Sounds like Machop Chol is the homegrown to watch - can't tell me this could would have been better playing for the 2s the last 4 years. He's in such a better spot having spent 4 years at wake. Original 5 homegrowns. Carleton - rumors by tweet that he is headed or flying somewhere.... Goslin - no team Bello - first team, assuming this will be his last year (no idea his contract situation) Patrick Okonkwo - no team Lagos Kunga - no team Next group Conway - assuming 2s? Morales - assuming 2s? Wolf - assuming 2s? Campbell - backup center back for first team? Why would it be Bello's last year?

He tweeted something About an airplane... haven’t seen anything else other than his tweet with a face emoji I guess making fun of the 23s losing. I think he deleted that tweet

Well I think you probably can put a fork in most of these guys.
Of the Orignal 5 homegrowns. Carleton - without club Goslin - with FK Senica in the Slovak Super Liga, and has played 78 to 90 min @cm in 3 of their 4 games this season Patrick Okonkwo - without club Lagos Kunga - without club

Speaking of homegrowns - since Carletons original showing he hasn’t even made the 18.

Where is Efrain Morales? hurt, he's not getting any minutes with the 2s. He's played 150 minutes.
Same with Vicente Reyes, he's played a total of 90 minutes.
Sorry -- why would you sign a homegrown deal for that...........
Run Run Run - is my take.
If your name ain't Bello -- run and run fast. From what I've heard, Bello always was asking "What can I do better", "What do I need to do to improve" etc.
sorry for being an A**, but I just don't see any value in the 2s at altanta united for a young player. It's not like AAA ball, where a kid earns his way up to the bigs with hitting dingers or throwing gas. These kids are signing away their lives.

Efrain was hurt so they gave him a longer recovery time than normal. as soon as he comes back he gets injured. No sure of ETA. Reyes is fine. Not sure why they sitting him so much. Played the 90 mins and only 1 U19 game in 2021 so far.

Not sure I understand the 2s at all. their was a glimmer of hope if they won their last 2 games to get into the playoffs. Sports is about competition. The roster they through out against Memphis couldn't have been their top 18. no way. a must win game, borderline shocking and I'd argue questions the integrity of the competition given how tight Memphis and Tulsa are in the standings.
And then again end the season last night 0-4 against Tulsa, a team they beat 5-0 back in May.
I think they have won one game of their last 10.

At what point do you wake up and realize that it’s time to move on to whatever may be next?

At what point do you wake up and realize that it’s time to move on to whatever may be next? That’s an awfully bold statement. What do you suggest he take up? From my understanding, he’s wanted to be a pro player since a young age, even home schooling to have more time to practice. So if he’s had a pursuit since he was a young child is he supposed to pack it in and go get a 9-5 like the average sucker? He’s not trafficking drugs or committing crimes to supplement his income. He just gets a job, loses it and goes and gets another one...... sounds like the average citizen to me. Maybe you could give him some advice since I’m sure your kids have accomplished far more than he has in soccer.

Well Flix, it was a question-not a statement…But it appears from the outside looking in that each successive move is a step down-MLS to USL to Semi Pro. Perhaps he should look at something soccer related that’s not on the field? I give him credit for his resilience, but think at some point you have to be honest with yourself. Hopefully he will prove me wrong and will play in Europe. I wish him the best.

I've given my opinions for years on this matter and clearly both parties are at fault, and ultimately it comes down to the players responsibility for sure. But the kid was put into a horrible situation and was probably sold a bill of goods.
I haven't watched him play in 3 years, in this weekends game, I would have assumed he would dominate kids 4 years younger than him for sure. It's odd, because he wasn't a big kid, he wasn't lightning quick -- just lost his edge? Kid was as good a youth product this city has seen in years, did things that were special and I guess isn't nearly the same player he was.

I feel for the kid and I hope he finds his zen, whether it be as a regular worker like most of us, as a player, a trainer, a coach or some other fringe gig within the soccer community. I just wish folks stop hoping and praying he makes it to Europe. Not going to happen. You have the likes of Bello n Miles who are starters in the MLS, who are starters for their country, who every so often find the back of the net. Yet there is still doubt about them making the transition to Europe. For Europe to be interested you have to prove you can conquer the states. Like many have said on here, he is not superbly big, fast or conquers a niche on the field like a bend it like Beckham set piece taker. Last I checked, there hundreds of AC players in Europe. Why spend the money and waste the international slot/visa on AC. So I say again, he's not migrating to Europe anytime soon, why, because they look down on our level of footy, period...

He claimed the AU “passport story” was not true. The Costa Rica opportunity got sketchy fast when the manager got canned right after he got signed. The guy seems to have bad luck.
It seemed like he did well at Indy until he broke a wrist. Wonder if he had opportunity to go back and chose not to??
The moral of the story to me seems to be: go to Europe when they come calling - if you’re not 18 yet don’t turn down opportunity to go and train because some MLS team is ready to pay you sixty grand.

Right or Wrong Timing and coaching system, injuries and growing older are alway a factor In any sport with an expiration date.. sooner or later, workforce reality comes calling for all.. enjoy the ride as long as you can cause time affects us all even with Bruno’s fizzing paperwork.
Best of luck to the kid and his travels on and off the pitch.

Carlton is just 21 doing something he loves, good for him. It’s not like he’s George Forman fighting in his fifties. Can’t tell if most of you are rooting for him or against him.🤔 He’s 21 - Relax
