Just wondering if current girls DA teams have had "virtual" meetings with coaches/leadership at UFA to discuss the move from DA to ecnl?

I don't know if they have or not. But I do think UFA will eventually drop NPL and make it ECRL/ECNL2 as ECNL pushed ECRL into this market.
I could be wrong.

If ECNL gets the ECRL up and running then I can see the NPL teams having to move over to a similar league. But in the short term, there is nothing in ECNL rules that prohibit ECNL clubs from running their 2nd teams in NPL leagues if I recall correctly. After all ECNL, NPL, etc are all under the US Club Soccer umbrella.

Out of curiosity why would any team have to leave NPL? So you have a DA team moving to ECNL. Ok... and currently there is also NPL teams under DA...which next year will be ECNL. Moving to ECNL doesn't force the lower teams to leave NPL right? So wouldn't the only change be the DA teams now becoming ECNL. The rest stay as before? Due to the league constantly losing members on the girls side...
2019 - (10 teams) Lost Mount Pleasant, CSA North and CSA South (all in SE DPL this 2020-21). Added Chattanooga Red Wolves
2020 - (8 teams) Losing Charlotte Independence North and South (both moving to Carolina ECRL)
2021 - (currently only 6 teams..?)

I think UFA stay in it with only 6 teams and no better options for 2020-21.
If I was a betting man, I would say ECNL will try to get CF, SSA, AFU, GSA and UFA to form a Southeast Regional League with Alabama FC, Tennessee SC, and FC Alliance for 2021-22. AFC would be a natural fit for this IMO. This would solve the NPL problem as well as adding recruiting incentive to those clubs. I think doing so could end up demolishing the girls side of a lot of clubs located around the ECNL clubs.

THE UFA NPL team will become the ECRL team I believe. Therefore, nothing will change except the patches. Tennessee plays HS girls soccer in the fall and in their ECNL is in a different conference. Have you seen their ECRL conferences cross their ECNL conferences? Because I haven't. They would probably do the Florida clubs.

Based upon this map seems logical for them to create a new ecnl regional league in the southeast - have GA, SC and North Carolina together in a regional league.

I like the idea of an ECRL in the Southeast... or just relabeling the SCCL-1 (and maybe adding a few more clubs to it), because that is basically what it is already. However, when I posed the question about a possible ECRL to someone in the know, I was told that the big 6 isn't even considering ECRL at this point because THEY created the SCCL and THEY have the control over it. So, right now, it sounds like just wishful thinking on people like us...

Well I would say have the Forsyth Premier teams be in ECRL (on average). Have Norcross stay in SCCL (on average). It would be the same problem for SSA if NPL is falling apart. They could put their current NPL team in ECRL, and every ECNL team could have their second team in ECRL and the third team in SCCL. It may not make the Norcross teams super happy. The club could just decide which teams deserve ECRL and which deserve SCCL. Frankly I think it would be great if the club(s) would spell it out what the 20-21 plans are.

Yep, it really could be that easy... if all the clubs could play nicely together. This is what I was trying to describe in the thread I started ( which didn't seem to get much love, lol), about the possibility of finally shrinking Georgia soccer back down some. My proposal was this: If you take Tophat (DA/DPL) out of the discussion, you would have: Top teams = ECNL (as before) 2nd team = SCCL (formerly RPL) **Call it ECRL for all I care** Athena = SCCL-P thru SCCL 1-3 ** This would follow using the premise that UFA drops NPL.Unfortunately, instead, the clubs seem to act much like our Congress, looking out for their own spcial interests instead of the people. These are supposed to be non-profit organizations, but I guess the money has gotten too big for them. But enough about politics in soccer...

That pyramid would be ideal, they could simply include the 2 TN clubs in SCCL. But would have to get around their HS season (their games in November/December with no home/away). If you look at the older ages of Ohio Valley ECNL conference, their games span from September to May.
I wonder how much ECNL really exerts control over the regional leagues, I would expect not much.
Just say "No" to new leagues that include Florida. Besides, Florida is strong with the NPL game, its their alternate state league. They could simply roll that into ECRL in name only.

These are supposed to be non-profit organizations, but I guess the money has gotten too big for them. But enough about politics in soccer... Yep. I've been saying your point too......it doesn't matter the name on the patch. You could call the top team XYZ for all I care. The top kids will be on whatever you name it, the next 15-18 or so would be on the 2nd team, etc. To be honest with you the Athena A - D naming was always easiest-you earned your way up or down, and it was easy to know where you were in the pecking order. Now, with so many organizations we debate over which is better; NPL vs SCCL1, NPL vs NL, ECNL vs DA, etc. As a matter of fact, with Ga Soccer blowing away in the wind, US Club should just take ECNL, SCCL, NPL, and just rename them all: Premiere 1-6 or whatever. Top kids are on 1, next group on 2, etc. But I guess that means you can't market the next "great" elite league and thus, can't charge as much $$

But naming them Premier 1-6, people would start discussing pro/rel, which ECNL doesn't want and will never ascribe to. Club B's 2nd team might be better than club A's 1st team, and might say "we want to be in Premier 1", but they'll never get it (those players should try out for Club A's first team). There is not meant to be any relationship with 1st and 2nd teams and their leagues under the US Club umbrella, putting the leagues under a hierarchy might confuse customers. Similarly, the vague "clear pathway" to SCCL feels like its likely an untruth.

Just bc ECNL and SCCL are sanctioned by the same entity(USCS), doesnt mean they are in any way related. ECNL AND NPL tried to be related to some extent via playoff system. So You cant just say "our SCCL is now ECRL."
From a Atlanta "Big 6" point of view, I doubt they want to give up their SCCL power to ECNL.

The decision on clubs not being added historically I think was a driving point behind girls DA - ecnl 100% controlled who they let in. Clubs like UFA always should have been accepted for girls ecnl -- but apparently local politics and southern board wouldn't allow it... Might not be true, but that was always the rumor. If a club has shown they have the depth and numbers in each group historically they should be admitted. Hell could even be on a trial basis with the proper evaluations.

When somebody writes the book I’ll be really curious.. How did the state and fed screw up in-state pyramid feeding regional feeding national league... so badly that we have today’s absolute mess that is competitive youth soccer? Was it purely greed? Too many parents needing to buy a different option so their kid didn’t have to try and climb up from Athena C?

Not looking to start a discussion on ECNL Boys in Northern Cal... just wanted to point out that ECNL has introduced pro/rel, seemingly at the club level, in at least one market. Richmond, VA (February 24, 2020) - The ECNL Boys will launch a new Northern Cal Conference for the 2020-2021 season with 10 participating clubs. In a unique partnership with long-time US Club Soccer league NorCal Premier Soccer, the ECNL Boys Northern Cal Division will also feature an annual promotion / relegation playoff, where the 10th place club in the ECNL will playoff annually against the 1st place club in NorCal’s NPL Division to determine the final member of the conference for the subsequent year. www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/ecnl-launches-new-boys-conference_aid47739

On the boys side, does ECNL have its own championship or is it mixed in with the NPL national championship? On the boys side it's amlost as if NPL >> ECNL based on participation. Part of the problem is that the (separate) ECNL and US Club braintrusts haven't sought to define a pyramid. They're likely happy with things the way they are all loosey-goosey. Whereas most of us parents want a hierarchy we can make sense of.
