The speculation is that it’s James Harris, the new ECNL girls director at UFA. I was told “everyone knows he did it” and that Iggy would not do something like that. Harris is not well thought of in the coaching circles here, I know that much. Supposedly the email is retaliation for the coach who moved from UFA to AFU last year and took a bunch of his former players. Interesting speculation especially when: Email was sent to the boys side, JH is the girls ECNL director. Link to register for tryouts is to Norcross. Just a thought 🤷

That email from UFA is kind of crazy, considering the crapfest that Elite 64 is. UFA is going to have to do a lot more than provide standings. My kid could lose every match this upcoming season, and she would stay at AFU a) because her team is phenomenal (on and off the field) and b) I will never have to worry about any of the AFU coaches sending out an email like that. Yikes. Oh Dabe don’t be so naive you know better 😂 There isn’t a club out there that is trustworthy including AFU. As you said in an earlier post sometimes we just don’t air the dirty laundry out to dry for all to see EVEN IF THEY DESERVE IT but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t stink! 😂 #IYKYK and if you don’t you wouldn’t believe it anyway.

This is about the time of year that someone who doesn’t post a lot will suddenly appear and throw a grenade into a thread; thus, ticking off the whole forum until fall season starts…

So historically, around this time of year (silly season), the following occurs...
• It starts innocently, with a parent or family trying to understand the colossal chaos that is youth "travel soccer." • The community rallies and gives lots of very good advice and makes recommendations based on age, location, level, etc. • However, some issues, acts, stories, or reports we all coalesce around and take sides on emerge (UFA director and mass email this year). • The forum grows by approximately 10–15% because of the new accounts created to advance or decry the issue mentioned above. • We’re reminded how this is a for-profit enterprise and nothing about the physical or mental development of our kids. • Someone comes on to remind everyone that we truly have the power as parents (I'll be the first to raise my hand). • Someone else counters and says, "Yeah, right, you no nofing Jon Snow" Parents have no power over club directors (duh). • “Silly Season” is quoted way too much but is aptly appropriate. • A third group tries to get the original post, question, or information request back on track while apologizing for the thread being hijacked. • We get daily and almost live updates on the situation at specific ID camps and tryouts (43.5 girls showed up and only 99.7 boys showed up). • Sadly, some parents and families will realize tryouts for the top teams are a ruse. Teams have already been picked. • Then we get the variation "What's next?" after missing out on the desired outcome for our little ones. • Soon after tryouts conclude, there will be some kind of consensus on which age, team, club, or league came out on top. • Even more "new" accounts will be created to dispute the assertion above that club x, age group y, will win it all in league z. • At the end of a crescendo of posts, comments, hurt feelings, threats, and feel-good stories, we all return to our respective corners and take on the beach life until August.
There is still a lot of good advice and well-intentioned people on this forum. Please don't hesitate to use their knowledge and experience to make your journey as fun and painless as possible. I wish all the families and their loved ones a lot of luck during this "silly season." 🤞⚽🤞

No sir, no nerves affected here. Yes I did start an account to comment 👍, I’m pretty sure everyone has to! I was actually on here to read the high school thread but saw this. As far as the email, I haven’t met the guy who everyone is accusing. You won’t catch me on that bandwagon because you know as well as I do, ANYONE could have sent that, it could’ve been someone from AFU to just stir this up. As to questioning a child’s playing ability, that’s a nice try!! The success of a team starts at the top with the director-coach-and in some cases the parents (because they think they run the team)

I don't think James Harris wrote the email. I'm not sure why that was brought up. Anyway, what you said was rude and unnecessary. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and believe that it was a dig at the coaching staff, but please remember that players have access to the internet too.

Just view the source code of the email. “The source code of an email will contain the header information for the email and will often include HTML code to style the rest of the message. This means that, by viewing the source code of an email, you can see when you received the message, what server sent it, and lots of other information.”

I found this Whenever someone uses an email service provider to send emails, the service providers replace all the links within the email with their URLs which on click will ultimately be pointing to the original link only. They replace these links with their sub-domain to track the email clicks.
