Trying to think from past years if I remember clubs, many at this time, not having their lists up?
Spoke to someone yesterday saying that the coaching pool has been tough and staffing is getting increasingly difficult. Is this coaches leaving? Too many kids playing? Pay scales?
Would be interested to know as if so, the clubs have a huge problem on there hands for years to come.

Would be interested to know as if so, the clubs have a huge problem on there hands for years to come. Unless a coach is a director, coaching would be a tough gig. It does not pay enough for it to be a full time job so you need some type of 9-5. If you are working a normal job, then you are working 5 days a week and then going to the soccer fields 2, 3 or 4 days per week after work. Then you have games on Saturdays and Sundays. Throw parents in on top of that and it is not hard to see a shortage of coaches. Throw a spouse or kids on top of that and many coaches leave. |

Coaching is a lot like teaching you have to have a love and passion to do it. Finding someone like this is very difficult especially as the sports becoming more more popular here in the states. With that said based on some of the people you see here and at games if you were a coach would you really want to put up with them or with their children? Parents tend to have a very inflated opinion about their kids ability it is a toxic environment waiting to happen and unfortunately coaches and directors are not as willing to have those hard conversations let them know that little Johnny or little Susie are not really cut out for top teams. Because they either do not want to hurt their feelings or they see the dollar signs and it’s hard to turn money away. But I would agree with you it’s going to be very difficult going forward so if you can find yourself a good coach that’s willing to put in the time and effort with your children for extended periods of time that is the way to go instead of jumping all over the place hoping to find that bright shiny object. |

As long as you don’t start using |CF greatest thing since sliced bread| |you are a loser if you don’t come to CF| most people won’t figure out who you are. New Girls Director Jen Kirby has from what I can tell has been fired or left 4 clubs in 3 years. She used to coach at DDY. She did not leave on good terms and undermined the head coach in front of the kids. Fired from SSA because a group of players were left alone because she was mad at them. UFA Norcross won't be announcing the new coaches until right before or after tryouts to keep parents from changing clubs. Coaches that left had to leave without giving info to parents- most parents still seem oblivious to what is happening. Sad to see that this happened with Sam too. He was the top gun at Norcross. |

Well I have no idea how they expect to run Elite 64 out of Norcross without any coaches listed!!! That seems like a ridiculous idea. Wasn’t Jennifer Kirby hired as one of the replacement DoC-Girls for GA Rush 3, or 4 years ago? She was present during tryouts. They were a revolving door for staff.

Red flag 🚩- clubs that wait to post coaches list as close as possible to tryouts and withhold information. Are they not proud of their coaches and accomplishments? Or do they think by knowing the coach, it may lead to players to go elsewhere? 🤔 Coach matters more than the club.

There seems to be a lot of shade directed at certain clubs on this forum, including a lot of unproductive innuendo. Coaches are evaluated by leadership/ownership and changes are made, just like in every organization. Only a couple of coaches are leaving for other clubs as most that are changing are staying within UFA.

I actually think most people want Norcross to succeed because it was such a strong club years ago. They have had some really wonderful coaches there. It has been unstable for a little while. Not exactly sure why. When my older kid was younger they had 2 teams for girls in all academy age groups. A lot of the time now they struggle to have one. I hope they succeed. I wish all clubs success so that we continue to grow the game of soccer. |

I don't want this to become a situation where anyone is exposed as a disgruntled employee. That doesn't bode well for anyone. Agree to disagree. I really don't want to risk my anonymity or anyone else's for the sake of my kids. I will say that success at UFA Norcross would be amazing, the potential is there, but communication and stability within the club HAS to improve. The fact that we can hear such vastly different experiences should say enough... |
