saw them play multiple times last season and they were VERY impressive in National League. If I recall, they beat both AU U17 and U19 in a spring showcase last year. I don't think they lost any games in that showcase and they played the U19s after playing two abbreviated games earlier that day. Again, not saying every player on that team is above board regarding age, but they could have easily been considered a U19 team and still been one of the best.

They deserve credit for winning games, but to make claims based on a showcase is poor logic. There is just no serious way they can be considered above the three current u19 DA squads. I have not compared their roster to last year, but I am pretty certain they lost a number of high quality players. Additionally, they haven’t even played against teams from the biggest clubs in GA, which made up most of the GA representation in SRPL/RPL two years ago. My intention is to limit this teams hyperbole based on one questionably aged player. AU’s u19 DA is stacked; by far the top u18/19 team in GA.

It would likely be a good game. Good enough to demand a best of 3. I have a great idea. We should have a State Wide competition with all the teams in Georgia and call it the State Cup. Played in the Fall with Fall team rosters. Only addition of players come from lower level teams at same club.

Wish I got a chance to watch them this year - team ran through everyone last year. Really had some quality kids on that team. Word was Deedson had turned down a homegrown offer last year. I hope some of those other kids are getting exposure because that’s kind the point of this thread. Just look at the exposure difference between UFAs 17s vs AU - really no comparison, AU wins hands down. But man that UfA team can play and play as a team - a thing that clearly is not appreciated anymore. However UFAs 17s have 3 to 4 really special players that I think the difference is they play pissed off like they always have something to prove. Love that. I’ve heard parents of 11 year olds basically tell kids don’t worry about the team it’s about you as an individual - they say treat it like tennis or golf, it’s all about the individual....it’s about what is best for you..... That attitude might be fine at u17/u19 but not for younger players. .

Respectfully. You may have all lost your minds collectively as a parent group. And so has the moderator of this forum who started this thread. Who cares about what youth team is any good? All about the player - not the team. Teams don’t make it to the pros or NT - players do(IDP). And most YNT players never make more money playing football than flipping burgers. I was one of them. In Europe. This from a parent with a kid on a team most of you all rank #1 for an age group. Please - just stop You do know adding the word "respectfully" doesn't mask the fact that you're about to be very disrespectful? If you believe the moderator and the entire forumites have lost their mind, there is one way to guarantee you're not subject to shizat(your word) like this any more... LEAVE or better yet, don't read the postings. I personally don't read or try to partake in discussions about best teams or best leagues. I think it doesn't accomplish much other than give the extremists on the forum a chance to pontificate and belly ache about things that are about as close to settled law as it gets. Will you have the odd anomaly, yes. But truthfully, if that is what folks want to do, leave them be.

Sooo, you're just going to skip over my first statement to try to make your point? I said that I saw them play SEVERAL times last season in National League not just that showcase tournament. There's really only one reliable method to compare teams and that's head to head records which is what I did. By the way, NL has some quality teams and many would be DA level if it were offered in their location. I also saw the KSA 01 team play NL games this fall which technically is still the 2018/19 season so my statement still applies to current teams (if they were still a team). Just so we're clear, DV is only one player. Is he a special player and a difference maker, yes, but it takes 11 on the pitch to win games. That team was solid at every position including keeper (played 1/2 a season at AU). They always played with a chip on their shoulders because they were typically under dogs. Unfortunately, I'm not sure of the current roster on that team since many players have graduated and "aged out" (pun intended). But as you said, hyperbole, this is all this discussion is since that team will never play the current AU U19s or any other top team in GA before the end of the season.

Sounds like you didn't get enough hugs as a child. This isn't the NCAA playoff selection board. No one wins anything by being crowned #1 here. However, as much as some of us have shelled out to play "high level soccer" we can at least enjoy a little "who's the best banter". I see nothing wrong with making sacrifices so your child has a better opportunity. If that means driving an extra 30 minutes, paying an extra $3K for travel, or sacrificing other interests for better competition that's everyone's prerogative. Who are you to judge and why do you care? Who knows how far little Messi and little Mia will get with the sport, but the point is they're having fun which is something I think we lose sight of too often by making it "serious". It's still just a game. Of course none of our opinions mean anything but I do find it interesting what the consensus is regarding teams at each age and gender. We all have our biases based on team/club/age/gender we typically watch. But I think FG is right, it's about as settled as law when it comes to these kind of posts ;-) Don't mind me... carry on.

