MLS cares about player development because that's how success is measured in the pros. See my past post. And why travel to begin with when you can have enough 6 solid clubs in Georgia? The unjust instability and stress this has caused to so many on top of the pandemic is ridiculous. It's not ok for NTH (that was competing just fine in ECNL with its 2nd team) to have ECNL or maybe a Georgia club outside metro Atlanta, yet is perfectly ok for CF to have 2. But that was ECNL's way to gain the upper hand on USDA. And what's funny is CF turned around and used that 2nd ECNL spot as leverage with ... SSA whose players and staff play ECNL using CF name and uniforms for two years now. Unbelievable yet as real as it gets. Actually for what I understand, it was because of the responsibility of holding two teams in ECNL that caused CF to look for a partner and make sure they kept both teams at a high level. So I wouldn't say it was as much leverage as it was offering a a partnership to another club that could provide another step up and developing competitive teams in both slots. It was planned as a win-win for both clubs. Not quite a devious as you make it seem. I agree, the players got screwed and this is what it should all be about... the players. But NTH leadership can only look in the mirror as to where to lay the blame. It shouldn't be at CF for having 2 teams and it shouldn't be on ECNL for shunning a club that shunned them... twice from what I understand. Let us not forget...TH turned down ECNL 3 times prior to being shunned as someone put it. The poo-Poo’d ECNL several times, especially when GDA came around. So it could easily be perceived as a tit for tat thing, it is not. TH was offered a recent spot into ECNL, they said NO. Bottom line. |

I just wanted to add an update 06 - 3 players (their leading goal scorer left and its rumored that one of their players is moving up to the 05 team) this one is pretty hush as they dont want the team to find out to avoid any further movement. True. Heard from a parent that a former 06 TH player(leading scorer) is now on Concorde's 05 team (Platinum) and the TH 05 keeper(Originally from Concorde) and defender is on the same Concorde team. Just a point of clarification, the 06 going to the 05 team, was NOT the leading goal scorer on the team....carry on... |

Will Tophat promote from within? Are those girls from 2nd and 3rd teams that could supposedly beat most clubs 1st teams really that talented? Or will Tophat go for other clubs 1st team leftovers? Is Tophat planning just for what is best for next year or what is best for the club in 5-10 years? Stay tuned and find out in the next exciting episode of "As the Tophat World Turns." I have heard of people moving, then not moving, then moving again. If what you are saying turns out to be accurate when the dust settles I am happy to hear some InterAtlanta kids got a look. Too often big clubs scoff at small or medium club players. Also it would be nice to hear that CF did not just dump its entire team. |

Not sure about the all of InterAtlanta, but I think many top players from smaller/mid size clubs are looking to make the move to ECNL. That's what's making the competition so tough this year for 07's.

Happens a lot at 13 and 14U every year since the competition to get on a top league team got much tougher last decade with ECNL (fewer teams thus fewer opportunities). Maybe one of the reasons more kids drop out of soccer sooner than later, including "devastated" late bloomers who could have developed to that level if team wasn't dismantled. It used to happen too before ECNL and DA but more in older ages. State Cup in Columbus was a major recruiting ground for the winning clubs. Crazy would be an understatement. |

Cause looking at the DA stats and watching games, their leading scorer didn't leave for Concorde 05. Leading scorer had 11 goals and the "leading scorer" ur referencing had 4. I didn't go to MIT but I think 11 is more than 4. |

What I WILL say is that my daughter's exemplary accomplishments and soccer resume stand on their own. Unlike you, I'm not a coward hiding behind a keyboard.
