I'll give SSA a big thumbs up, a few weeks ago at their tournament they made a tremendous effort to secure turf fields on Thursday night prior to Saturday's games with 100% incoming rain for the weekend. Ultimately they had to close some of the grass parks and cancel a couple of divisions but felt they did all they could to get some of the games moved to turf fields in a 36 hour window so some age groups could play.

LakePointe is expensive to rent and would probably cut into net profits, although SSA has used it for their tournaments. As for the refs if the tournament cancels day of I think refs should get a portion if not all of their fee for the day, many refs have other jobs and take off work in order to be available to work tournaments.

People probably don't remember this but the official youth Academy concept was an alliance of local clubs trying to get competitive games before GA Soccer implementated Academy full time under their umbrella.

If an entity is not doing an adequate job and providing good service someone else will. This has been in the works for a while and if this alliance wants to join US Club and have their 2nd/3rd tier teams play each other to ensure competitive balance and minimize travel cost I don't see the negative in that.

Every thing went smooth- they had about 30 shuttle buses at White Water to transport people back and forth. Was a five minute ride to the training facility. Multiple food trucks, dj, merch truck, etc. Boca came out and addressed the crowd as did Arthur Blank. The players came out in the new King Peach kit- still not a fan of orange but they looked sharp. The AUFC 2 team was there too. There was about 2,000 people in the stands tonight. The experience was first class, just like everything else they do.

Not sure how long I'll stay tonight, my daughter is going with me, may have to leave a little early because of the shuttle logistics.

I'll be at the open training tonight, attendance is expected to be 2,000+. Logistically may be a nightmare as you have to take a shuttle from White Water over to the training ground.

This is 100% legit. I don't like it. I have an inside source at the MBS store, the jerseys will be in store this Friday, Feb 16th.

Outsideof the T & T game being the worst thing to ever to US Soccer, this probably ranks second on the list.

Of course NWSL is endorsing Carter, nothing surprising there. Didn’t She not even follow the US women’s teams on twitter until recently. Not sure about that but I can't see any scenario where a women's league would support a male candidate over a female one.

Unfortunately this is just politics in general, our federal government is just like this but on a larger scale, its why we can't get anything productive done in this country.

Good riddance but its too bad, years ago it was a valuable source of information. The forum unfortunately changed much like a large portion of our society, mean and hateful with nternet trolls.

I let my season ticket lapse and now can't get one. My wife is not a soccer fan and the neighbors don't seem to be enthusiastic about the sport. I would love to join a group from John's Creek for some or all the games. I wonder if there is anyone on this forum interested in either a multi-game pass (4 for $120) or Group tickets (10 minimum). This season is going to be a good one. I enjoyed the 2017 season plays. Cheers! Terry, Check out this Facebook Group, its the Atlanta United Ticket Exchange- people are always selling tickets for games they can't make and you can avoid Ticketmaster fees as well www.facebook.com/groups/127887111281075/

It's pretty common knowledge that most of the top DOC's in the state make 100k+ a year, all that information is easily accessible online.

Its my understanding that its against the rules, even if its friendly. It would be considered a non sanctioned event under GHSA and the schools would have huge liability if someone were to get hurt.

Not sure what rules are in place now but it used to be high school teams were not allowed to play club teams, even if it was a preseason friendly.

There are a number of girls clubs that have strong academy program NASA Tophat, Concorde, GSA and UFA are the ones that immediately come to mind. There are other clubs that have strong teams in various age groups but from top to bottom those clubs typically have strong academy programs which translates to very good U13 and above teams.
TopDrawer soccer recently voted NASA Tophat as the the top girls club in the country.
I'm certainly a little biased but having been coaching there for a number of years, Ted is far away the best academy director in the state. All the teams train together and practice the same things, yes the players will be divided by ability but all the teams are doing the same practice session. Most of the session is spent on technical development and some tactics (how to move without the ball, principles of possession building through the three lines, etc). All the teams play the same way regardless of level, so players that may move between teams it allows a seamless process. The NTH second teams can beat most clubs top teams even though the opposing top team may have a superior athletic advantage, this from understanding how to possess, technical proficiency and understanding tactics. NTH's ascendance coincides directly with Ted leaving GSA years ago and coming to Tophat, he along with his academy coaches produce results year after year.
As I said at the top there are a number of great girls academy programs in the area, just do your homework and find what's the best fit for you.

Simple way to do this is start at the academy level, if you want your top goalkeepers to play in the top teams thats fine but also play them in the field for one of the lower teams that same day.
