Not that I am surprised given the team was quite strong last year in DA and acquire at least two stellar players (one from Tophat and one from Rush) but boy the UFA 04/U17 team looks very strong based on their first three results. Has anyone seen them play? We have not been around for their games and will not be around this weekend either.

What happened with the 07 game?! That is quite a beat down. I did not expect that. That was a fluke. That team is really good and the coach is awesome. I am sure they will recover nicely from it. Was it maybe a typo on the ECNL site? 10-1 is not a typical score you see for any game at this age group, let alone an ECNL game.

It shows some games with incorrect team winning, along with incorrect number of goals scored.

Does anyone know when the ECNL website will be up and running? I know it is not easy and a lot of bugs that need to be iron out but I expected a little better

Was it maybe a typo on the ECNL site? 10-1 is not a typical score you see for any game at this age group, let alone an ECNL game. I had wondered the same. I disagree about scores being that lopsided in high level games. There are numerous teams that blow out opponents at all age groups and levels. CF 04 Platinum had a few 8+ goal differential games last year. DA had some as well. GA has had some including 12 goal differential games this weekend. Heck UFA 04 had 6-0 and 6-1 results this weekend (which is not 10-1 but with bigger keepers with better skill and experience I would argue 6 goals at U17 is similar to 9 goals at U14).

Either the winning team is amazing or the "really good" claim is debatable. You simply don't see losses like that very often in ECNL. National League Piedmont, sure, but not ECNL.
Also, West FLorida Flames should not have been in GDA or GA.

This is the same age group where Concorde Platinum beat Premier 8-0 a couple weeks ago. Big gaps at young ages aren’t all that uncommon. They won the day before, so the UFA team will probably be fine. Even at older age groups this happens...CF Platinum 04 has scored 8 goals twice this season in only 4 games.

They have played. One could assume that scores aren’t posted because the matches are like friendlies. AU isn’t even listed in the standings.

Gameofthrow-ins I know of at least two games that have been played so far. The U15s played FC Alliance U16s and the U17s played FC Alliance U18/19s both wins for AU. I believe the ECNL games are more like fillers for when there are no MLS Next games. Now this is just conjecture on my part, I have not seen/heard anything official. I also don't know if all teams will play up against other ECNL teams if and when AU plays but that would make sense for the AU model of trying to develop their players by giving them a real tough challenging games...

Yes - strange they’re not in the standings list but are on the schedule. Posted AU ECNL rosters are massive including many play-ups, with the exception of U16, which lists a normal roster of 18 and all the 05s you’d expect to see.

They have played ECNL league games? I heard they were getting started with that this week & weekend. Yes last weekend they played in Knoxville. Every team played an age group up. Yes those rosters are large but last week it was no age mix (speaking about younger ages as I have no knowledge about the older ages) and the entire team played up. That match was much better than beating the stuffing out of a team their own age. The Southeast MLS Next group is small and not as strong as some other groups may be so supplementing their schedule with older ECNL matches is great. I believe there may be an ECNL match tomorrow with one of the Concorde teams (at least for the younger age group, I don’t know about other teams)

I had heard that AU will play CF Premier U16 Wednesday night but don’t know where, when, which AU team will suit up (U15 or U16), or even if it’s confirmed. Will AU be playing home games at Franklin Gateway or at the AU Training Ground?

Rostering 30 player is a major competitive advantage on top of the advantage they already have when playing 2 games a weekend: being able to throw 12 fresh bodies out there for a Sunday game.

You may be able to see the match depending on what field the match is on from the sidewalk. I would assume most of the matches are on the two fields at the entrance but who knows?

A fluke? Teams don’t lose 10-1 on a fluke. The other team was obviously legitimately better. I’m not insinuating the team is bad, but the idea that this particular loss was “an unlikely chance occurrence, a surprising piece of bad luck” is a stretch.

I’m not insinuating the team is bad, but the idea that this particular loss was “an unlikely chance occurrence, a surprising piece of bad luck” is a stretch. The JFC 07 team is unique. The 6-7 of the best FESA players moved to JFC and they had some excellent ECNL and GDA players move In from out of town. The FESA team UFA played Saturday was totally depleted by the loss of those players, so they may have had a false sense of confidence going into Sunday’s game. I’m a different year JFC parent, but caught a little of the game. UFA has some attacking threats, but the supporting cast has a long way to go. That said- does anyone have the scores for Sunrise vs GSA and Platinum? Still nothing in the ECNL website.
