Shout out to UGA for the win on Sunday at Mississippi State. They could make the tourney. Awesome. Hope they do well enough for the entire coaching staff to keep their jobs for a while. I unfortunately have to disagree. Yes I am excited that they are doing better and yes they have some talent on the roster and are scheduled to get some great recruits next year but 1 good year doesn't deserve a contract extension. As was stated before they should have been doing this for the past 5 years. It time for new blood to come in to get them over the top. If this was football would Georgia be thinking about an extension for mediocrity. I hate to see people lose their job but it is time to say thank you and move on. We need a coach to get the girl over the top and start working with the local clubs to get the talent to stay home instead of moving across country to play soccer Georgia this year has been in every game but doesn't have the killer instinct to finish. Hopefully we can find a coach that bring that out of the girls.

My general thought is just by showing up they should every year be at least middle of the pack in the SEC vs at the cellar. So props to them for at least now being an average team. Baby steps, make the SEC tourney and hopefully make the NCAA tourney. The billion dollar question --- how is Arkansas at the top of the SEC standings. Arkansas? As anyone ever played a youth girls team from Arkansas? Are they usually good? Exactly! But they have always gotten good talent from the Dallas area and are very well coached. Success breeds success at a school like Arkansas (that actually beat UNC this year). But yes, I agree with your entire post.

Got to watch the last 15 minutes of the UGA vs Arkansas game. With UGA winning one 1-0 against a really tough team. Instead of keeping the composure and finding feet and playing proper soccer they started playing kickball. What happens 19 minutes kater Arkansas scores. With 5 minutes left they continued playing kickball and their goalie had to make a great save and then later a shot off the post. Had to leave but I am sure we will see the same in OT. This is my concern for the UGA team you need to have leadership to keep the girls composure. This is the reason it is time for a new coach. This might be the game that stop them from getting to the SEC playoffs

They say that the team is only minimally improved. They also say that many of the players are "just happy to play at Georgia and really don't care that much about winning." Whether that is actually true or just a frustrated parent's view is hard to say, but if it IS true then that is an indictment against the coach. They also agreed with a poster who mentioned that the entire reason why this team is improved is all because of the new assistant coach.

Love reading the posts. Just so everyone knows, if they beat UF, they will most likely get a bid to the NCAA's. (Might get one if they tie and win one game in Orange Beach.) They are currently #65 in the RPI. That is right on the fringe with teams they beat ahead of them.

Big win for the Dawgs. I have to honestly say i didn't expect that out of them. I knew they had the talent but didn't think they had the coaching to put them over the top. Extremely happy to see the girlz qualify for the SEC tournament. I am sure this will help with recruits for next year. I think this is the coaches first time not having a losing record in the SEC Maybe they can make a run like LSU did last year and shock the world and win the SEC. Hopefully if they don't win they make a deep run and receive an invitation to the College Soccer Playoffs.
Good luck and make us proud

Wow. Unlucky draw to get South Carolina as first game in tournament. Not sure why the SEC changed the 1 and 2 seed for this year. USC has five additional points to Vandy but inner division one less point. Oh well, if you are going to win it all, you have to beat SC. Go Dawgs! It is really impressive what they have done.

Remember the rule actually causes a lot of schools to send offers to current juniors really early. So if anything it will help the 2021 class.

Granted many girls do not change their mind but some on the fence can now rethink if UGA is an option. Agree it probably wont flip anyone but you never know

Big win -- gator program has taken a major hit the past few seasons, not sure why -- they are somewhat obsessed with possession with no purpose.

a few big games on the slate in the SEC tourney -- maybe must win games for Georgia/Florida/Bama to make the tourney: www.secsports.com/bracket/soccerjust realized the opening round were both in state battles to advance!

Bama lost to vandy 2-1 Georgia lost to South Carolina 0-1
apparently with a "great" offensive effort 10 shots, only 2 on goal.
Probably not enough to make it the ncaa tourney --

Georgia played really well. They dominated the 1st half, but adjustments by USC after half got the goal. Good year overall by Dawgs.

some quality highlight from Gator vs Texas A&M game. Didn't realize the keeper from A&M was getting as much playing time as she was -- local product from GAC and AFU (if I'm not mistaken)

Kudos to A&M for putting that on her bio. Glad AFU got some credit for her development!

She is fearless, saw her dive for the ball at girls feet with no hesitation. Great showing from a Georgia girl

I wondered this too. My first thought was if the coaches survived 48 hours after UGA didn't make the tournament, they'd be safe. Then, I forgot about national signing day which was yesterday. Obviously, school needed to get past this date and let things settle a bit so if there is an announcement there wouldn't be a mass exodus of recruits. IF it happens, my guess is it would be after the NCAA tournament bc I would expect if UGA makes a move, it will be a coach or assistant from a team in the tournament. I can't believe they would terminate and then search. Again, they'd lose recruits. They need to terminate AND announce the new coaching staff. My GUESS is that bc UGA finished so strong it is 60/40 that there is no change. It will be interesting.

Waiting until after signing day before whacking a coaching staff is a REALLY crappy thing to do. Imagine signing - and then finding out they're bringing in a staff you don't gel with or plays a different style, etc. Unlike coaches, those kids have to sit out when transferring... so they get screwed.

Or for the new signees, ask for a release after signing, which happens and they can sign elsewhere without penalty (assuming they get the release). Even if its not granted they can petition the NCAA for a release.
But really, it would be difficult to put a much worse head coach in place.
