I thought with 3 teams leaving A for ECNL, no one would move down from A. Any ideas?

interesting with afc lightning, but maybe they request b, they only won 1 game in a.
how did concord fire central black stay in A, 0 wins and a bad showing at state cup.

Typically there's lots of movement between U13 and U14 - so maybe AFC lost too many of their A level players? You have to keep 50% plus 1 of your last roster to keep the level. It happened to AFU Elite last year - the A level players went to ECNL and the two AFU teams dropped from A to C in U14. About Concorde - well, the cynic in me says it's a bigass and powerful club that pretty much dictates what they will and will not do regaring GA Soccer so I'm sure there were some back door deals to keep the level. I don't agree with the politics but it happens all the time. Wonder what the holdup is with the U15 girls - I only know of one team/club that's out of the mix now (Ambush RPL team went ECNL) so it shouldn't be that complicated to look at the records and move up or down accordingly.

I hadn't noticed AFC but it does seem odd that they were moved down. Maybe they requested it. I'm surprised about Concorde too. I heard that team had trouble attracting enough players so they added some from Athena B & C teams but were still a little short. Maybe they'll borrow heavily from their ECNL team to stay competitive. Looks like the CGSA team is gone (or maybe moved to a much lower bracket). Maybe there weren't enough returning players at Macon/CGSA to maintain 3 teams and they ended up with just 2. Chiefs is another team that I heard lost several players. It might be another rough season in A for them. It looks like 4 teams were moved up to C. Three were moved up and maybe the bottom two were moved down (I haven't see D yet). Here's a link I had in my browser history from the other day for U15 (not sure which division). I still don't see any teams listed but maybe later today. gs-fall14athenaandclassic.sportsaffinity.com/tour/public/info/accepted_flight.asp?sessionguid=&agecode=G15&flightguid=6E36B99E-3E2E-4DBA-ACAE-EE54B8353C66&tournamentguid=2995C803-BF61-49AD-8F71-E55BD236D992

CGSA and Macon had two teams in U13 Athena B last season. Now SAF just has one in B. I'm guessing the top players from the former CGSA team are on the SAF team in B but I'm curious what happened to the rest of the players.

No way U15 Girls D Bracket is correct .. most of these teams were E in the spring.

This age is starting high school so I bet they have lost a lot at the lower levels. The brackets shrink as the girls get older....would prefer to socialize instead of play soccer...what is wrong with them? ha ha

No way U15 Girls D Bracket is correct .. most of these teams were E in the spring. Three teams moved up to A from B. None moved down. Ambush has no team in the age group now at all - they were D in Spring and I suspect the D level YMCA teams combined as one and with the UFA Norcross merge, some may have folded or moved up. If this is accurate - seven teams moved to D from E and there are six teams that were in D in Spring that aren't listed in D now - all finished ahead of the first team listed so I'm assuming they moved up to C or may have completely folded to have that much movement. Looks like at U15 - the Athena F grouping is totally gone now - expected that though - fewer divisions the older they get. Not to sound elitist -but Athena F is really just expensive Rec. I know the fourth and fifth teams in our club last year had 'commitment' issues -some times girls didn't show up for games much less practice. I am curious to see the B and C groupings now for U15 G. Please post whenever anyone can see those

The UFA-Norcross u15 team that is in D started in E in the fall last year, won the level and moved to D in the spring.

Hey Jack ( jack4343) Just noticed your profile icon changed. Did you make a move to AFU rather than stick with UFA Norcross? I was wondering how that merger would shake out. No judgements - just being nosy

If I'm not mistaken, Georgia Soccer typically sets the deadline to have the brackets to the clubs for field scheduling on a Friday, but they are not finalized until the following Monday. Why not just make the deadline on that Monday anyway??
Is anyone from Georgia Soccer ever on this forum?

No judgements - just being nosy No worries! Yes...and no! LOL! Oldest daughter is now at AFU. Youngest daughter is still at UFA-Norcross. My oldest needed a change. Change of club, change of teammates, change of coaches. She just needed a fresh start. Very excited for her there. She should do well. My youngest is still young and things seems to be playing out for her well at UFA-Norcross. Both clubs are very close for us so the change wasn't that big of a deal even though we've been at Norcross since 2005. I think the merger will help that club, especially on the girls side which always seemed to lag behind the boys there. My wife is working on a new combo AFU/UFA-Norcross avatar for me so I can show my dual citizenship.

Interestingly enough, dreaddy has been silent on this thread Doesn't mean that I haven't been reading it though... It did make me go looking to see if I could find an insider's view to the brackets. I found one, but didn't bother respond since others were keeping you all up to date. The reason the deadline is on Friday but it never gets done until Monday - usually, there is some kind of error (teams not declared properly, teams missed, you name it, it happens) so the brackets are not ready by the end of the working day on Friday. The fixes get done on the weekend then the Ga Soccer staff can release them on Monday. I'm not sure it will even be Monday for some of them this season because one AGC told me had was given new teams on Friday which had been missed. If you've ever done scheduling at that level (I've done it on the rec side) it's not as easy as it may seem to get all the requests and blackout dates covered. It takes a while and some serious concentration. I'm glad I'm out of that side of the business! I have nothing but respect for the AGC's. I am a field scheduler though, so I'm anxiously awaiting the parings so I can get to work.

as always, great info.
personally, don't mind the delay, you have to dot your i's and cross your t's making sure its all correct. teams are set, 95% of teams know if they are 1 or II or A or B, some are on the cusp. but, your manager can most likely see at this point what bracket your in.
i tell folks in may, don't plan on doing anything except soccer on weekends from Aug 1 - Dec 9th. I love it!!

Some inside info - plan is to release brackets this evening with game pairings going to the schedulers at that time. Several divisions have completed their pairings already (no, I can't see them). I do know of two teams who are complaining about their placement - one too high, the other too low. It will be interesting to see if the AGC's will agree to make changes at this point. I know one of them has already done the pairings for that age group.
And there's part of the reason for delays...
On the good side of it, the expected public schedule release date is 8/18! (four days before the currently advertised date)
