Marist beat Roswell 4-3 in OT GAC beat Cambridge in PKs (1-1 in regulation, 4-2 in pks) Marist scored with just over a minute left to tie the game, then scored a minute into the second OT period (ridiculous shot from 27 yards out) and hung on to win it. Same player scored the last 2 goals, plus a PK earlier in the game, to finish her high school career with a hat trick in the state championship game. A few months after being one of the key players on Marist's state championship basketball team. Pretty incredible run to finish out her prep career. NFHS replay for those that can access: www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/ghsa/gam56d8a3e9beI said the same thing to my daughter...she finished with a BB state championship, as an All-state player...then a Soccer State Championship with a highlight reel performance and now headed to play college soccer for DI. Wow...just Wow

Looks like Buford has had a lot of possession. 1-1 at the half, currently in 2nd...
Update: regulation over and so is extra time. On to PKs...
Final Update, West Forsyth are State Champs!

Credit to West Forsyth, but Buford was the better team. Would be interesting to know what the expected goals were for each team. The keeper for West was a beast.

Yeah, I believe she tore her ACL early on in high school and had surgery and a repair. They used a cadaver tendon. However, over the last couple of years it has completely disintegrated.

A fun final and some great individual play, but clearly the better “team” won and earned the w.

Will not confirm this is true for her but will tell everyone… as an ortho sports med surgeon DO NOT let your CHILDREN get a cadaver tendon for their ACL surgery unless it is their only choice (revision case all tendons used already). Cadaver tendons have a very high rerupture rate (sometimes due to “disintegrating”) in active people under 40. If you want a cadaver tendon, great! Not your kids!!!! Please!!!!

So would the reason for someone going with a cadaver tendon be a quicker recovery? Quicker recovery Less pain Surgeon preference (run away if this is for your child, ok for adult over 40) Sometimes it may be the better option like if patient has Ehlers Danlos (probably should not play contact sport anyway) Revision surgery Hamstring tendons were too small (still use patient tissue but add cadaver tissue) Dropped your tendon on the floor in the OR (oops!!!) A few other rare reasons

A few other rare reasons I was questioning why they used a cadaver tendon as well. I've heard it is an option, but not one that is ever preferred or has been used in any of the cases I've heard of. Thanks for the insight or possible reasoning behind it.