Sorry. I won’t be a grinch or crush dreams “respectfully” ever again. I just learned a valuable lesson re online interaction and will from now enjoy this forum as a spectator versus a contributor. Please continue to contribute.
Your salient point about the player vs team is actually spot on IMO, less the comments about the parents and the moderator.

This post would be moot if there was a single competition that allowed any team of any level to enter and thur champion be crowned best club team in the state. Thankfully HS has this.

Their recent performances against GSA and CF(Muller's team) shows that their boomball and aggressive style of play may be to their detriment when they are playing against skilled/technical teams. If they couldn't beat the TH ECNL team, not sure why anyone would think they would be any competition to the TH DA team?? If anything, I think the team that has improved the most at this age group is that GSA team that has slowly but steadily showed promise. That's the team I would like to see to play against TH - although I will still bet my money on TH.

That would be great if all of the teams (SCCL, DA, ECNL, NPL Etc. could compete at the state level) - why isn't this an option? Could it oneday be an option? All of this would completely be a moot point. Even at the high school level we wouldn't know who the best of the best will be because you have girls who play DA who can't play in HS and you have some ECNL girls who won't play because they fear they will get hurt by a player who comes from rec and has no idea that you have to tackle the ball before the player. We are definitely screwed in the alphabet society.... I will just sit back, drink my beer and let everyone argue over who is the best

I just think it would be really cool. Start the tourney in the fall with all the teams that want to play with a group stage and then advance to single elimination round. or take the top 4 locally from ecnl, npl, sccl and DA and then have a few wild card options for ga soccer teams. bam done
it would make millions of dollars.....I even see espn+ picking it up.

Give Muller 3 or 4 new starters from the upper age group and I think it would be very competitive to be #1. Heck, they came in 2nd without these kids.

Oh fridge - I'm in no way discounting Muller's team and I can't imagine how difficult it was to lose some of his best midfielders and GK in the state and he still managed to stay relevant in the standings this year. He can thank GQ for that mess!!! However, this is clearly a testament to his coaching and his ability to maintain consistency in the midst of the turnover. The facts are there and I'm not disputing that he did well, I was just saying that GSA has improved greatly (which is a good thing). We have a lot of talent between SSA/CF/TH/GSA and we have enough talent just in GA to compete nationally if we stopped playing the alphabet game. The 06 CF team will suffer the same fate this year the way muller's team suffered when they dropped DA. Question is, will they play for TH or UFA and will the 06 CF be as successful as Muller's? We shall see.

I agree, their boom ball style is quickly wearing off in the rankings. They lost in Disney and in Jefferson Cup if I am not mistaken. Recently, they lost/tied to teams in the lower ECNL rankings of the age groups. So, yes DA TH 05 would beat them.

Why wouldn't the coach schedule that game this spring: TH's 05s scores from this spring! - 3-2, 3-1, 3-1, 14-1, 6-0, 6-0, 5-2, 5-0, 5-0, 4-2, 4-3, 2-3, and 5-1! only once scored less than 3 goals a game! Actually across the entire year, only scored less than 3 goals twice -- one was a 0-0 tie with FC Dallas, the other 2-3 loss to oakwood.

I wouldn't say GSA was the better team because they beat them twice. Kudos to them for figuring out how to play several players deep and if I need to quote "play boom ball" themselves because they NEEDED a result in both games to place 4th in the league. Premier had already clinched 1st in the league with 5 games left to play. They all played the same exact teams the same amount of times so I can't imagine a better barometer of "who is better" than the league standings. I do think the amount of upsets, ties, and surprising scores across the ECNL league shows it is a more competitive environment than DA. Not saying Tophat 05 DA isn't a great team and likely best in the state. Unfortunately we will never know. But if you are beating teams 16-0, that team shouldn't be in the "best" league.
