Let’s see how day three results line up the teams for next rds Just curious if the group of players on the KSA Pro Profile 01 and 00 state cup teams are the same group of players that people in this group claim to be the best single teams in their age groups in GA, regardless of league. For instance, did a handful of players from either team end up playing elsewhere - DA tournament? gaprospects can probably help! haven't seen this team play this season nor have I watched much of AU's 19s.

If I recall didn't ecnl come out with language that coaching would be more of a "team" effort and multiple coaches would be assigned to a team? For DA at the non-AU clubs on the boys side (correct me if I'm wrong)- its really just one main coach per team at training sessions. rarely are their multiple coaches coaching a team during a training session. --- This has to change for DA, should be a requirement to always have 2 staff members present and coaching, especially at the younger ages. Sorry. I was responding to a claim that college coaches (or scouts as it was referenced) were not either attending ECNL events or, if they were, they were on their phones disinterested.

There were US GNT scouts at the ECNL showcase in Greer earlier this month.

The team to watch this season is going to come from (surprise) TH. The 08 team is going to be fire! They r getting the best of UFA NORCROSS AND Forsyth, plus pieces from GSA, SSA and CF. 2008 really, is this the ufa coach that created a whole lot of buzz and brought out some ugliness on the forum? I thought it was another team he was having issues with? anyone have an insight why he is losing players? curious how they do next season.

You are correct, it was the 2007 team that coach is no longer coaching. The 2 girls leaving that Norcross team are a few of his “pets” but those kids/parents are like mercenaries always looking for better. This move to tophat will now be their 3rd club and they are only 2008.

KSA 13s, 15s and 16s advanced too on the boys side so not too shabby for a small club.

This is my least favorite thread of all times. High on speculation and extremely biased. Just spot the ball and let these kids square off ...

This is my least favorite thread of all times. High on speculation and extremely biased. Just spot the ball and let these kids square off ... that would be too easy -- I've heard stories of some non DA sides not wanting to scrimmage DA clubs our of fear of having players poached....AU is the exception.

We will see this weekend when state cup comes to a close, younger tryouts finish, and older tryouts begin next week to see what Fall leagues have to offer.

I thought it was another team he was having issues with? anyone have an insight why he is losing players? curious how they do next season. Yes, of the three teams 2006/2007/2008 he coached, the 2008s were his favorite and most successful. Someone told me he calls them his dream team 😅😅 Many on that team are good friends with players on the 2007 since the last two years they have played together, including at least one Disney Tournament trip. They are also friends with the Forsyth 2008s who were being convinced to move over to Norcross for their upcoming U12 year and play as one. Well the story goes that in a non-club related game/tournament/camp, the coach had some disparaging things to say directly to the parent(s) out of Forsyth that resulted in them vowing never to have their girls play for him. Add in the chatter that came from some of the 2007s about their experiences, perception of him(true/false) and couple that with him not communicating with members of his current 2008 team about their plans. Well friendships kicked in as the parents on his 2008 and the 2008s from Forsyth talk. It made them all realize that maybe he was not the coach for them(side note, some of those players were brought in by him and made the move to play for him). So they all chose to go to the Pre-Tryout ID/Training Camp. So you had the three top girls from Norcross, the two top girls from Forsyth, the top player from GSA, the top player from SSA and a couple of already entrenched top 4 players from NTH(all friends btw) + a goalie and Voila, you have the makings of a super team for next years for NTH U12s SCCL. One parent from SSA told me that her conversations with the other parents lead her to believe that even on Tuesday, after none of them showed up for tryouts, he still would not reach out and communicate with his current players. I've heard conflicting reports that they have all been offered spots and have accepted them. They may get late additions but that team is going to be a shell of his current one. Oh and yes, this is happening at the U12/2008 age group, crazy isn't it 😤😤 **I researched and vetted this info with three sources before I posted 🤪

It would likely be a good game. Good enough to demand a best of 3. I have a great idea. We should have a State Wide competition with all the teams in Georgia and call it the State Cup. Played in the Fall with Fall team rosters. Only addition of players come from lower level teams at same club. I love your elegant balance of naive optimism and cynical realism! Ha! Well played.

The Norcross top team was the weakest team of the big 5 clubs (I saw them play several times) but 6 players from Norcross were at TH pre-tryouts/tryouts. Add to that the top 3 2008s from AFC were at TH as well & 2 from CF. I heard this from multiple parents who have 2008s trying out at TH.

When it’s TH, it’s hard to compete for the best players. It shouldn’t be a surprise. It should be a compliment that Tophat is probably calling the top players from every club. If AU called players in it would be a compliment, not saying that is what Tophat is for girls. TH is a great club for girls, but on the other note I’ve also heard that if you’re not on top 10 you’re no one there, just a number. On the topic of those teams, Norcross and SSA are the only two that beat that Tophat team this year, yet those players still go there. At this age development is crucial and some players are going from playing full matches to sharing half a match and maybe even going to second team there or sitting. And all for what? From what I heard that Forsyth team was very decent too, why didn’t Forsyth and norcross just mix? Maybe UFA leadership is dropping the ball there. I’m sure ssa does that and nth of course does. AFC will probably keep feeding the best of theirs there too. I’m sure Concorde and UFA will be fine with the depth they have.

Looks like 8-9 of there girls have committed elsewhere. I guess the "the 07 parents" are the problem bc the 08s love him" theory is out the window. Why the mass exodus at Norcross by 2 of the teams this coach "worked his magic" on.........

Of course it doesn't actually matter. But neither does 100% of what is discussed on this forum. It really only matters to a handful of families and silly club pride.
I will say that feeling like you made the wrong decision for your kid leads to a lot of anxiety for several months though. We're in the biggest 2 weeks of anxiety of the year.

Adding U12 DA (rising U13 2007) boys to the discussion. It would be a toss up between NASA and AU. They both beat everyone else and split their games between each other.

At least with Ga State finals Sundays, first and second place will hopefully settle the debate for the clubs willing to complete in their age brackets

You are assuming the best teams from those teams are playing. In some cases that's likely not the case. Good luck though to the teams playing.

Not assuming anything, clubs willing to attend and compete at Ga State Cup realize once the final whistle blows and teams walks off the pitch, the debate on who was better is resolved at the podium.

However the teams finished, new teams, new players, new competition, etc... will soon be upon us. Funny to see UFA club staff assisting State Cup staff at SFSC with zero UFA teams on the final day... Hopefully, the alphabet league adults can find common ground to actually have top league team compete against each other
