What park? Are you asking which park am I willing to drive to? Or which park is hosting the tournament? Schedules can be found here. I will go to a game or two but wanted to know from the forum which game(s) do you think should be a good matchup.

I thought you were saying your daughter was playing this weekend and you wanted to know what games to watch while you were out there. In turn, I was asking what park is your daughter playing at and then I would say what games to watch at that Park. But if you are just going to games based on people suggestions, I would suggest going to any of the Concorde '07 ecnl Platinum games because those were the girls that did the mass Exodus from tophat. It'd be cool to know how they work as a group and if they dominate this weekend. Also, my daughter has done a little training with coach G who is the coach of the Concorde 04 ecnl Platinum. I'd be interested in seeing them play because he is the guy who trained the Carlson family who has the Atlanta United homegrown and sister who is now playing at Virginia Tech.

Agreed, if GSP wasn't such a hike for me, I'd try to catch that 07 Platinum team this weekend as well.

Am I correct to assume the 07 Platinum score posted from this mornings game is a typo? Anyone there to witness to confirm?

The 07 Platinum team (Girls) will most likely be the best 07 team in the state. I watched quite a bit of their first game and they pretty much dominated the entire game.
I also saw a lot of the Concorde 07 SCCL team and they looked better than some ECNL teams. They might have some competition in SCCL this year but I am not sure who from at this point (maybe Roswell).

I watched boys U14 GSA vs Platinum today, not the girls though. Fun game. I did too. Well played match. GSA has a potent offense - scored the equalizer with a minute to go. Beautiful skip pass across the 18 to wide open left wing who had time for tea & crumpets before shooting, as CF right back was enjoying the play from the next county.

My summary on games I have seen or heard about from friends who have seen them is that many teams are dealing with low numbers/injuries. Many teams are dealing with enough turnover/position changes that the flow for some teams is off. Many of the older teams have not played since January or earlier.
It is GREAT to see these kids get out there playing on the fields! As we discussed in another thread, preseason games hold little to no meaning due to new teammates/new coaches/new positions/new formations. It is fun to start speculating on who will dominate and who is looking weak and lost, but things will play out and we will see.
I hope for enough of a season that my kids can improve and get a good developmental season under their belts with the older one having some great highlights and hopefully being seen by some of the colleges she wishes to attend.

I had the opportunity to watch a couple games this weekend from 08-05. Some of things I noticed on the girls side:
08 GSA ECNL & 08 Concorde Platinum ECNL are both very competitive. UFA & AFU struggled a bit.
I agree that 07 Concorde Platinum will dominate.
GSA ECNL 06 & Concorde 06 Platinum have done well playing up against some really good teams.
All-in 05 NL that was mentioned on a different thread looked a bit rough.
Anyone know if UFA’s premier teams are their ECNL teams?

Anyone know if UFA’s premier teams are their ECNL teams? No, at UFA, the ECNL teams are the ECNL teams, the Premier team at Forsyth is usually the NPL team while the Premier team at Norcross is usually the SCCL team...

They start next weekend at CESA friendlies

On All In 05 girls, yeah it was rough . Good news: had 1-0 leads in two of the games and a draw in the other one at the half . Bad news: 8 of the 9 goals we gave up were in the second half 😪. But overall felt good. 6 of the 11 starters this morning were not on the team last year and our AM didn’t join until tuesday of this week but she is a heck of a player. Noticed the same thing oraclesfriend mentioned: lots of small team numbers .

AFC 06 NPL (former DA) beat Red Star Elite 44-33. Guessing that was 4-3.

Would agree with the assessments on 2007 Concorde Platinum and SCCL teams. Saw a lot of both. Platinum team is pretty nasty and the SCCL team looks like they can run with most teams. But opening weekends are tough, especially in time of covid - some teams have been practicing a lot. Others less. hard to read to much into lackluster early performances for other teams. But through 48 hours of soccer, Concorde looks pretty good in 2007 year.

Argue all you want about whether TH can stake a claim for their success, but it surely is NOT about Concorde. Maybe future success but right now, it’s all inherited. Just don’t muck it up.

Not agreeing or disagreeing because I don't think anyone was saying Concorde as a club is the reason for their preseason tournament success but isn't it 9 from the Tophat team on this year's 07G Concorde Platinum team? Also watched a lot of their games and they are a strong team but at times looked a little shaky. They will get better as they play more. More time and some coaching will especially help their front line players and attacking play/movement. I think calling for a national championship this early with what I saw from them is a long stretch but will certainly do well in ECNL league play this year. The team has a lot of potential as many of those players were very good before going to Concorde this year.

So yes Concorde gets to take credit just like Tophat used to take credit

The core of that 07 group spent less than a year at TH. A number of them are returning to Concorde with one of their stronger players being originally from RSC. Which is the link that got them all back together in the first place.
With that said, I saw 07 TH GA L and dpl play in friendlies this wknd, in some cases against NASA boys teams... they’ll be just fine! Like I’ve mentioned before, this will be a fun age group to follow all season.

You are right in a lot of those 07 CF Plat kids that came from TH came from other clubs but most if not all of those kids were at TH for the previous two years not less than a year but yes some did not play academy soccer at TH.

The biggest difference for the Concorde Platinum 07 team is the new coach. You can have all the talent in the world but without having the right lineup, formation, adjustments, effective practices and respect of the coach - it means absolutely nothing. Last year, the team had plenty of talent, but a coach who failed to develop players - a frustrating year for girls and parents. The new team is comprised of 6 'original' Concorde players, along with Inter Atlanta and TH players (many of which were not homegrown). It's the right mix of talent with an exceptional and respected coach. It was the first weekend they've ever played games together, lineup and positions have not been solidified – so as the season goes on any kinks will be worked out. But regardless of where players came from - the team is now Concorde Fire 07 Platinum.

There are 2 who played academy at Concorde and 1 who played 1.5 seasons in Concorde Academy as part of playing at a minimum of 3 different clubs (SSA, Concorde and NTH) during the academy years. The other 15 players that were added at U13 and U14.
