It's par for the course -- for years concorde has been hated on. KSA has been hated on. UFA has been hated on. Tophat has been hated on. GSA has been hated on. And we all know AFU has been hated on. DA was hated on. GA is hated on. SCCL is hated on. NPL is hated on. NL is hated on. ODP is hated on. Georgia Soccer is hated on. Wait...that is a lot of hate🤔

I’ve seen NASA play before and trust me, that’s how you guys play. In fact, ECNL as a whole is very direct. A lot of kickball at times. I don’t agree that if you play a high line, it forces the team to just kick the ball and chase after it. Yes, you guys won 6-0, but you also beat Alabama 5-1, which is about the same thing. GSA beat Concorde 7-1........ do they also need to work on defending or is it just AU? The top three teams are who you would expect they would be. But football is a funny sport because AU with no 07’s beat FC Alliance, 4-3, who NASA couldn’t score on in a 1-0 loss....... I think the switch from DA to ECNL has switched the focus on winning to get in the playoffs. Just to clarify the comment above. NASA 07 beat FC Alliance 7-1, so not sure where the 1-0 loss comment is coming from. But yes NASA did lose some 1-0 games they should have won. My mistake, it was Chattanooga Red Devils you lost 1-0 while AU won 4-3 with no 07’s.

It just seems to me that every time AU loses it’s because the other team sits in or plays direct. If you play a high line at all times then you are forcing teams into playing a more direct style of soccer. NASA shouldn’t be criticized for approaching the game that way if their opponents are allowing them the space to get in behind over and over again. One thing about NASA 07’s, a few of those boys had multiple tryouts at AU and weren’t chosen for whatever reason (not sure if your boy was one), so they had a bone to pick in that match. But I will say that direct style all the time affects midfielders as they are passed over by the back line to the front line. You guys have a really good central midfielder who does not seem to touch the ball as much now as he did a couple years ago. I just watched him chase the ball. A good team mixes styles up, direct and lets play through. You can choose your style but there is a lot of wastefulness in that kick and run approach. You may prefer Athletico Madrid but I prefer Ajax.

Atlanta United lost to Alabama 3-0 too? Did they have a direct style as well? With your pick of any players in the state I would hope not to be losing games 6-0 (even if you are playing up). Might be worth getting better at defending? I see NASA played Alabama FC today and drew 0-0. I also saw NASA won 5-1 earlier in the season. How many matches this year has NASA not scored? Hmmmmmm. Might be worth getting better at being consistent?

The 14’s. The 17’s won 4-1 with little drama this afternoon. 2nd half of the U14 game the Alabama goalie punted the ball box to box while NASA continued to build from the back as they always do.
As is evident by the first team for Atlanta United, any team can lose on any day. Alabama U14 looked like they were defending their honor today after the first loss. They seemed to play well and their goalie had a few great stops.. the NASA 17’s are in first w 9 wins and 1 loss. Very strong team.

With all the talk and hype on this forum about the 2007's NASA and CF Platinum ECNL teams being the best the past few years and recently. We are all expecting more from those two teams.

7th and 8th graders. Go figure? The best team today, the fastest, the biggest the <insert adjective here> may not be the same tomorrow. We expect a lot from ATLUTD first team as well! 😂 just an example of course. The U14 and U15 age group seems to be a mixed bag. I know some teams scooped up ex-ATLUTD players or in the case of GSA U14’s some of those young men look like men. In the end, as long as the boys are developing we can all continue to banter back and forth to kill time. 🤗

Does anybody know why the standings for ECNL are based on ppg instead of points? Has it always been this way? Or do they just not have their crap together?

Does anybody know why the standings for ECNL are based on ppg instead of points? Has it always been this way? Or do they just not have their crap together? ECNL and all the top youth leagues use PPG to determine conference and national playoff rankings. This was the approach preCovid as well. PPG is best because when you start compare teams accross regions for national playoff spots the only thing you can go by is PPG because different confernces play a different number of games.

The keeper punted the ball box to box....... dude most ECNL teams I’ve seen employ that same tactic but because it’s used on you there is a complaint. And once again an AU jab.... has would like to see NASA’s first team play...... ooohhh they don’t have one What is your definition of building from the back as they always do? Does that mean the right back or left back kicking the ball to the front three 80% of the time and the other twenty a midfielder drops to the back line to receive the ball and then launch said ball to the front three? Alabama looked like they were defending their honor? Maybe they have gotten better or you have gotten worse? Better yet, maybe their coach was like ah guys they are just going to boot the ball like they always do so here’s how we will counter.

I noticed you didn’t use the most technical in your adjective description. Hahahaha. Keep hating on AU now but I bet two years ago you were up in the MBS all the time. Typical fickle, fair weather Atlanta fans. When things are going bad, that’s when your fans need to know you support them, not just in good times. But I do agree with you that we are just killing time bantering back and forth, at least it’s about football, I love that.

How did that GSA team do last year? Did they pick up some players? GSA U14's returned about half the players. Last year they started slow but won probably their last 8 games. This year they picked up players from ATL, UFA and AFU (maybe another club too, can't remember). Definitely added size and speed, but also skill.

I don’t have a bone to pick. I expect shortcomings at 12/13, and all I said is we expect a lot from the ATLUTD first team. There was certainly no hate there. My reference to them is to simply say being #1 or being on top is not always guaranteed. For ECNL I think a better judge would be looking at players from a club at U16 and above where most of these local teams are fairly competitive. Side story: I saw a 6’1” 2007 ECNL player with size 13 boots in Florida. He wasn’t terrible with the ball either! Most kids (even his teammates) moved away when he took a shot or dribbled the ball. He was easily severs inches taller and heavier than most kids and was a handful at CF. This should change when others hit their growth spurt by U15 or so and I’d expect he will no longer be such a dominant force at that age. As far as AU is concerned, I’m still frustrated with losing Nagbe and Gressel/LGP (mainly) and can only hope the FO figures it out in time for Josef’s return. And yes, I am still an AU fan. 🤗 7th and 8th graders. Go figure? The best team today, the fastest, the biggest the <insert adjective here> may not be the same tomorrow. I’m delicate and bruise too easy. 🤣 Not really sure what there is to settle as I thought it was an engaging discussion. Back on topic, the ECNL seems to now be up to date (for the most part) with scores and standings.

If women we’ll figure out another way 🤪 Hey pal, I was responding to comments previously made about a certain squad(the same one you have been on a vigorous campaign of graveling for your son’s team to play). Therefore, I actually was “worrying about our own club”....... why are you responding?
