Just to clarify for the false information out there. DPL only has 2 road trips in the regular season, both to Florida from what I have been told.

Nope, I'm pretty sure TH will not ever be the same after this and I'll tell you why. Right now they are can still get by with this GAL "thing" for now because the 03's are mostly all committed so it really doesn't make a difference what league they are playing in. You will see some movement with the 04's because roughly a third of the team has committed to colleges which still leaves sought 10-12 girls who will still look to showcase their skills (assuming they have any) in front of major college coaches because they were not offered spots on college teams as of yet. Meaning you will see those girls start to look elsewhere. Let's just say it takes TH at least 3 more years before ECNL will allow them back in, (they're definitely not getting in this year or next), starting from the 05 age group on down, those players will see all of the attention that the ECNL players are getting (just like DA used to receive) and want that same attention and opportunities to fetch those coveted college spots and will definitely defect. So again it won't hurt them too bad right now but its the younger age group that they need to hold on to because whenever they are allowed back into ECNL, which will happen, they need to come in with a strong presence and not coming in with a deeply weakened talent pool. I have to disagree. 1) College coaches rarely go to club games so who cares what league you play in. 2) Colleges go to showcases to find players. Yes ECNL has a showcase in CA and I am sure GAL will have one also, please remember there are a lot of DA teams still in this league 3) ECNL and GAL teams will be invited to WAG, Jefferson, and Disney. We can play each other there 4) the Tophat name alone will bring coaches over to watch. As for Tophat being able to field 3 travel teams. I believe they will be alright, I believe there are a lot of people that would rather be on Tophat 3rd team then some other clubs 2nd team, no matter the league. They may not win every division but I am confident they will do well. My prediction is Tophat GAL1 will win the division while the second team fights for the 2-3 spot. To much talent here. The DPL team will be a team that fights for the Top half of division. They don't win it this year due to the unknown question. Year 2 Tophat owns the division The way I see it Tophat will get knock down but they will get back up. For the haters hopefully it will last for a while but I wouldn't put money on that one Edit** when I say league games I mean GAL/DPL/ECNL/ECRL

With DPL additions of West Florida and IMG you have to factor in an additional Tampa area trip (3).

So I guess they're going to sandwich 3 games on a 3-day weekend? I can't fault that. Around Miami area you have Palm Beach Gardens, Pinecrest and Weston (3 day weekend maybe?). Around Tampa you have IMG and West Florida (trip 2?). Maybe they can meet United Soccer Alliance in a neutral location? I wish those that do it the best of luck, may it be worthwhile.

So there's not 6 Florida teams like the DPL website shows?
Oh, you're saying they won't play every team twice.

I get the dislike of the affluenza and in the past Tophat reaping benefits from GA Soccer politics for it. Thankfully those days are gone. The playing field is becoming less favorable to them. As a club they are likely trying to continue to recruit families with their 3 travel teams per age group, which is asinine IMO, but so be it. Would be nice if they joined us in the real world. Travel without an actual purpose is nonsense. May as well make the whole club into travel teams and not play any competition in Georgia at all. Also, ECNL isn't "full", they just added Portland Thorns. They have no problem adding other top clubs. There's definitely a reason/reasons NTH was left out intentionally. They will get back in in a year or two IMO. wth do u want TH to do then?

Can some one confirm the try out dates for Tophat older girls? Was told June 7-10 but the site shows another date.

So for parents of young girls U10-U11, that are actually interested in a more complete Development, not just the Wins... it sounds like TH is still the best destination... for now, yes?

Not unless they are the closest club to you. Still a lot of clubs that offer just as good or better development through Academy ages. The minority is the ones that think winning at all costs matters at U10s.

Hopefully prior coaches (even leaving ones) will give some feedback to next season's coaches overall (player rankings, player rankings by position, etc). That way they can see how this matches up with individual players training sessions.

Are Tophat teams set? I know the 02/03 and 04 GAL and DPL are still doing tryouts but are the lower age teams set. If they are, is everyone satisfied? I know everyone outside of Tophat is saying the teams will be no good due to many girls leaving but I disagree I think Girls who stayed will elevate the girls moving up and moving in. Might not be as strong at first but once they get to know each other they will get strong.

No one is saying the teams won't be good. Different, sure. Maybe less dominating overall. But not bad by any stretch.

Many people here were saying that NTH would not be able to fill out 3 travel team. According to what I am hearing and seeing the 02/03 and 04 GAL and DPL teams are suppose to be pretty strong (On Paper). I heard many girls transfered over to play at NTH. Unfortunately some girls who played on those teams got pushed down. Now it time to see how they do it on the field.
I am so happy that soccer season is almost here, I miss watching my daughter and her friends play and compete.

I don't think there was any question TH would keep the entire 02/03 team. They are all or mostly committed, so no need to leave. From what I have heard, the 04, 05, 07 and 08 teams took big hits in talent and/or numbers. I have also heard that notwithstanding the TH rosters coming out this week, some TH kids were reaching out to ECNL clubs. I suspect when kids/parents on the GAL teams saw the rosters and that a handful of starters and top talent in each age group were gone, it may have caused some pause. Of course, this gives others a chance to step up. It's a good opp for them.

I think the only one that has gotten considerable amounts of discussion on the forum are the 07s.
