Any update on tonight’s scores? Cambridge 3-1 over River Ridge 6A Final Cambridge vs. Lassiter Final will be a good game. Cambridge has a deadly striker, when she turns to goal and gets rolling, unstoppable. Weakness is two freshmen in the back line. Didn't see Lassiter this year.

Simple Request? Please state the gender with scores. We don’t all have ESP without the N (nor a current bracket in front of us all the time). Pretty please with sugar on top.

As I tell my son, leave no doubt, if you do it right, refs don't matter. Don't let refs decide the game, leave no doubt. If you don't you are left in someone else's hands.

I agree with the bad call by the ref on the 2nd Lassiter goal but it seem you have forgotten about the 2 missed handball in the box by your defenders As for the robbed in my opinion Lassiter held the advantage on all statistics

The point is the refs just killed all of these girls' dreams, it wasn't a bad call it was atrocious and they had time and opportunity to fix it and didn't. Maybe Lassiter goes on to win the game anyway, in OT or in PKs, but that doesn't mean they deserved to lose how they did. I'm assuming by the comment you will sleep well since I guess your girl's team won and the coach isn't going to give the goal back, so I guess congratulations and good luck next week? I know the refs won't lose sleep over it, GHSA doesn't care either so this too shall pass.

But dare I say #7 for Cambridge is as dangerous as their striker? If Lassiter doubles that girl up top, #7 will have a field day. She’s that good.

Interesting in looking at the Cambridge Stat Lines on MaxPreps - that defensive weakness - First 7 Games they gave up 12 goals and had 2 clean sheets. Last 12 matches, gave up 7 goals and had 7 clean sheets - they only gave up 2 goals in playoffs. Perhaps those coaches have gotten the Freshmen in position or they have figured something else out. I see very few weaknesses in that group. Final will be a blast to watch.

Their deadly striker wasn't at those games due to basketball, which explains those stats. She's something else. Hooch managed to keep her contained so she couldn't score and their coach told us afterward that she's only not scored in a game maybe twice in her hs career. Final will be a good game. River Ridge played a skillful and strong possession game. Their passes were quick and clean. They have a lot of talent there for sure. The Cambridge junior forward is their ticket. She gets the ball on a breakaway and it’s done. When she is off field it is an entirely different game.

Chamblee beat Blessed Trinity 3-1. They’re going to be state champs! I don't know much about Chamblee, but that is a shocker to me. I assume that BT's best player was still with the YNT? I attended the game. It was a really good game and BT was without their best player (Riley), but I'm not sure if she would have been enough to make the difference last night. BT did a great job containing Chamblee's Washington., but that left Croone with way too much space to work. Chamblee has several (young) players that can take the ball from box to box with serious pace and most of their goals came from quick transitions. BT was physically aggressive and had some pretty incredible sequences with great ball control and seamless passing, but they didn't have the finishing up front. BT dominated the first 1/4 and tested Chamblee's defense for the first 25 minutes of the game, but Chamblee's first goal seemed to change the momentum of the game in Chamblee's favor. BT's only game came on a really questionable handball decision by the ref who was really inconsistent the whole night (and sometimes outright bad). Both BT and Chamblee had a much tougher tournament schedule than the other side of the playoff bracket so this was pretty much the championship game. Chamblee easily handled McIntosh and had a lot of confidence going into this game, Midtown should be an easy match for them in the finals. What's surprising is that most of Chamblee's real talent is in the Sophomore and Freshman class, so they will be the team to watch for a couple more years.

With Chamblee having 6 girls from CF 2006 and 2007 ECNL teams, including 4 from the same team, they are going to be tough for years to come.

Missed a couple of easy opportunities that would have opened the gap. RR stayed organized and played a smart game. 6 and 9 were as good as anyone on the field. Could have done better on a few dangerous set pieces in the second half to put more pressure on Cambridge. Loved the loud student section.

Refs in North Oconee/Marist game called it all Marist in the first half (including debatable penalty call with 1 min left in 1st half when it was still 0-0). A Marist girl should have been red-carded on a bad late charge-from-behind that knocked a North player off her feet, well out of bounds (after the AR had signalled the throw in) in the first half. One of the more laughable calls was an undefended pass 40-yards across the width of the field by a Marist player to apparently no one, only for Marist to be awarded the throw-in.
2nd half was all Marist to their credit though.
I'll be interested to see if Marist publishes that game to Hudl.

Marist had the better of the action pretty much the entire game. North Oconee had a goal called back for offside. Other than that, not many scoring chances. The PK was a clear foul in the box. Marist girl received the ball with her back to the goal, beat the defender toward the middle and the defender tripped her. The foul on the sideline was the oconee defender attempting to shield the ball out of bounds, Marist girl tried to run around her to keep the ball in, defender realized and slid in front. Yellow was issued to Marist girl but never was that a red.

Riley is a phenomenal player, but her first instinct is to pass as many of the BT Girls are trained. Johnny Jackson is a very possession based coach. Obviously it works but they need a few really stronger strikers. Confident to shoot from distance. Teams like Chamblee that can possess the ball and finish will always come out on top. The schools that make it to championships almost every year rely too heavily on their senior class not giving their underclassmen the game experience needed to win big games. Like you said- Chamblee doesn't have that issue and will be the team to be beat for the next few years.

Harrison Campbell mens game was heated! Almost an all out brawl at one point. Harrison down 0-2 and came back to win it 3-2.
