“ Q: What clubs are eligible to apply for Elite 64? Any youth club in the United States can apply to compete in Elite 64. The club must have the reputation and proven track record of developing elite players. Additionally, applicants must have the club infrastructure to support the ideal training and game day environment for players.”
🤔 DA light?

So now MLSNext, USL and E64 are all "the top level"? And same with ECNL, GA & E64 on the girls side?
This is getting ridiculous. You can't keep adding "top" teams and expect decent talent throughout. Soon everyone in the state will be on a top team.
I'm confused.

I may be wrong, but someone told me that the E64 was open to top clubs and that it would be top clubs in GA/ECNL, MLS Next/ECNL. Basically like a Champions League of US Youth Clubs. If that is the case then I am all for it. If not then just watering down even more....

Interesting - but not sure now u15+ ecnl teams could fit more games in. Not a lot of rest during a very tight fall season.

How can you tell what clubs/teams are even in this league? If a supplemental league adding more games to what kids are already doing seems exhausting

Was told it’ll be a Pro/Rel type league after the first 3 years too.
That and Atlanta will be a hub for the Southeast region. Doubt it beats out ECNL/USClub in the long run but could be a great backup plan for those outside the ECNL bubble.

Has anyone seen the list of other Georgia clubs joining? No disrespect but not exactly the top destination clubs like a UFA.

I will say that UFA is now one of the top 100 clubs in the country for girls (not sure about boys). Every age group is in the Champions/playoff division except 08 and they are one place out of it.

14 games over 10 months plus playoffs. Seems like a strange format. Basically are playing 1 game a month.

This is where these clubs need to get ahead of these announcements with q & a's, maybe it does exist. But given the different locations of a club like ufa -- what teams will be joining? ecnl, ecnl regional league etc. Are they envisioning a collection of players from different teams? 10 month schedule adds some challenges for the older age groups.

Yea, having league games any earlier in August to me is a bad idea. I don't think teams are ready to jump into league play. I think ecnl starts the week before labor day weekend, and that can be pushing it. And then having jan/feb league games can be problematic because of the weather. Rain rain and its a cold rain. Given the distance of teams in the is league, not sure how it would work our with out playing multiple games a weekend and having local travel partners lets say. Maybe games are pushed back to may to prep for playoffs etc.
I'm just very interested in what kids will be playing in this league? I think I checked before, I'm sure their is some overlap between the 64 playoff dates and lets say ECNL's playoff dates.

Reading through the info on the site- 14 games over 10 month season, “schedule will be created to aid periodization and involvement in HS soccer”.
8 teams in 8 regions, (play 7 clubs in your region, home and away). Then there’s Showcases and Championships.
Also says: no limit to total number of players (i.e. open roster). Players can play on any team and program in their club.
So is this just a supplemental team for the club? The team will consist of players from ECNL, ECRL, NPL, or SCCL and a revolving roster???
Also- region includes: Georgia, Florida, N Carolina, S Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee.
6 teams have been named so far (2 slots remain). Georgia teams are SSA and UFA (so far).

This part really jumped out at me. It would be great if they pull it off, but sounds expensive and there are complexities with data analytics.
“Each of the inaugural Elite 64 clubs will benefit from world-class performance analysis from ProScore and new USYS partner STATSports, which will provide Elite 64 clubs with unparalleled access to the world’s most advanced performance wearable technology. All data and analysis collected will be shared with college coaches and professional scouts — making every Elite 64 game or training session a recruitable moment.”

Has their been any communication from UFA on this topic? I can't answer whether they have told the players, but someone I know who has regular convos with IM said it would be ECNL teams. Given the number of games this may permit a little more roster rotation?? Keep 13-18 happier? Some clubs even carry more than 18 nationally...

Some clubs even carry more than 18 nationally... yea, that is what I feared....the fall season is brutal as it is. Actually was hoping some of the times when we played local opponents on weekends they'd figure out how to spread them out across multiple weekends to limit the number of sat/sun games. Depth is crucial in my opinion, and a good standing relationship with the regional teams is important, but that's not as easy as it sounds when they are playing games every weekend as well.
