I'm curious what happened personally. I asked a parent and they understood why it was done, but didn't offer any explanation. He's ended up on his feet at probably the best fitting club. I wonder if they're going to give him the 08's that he coached at Norcross.

I heard from a parent he had been offered before to go to NTH but was at Norcross to be with RS and DD who played a role in him going there. After RS took Orlando offer it was too late for anyone to leave and apparently him and JS didn’t click. I agree with NTH being a good fit for him.

After RS took Orlando offer it was too late for anyone to leave and apparently him and JS didn’t click. I agree with NTH being a good fit for him. NTH offered a player of his a spot and he tried to make it a package deal. At the time NTH said no. RS and his best bud DG(now with NYRB) brought him on board. RS tried to mentor him and DG let him get away with all kinds of bad habits. RS left for Orlando and DG left for NYRB, so no one to protect him. JS called him on his actions or in some cases in-actions and parents were fed up. At the end of fall, well actually January 3rd, with the blessing of the board at UFA, JS gave him the boot, leaving 3 Premier teams without a coach. About 10 days ago, he verbally committed to GSA. But then someone at NTH put in a good word and on their reputation NTH hired him. Now he's trying to coerce his GSA recruits to go NTH. Concur that NTH has always been his goal, hopefully he shapes up and delivers for the young girls lives he'll have in his hands. Has the potential to be good, just has to grow up, take responsibility for his actions and remove the self-inflicted chip off of his shoulder...

Specifically speaking to the Girls ECNL coaches. Only issue for me is Judas Kinchen. I haven't seen him of late but 4+ years ago, when he was at UFA, I felt that the game had passed him by. Good-luck to the 2006s - U15s. Hopefully, they can rise above their Gaffer 😬😬😬

This is purely my opinion ..., but that is an exceptionally strong line up of coaches on the GSA boys side. I have to agree. From personal experience, you can't go wrong with Steven, Nuno and of course Tom Wilson. Heard really good things from Karl and Alex...

The AFU 06 ECNLs finished 10th out of 11, so its not like they can do much worse. I'll add that a coach is typically only as good as the players under them, and we will see how AFU does there.

From personal experience, you can't go wrong with Steven, Nuno and of course Tom Wilson. Heard really good things from Karl and Alex... I personally know Karl and his dad. Karl coached my daughter way back at U8/U9 at DSC before the merge with GSA, and his dad is a treasure to talk to--so many soccer stories about his younger days across the pond; Karl is a very solid coach. and I know Alex VERY well. Played against his great LSA 05 team many times while my kid was at AFU, and my daughter has friends on his old LSA team. I also had some endeavors with him away from soccer as we are both in the same profession outside soccer. Alex is one of the best dang coaches I ever saw work a game. We played them in state cup a couple years back and I give him credit--he worked the refs, and ended up getting calls. He teaches a very physical style of play, and he knows how to attack. Great pickup for GSA. I also know the North GSA DOC DP and not a huge fan because of some personal stuff but I give him props, he's got it going on now. Nuno is one of the best coaches in Atlanta. Steven Fraser is also top rate-and good dude. I don't know Tom Wilson. And all this coming from a UFA parent:)

I also got an email saying the SCCL summer league is still on.
This is purely my opinion ..., but that is an exceptionally strong line up of coaches on the GSA boys side. I agree that this is a strong group of coaches!

Does anyone know who is doing the DPL coaches at Tophat? Will it be the SCCL from last year? Will those kids move up? The rumor is PD will be moving up to DPL and doing the 04 and 03/02 this year. Unfortunately we won't find out until 2 days before tryouts if this is true.

Would be interested to know thoughts on Coach Mirza Mustafic? MM is a great coach and gets a lot out of his teams. He understands how to push his kids, but also understands the soft skills which are equally important.

MM, really good coach. Tactical, technical, fitness. Not swayed by the politics of it all. Would want him coaching my kid.

With GSA and AFU coaches posted, there have been nothing but good response about GSA staff. What is everyone's opinion's on the coaches for AFU? In regards to the AFU ECNL Coaches, from my experience on the boys side, you can't go wrong with Garth. Former DA director for CF and Texans. No personal experience, but I have heard good things about Alex and Brad. On the girls side, personal experience with Stephen, Nadine, Mirza and Dom has been top notch. Stephen is great at focusing and developing the young players and transitioning them for the roller coaster ride of big girl soccer. He's young, focused and you have a clear path to success if you're willing to put in the work. Mirza will develop your individual and tactical game. Nadine will focus your training and development whilst keeping you in tip top shape physically and soccer-wise. She gets you into top colleges too. Dom brings so much experience and wisDOM especially when it comes to college. As a former D1 college coach he's especially suited to coach that age group. My experience with Judas was over 5 years ago at UFA and it personally was not good. Others have intimated that this may have changed but you'd have to find out from others...
