Pretty sure Josef has played his last game for Atlanta. Time to sell off all the assets or last contracts expire while building through youth. Noooooooooo

Pretty sure Josef has played his last game for Atlanta. Time to sell off all the assets or last contracts expire while building through youth. Honestly, I say yes and no. Yes, if he saw the shizat show that was at the MBS yesterday. Honestly, I was embarrassing. So much so, if you go to the AU FB post where they uploaded the highlights of the game, I swear you would think it was the highlight reel for Inter Miami. I say no, only because he's locked into a good contract, he's revered by fans both for and against the 5 stripes and he's already done his stint in Europe in Serie A. He's 27, so if he wanted to give Europe another try, he will have to make the move within the next 18 months, because after 30 haven't you jumped the Shark...

I'm sure Josef is here for many reasons and in no order: 1) tata 2) the money 3) the players and his friendships 4) the challenge and the competition 5) he's become one of/if not the most popular athlete in the city (in some circles...) 6) the benz environment 7) the ATL in general
I'm sure I've left off some things etc -- but how many of these are no longer true. Does he want to be a part of a complete rebuild with a new coach? I guess does he even have a choice given he's under contract.
I thought this team would fall apart without Almiron --- they still were able to produce, boring for sure, but produce. We are obviously seeing what this team looks like without Josef, and it's as bad as it gets. I don't think the local media understands how bad Miami really is. Its a terrible soccer team and the worst in the league.
If you were game planning for Atlanta United would you be scared? Rumors are spreading also that Barco might be sold, he's the only player that opponents need to game plan for.
To me it still doesn't make sense how management could let this juggernaut fall apart like it has. For 2 seasons, whether you were a fan or not, Atlanta united played top 5 most exciting football on the planet! MUST WATCH TV. now -- lame, boring, slow, methodical, can't score, old keeper, and got rid of fan favorite players that produced. Love him or hate him, LGP was a red card waiting to happen on every play, but damn he was fun to watch.

In the world of football ATL are a selling club and it is just a matter of how well they do it and how much money they can make out of it. This all may be true but it is not easy to sell a player who just had ACL surgery before people get a look at how well he recovered. My guess is, if they want to sell Josef for PROFIT, then he plays next season for ATL first and then it is done. Secondly, Josef probably waits to see if ATL learned their lesson about choosing coaches before HE thinks about leaving. If they brought in a great coach I don't think it takes much to turn the team around into an exciting attacking team. There are a lot of youngsters on the team with potential. Frankly I think if Josef was out there we wouldn't be boring anyway. It is just that none of us actually believe the forwards will score.

Any truth to Chris Armas being Atl Utds next head coach? 😉

Truly wish Josef continued success. If he is 90% of his former self after the knee rehab, he (okay WE) will be very fortunate.
All the love thrown on Bocanegra and Eales will be forgotten if this awful slide continues.

I’m sorry but Barco isn’t quality enough for La Liga.

I get that Zeke came here as a young dumb overhyped player but having watched plenty of at this point.. I truly believe that AC when he is focused is just as good. I’d rather see AC get a chance to come back and get some real minutes. For that matter, if it’s truly become a rebuilding year I hope AU give Jackson a run also. They can make a lot more money selling homegrown players than players purchased from other leagues.

I do hope that’s the plan in time-a steady pipeline of Americans with the ability to compete in Europe if they choose to.

I’m sorry but Barco isn’t quality enough for La Liga. I think Barco has the skills and the speed to play in la liga. He will not be foules as much in la liga as they (Refs) protect skill players, play, more than we do here. What he needs to do is to develop physically and mentally.

The ship took on water but stayed afloat. They never gave up. Hope to see more of Damm in coming games.
Orlando obviously has improved under the new manager. Imagine if AU didn’t have the benefit of playing a bunch of games against Nashville and Miami...

Imagine if AU didn’t have the benefit of playing a bunch of games against Nashville and Miami... I could imagine-but I don’t want to. Cheeky goal salvaged a point but I still say it was a difficult game to watch. If Atlanta could play the first 20 minutes like they played the last 20 minutes, we’d have something.

Oh my lawd, what am I watching. I just watched as my 13 year old niece was yelling at the TV for Bello to check his 6 as the defensive formation allowed the 2nd goal.
Josef gets hurt - I keep watching Zero goals in MLS is Back - I keep watching Pity gets traded - I keep watching The defense fails and lets in goal #2 of the nite - I keep watching Barco gets PK and misses not once but twice(btw my 13 year old figured he'd go to the right the 2nd time around) - This time, I have to bow out and stop watching. I just can't right now. Hopefully our HOF VP/TD is working his magic behind the scenes to announce that the La Liga speculation for Barco has come to fruition and he's on a one way Delta flight to Espana while conversely getting some real DPs to join Josef next season...
p.s. It also wasn't lost on me that Barco did not go congratulate Cubo after he cleaned up Barco's first miss, even though it was "offside"

I subscribe to ESPN+ and SlingTV and thus... was unable to watch the game so I listened on 92.9. It’s pretty pathetic to listen to a couple guys watching the game on TV - but I tried. It sounded like another total mess. I wonder what it’ll take to circle the wagons and get it together.
For those who were able to SEE it I’m curious - How did Damm look?
