I think one of my son’s teammate’s dad plays on that team. ha! pretty impressive for SSA to basically have to 2 different groups of players tie and beat AUs 19s. I'm correct on that right, Concordes Premier u19 team beat AU 2-0 last night? Gareth coached those teams forever, does he still? I’m slowly starting to suspect you like when AU’s academy draw or lose.

We have a few good local clubs in Atlanta unlike some other MLS markets. All these boys at AU came from local clubs. AU doesn’t take all the best players.

There is resentment between CF’s Platinum & Premier teams in every age group, so of course the mob loves it when the big dog AU and their free players lose. You wouldn’t see that level of animosity if there were 3-4 other fully funded options in Atlanta!

Wouldnt read too much into a 3-3 tie. The CF match vs AU was a good game. The CF keeper kept it from being a lot closer score wise I also didnt see some key players, like 8 of them. Not making any excuses, it was a good battle. Interesting to see the next lineup vs CF U19 Plat on Sunday.

All these boys at AU came from local clubs. AU doesn’t take all the best players. agree have seen it now for 4 years, local teams competing and competing well. I've had my own kids be a part of blown out defeats, to huge wins, ties and very tight loses. The differentiating factor has always been this - my kids teams for 4 years now can compete against AU and a given starting 11. The problem is when you start to go past that and start making changes and they do as well. I've seen games where we start our best 11, and they wait till the 2nd half to bring in there top 3 players, meanwhile we made changes as well and gave minutes to others on the roster. I'm not putting down players 12-18, but now your throwing players 12-15 against their top 1-2 - recipe for disaster. Even if they start their top group, their bench is strong, full of kids who work their tail off to prove they belong. AU has depth that is a luxury, depth in the age group and depth in the age group below. Makes me wonder why in the example above when the keeper got a red, why wasn't there another keeper on the roster?

One keeper played the U17 and the other U19. MLS rules can only play 90min within 24hrs. So really no one to backup unless it was an ECNL match.

Well, less so now that they will be playing football in the ACC. Yes, it’s the ACC, but at least it’s an actual conference. Historically it’s just been the default respect they got for playing maybe 2 tough games a year without the grind of a conference schedule. And I don’t really like any college teams that refuse to put their player’s names on their jerseys.

Oh okay I get the conference thing kind of but sometimes it’s harder as an independent compared to say playing in the sec easy. But that shouldn’t guarantee you a playoff spot. Wow you don’t even like Army or Navy either. Honestly I never understood why you’d put names on the back of jerseys anyway. Oh well.

Maybe you put names on back of jerseys because colleges are exploiting these kids for big dollars and these d-bags won’t even throw them a bone (And don’t come back with “they’re getting the education paid for” garbage). And I would love to see how ND would do in the SEC Easy.

Seriously you wanna put another mediocre blah program in the sec easy? That’s all there is over there, no one with actual history outside of the wife beaters Florida teams unless you’re talking basketball.

So who plays on the SSA u19 team that tied Atlanta uniteds 19s in the first MLS next game? Was that their former NPL or SCCL team, given their former NPL team is the concorde ecnl team? SSA 02/03 top team is playing Concorde ECNL Premier (last year played ECNL, previous year played NPL). SSA 02/03 2nd team is playing MLS Next (last year played NPL, previous year SCCL).

Yes -- AU has the players and should have the coaching personal to easily deal with a lower level team. Maybe that SSA team is better than expected as well, either way good job SSA.
Players getting carded and sent off is part of soccer, field player having to hop in goal happens.

I'm curious about scores also. IMO ECNL has really dropped the ball. 5 months and they come out with a new logo and branding and colors and a non-functional site. I could have rewritten the gotsports teams/scheduling/standings pages in that time, and it would be functional.

Au u19 mostly u19s vs Concorde platinum. Concorde 3 Au 1 [br That CF team was good. They were constantly communicating with each other. They played with a lot of passion. It was cool when they scored and celebrated with the squad. They played some good football.

Looks like standings are finally up. Still no reported scores for AU across the divisions so all listed as last. Lots of people assuming they aren't going to be included which looks like the case. Curious if anyone with real insight team managers, coaches or ECNL staff can confirm they have been told not to enter scores or not.
