I agree with a lot of what you said Futsal, but the examples that you listed are basically people not going to work and that is considered protesting. That is what should be done, not getting free air time to protest. Let athletes use their millions to buy ads just like any other company or political party would do to protest. Do I believe we have a problem with police brutality, yes. Do I believe we have a problem with systemic racism, no. Did we in the 60's 70's, yes. That was 50 years ago. There are no easy answers, but protesting should be done on one's own time or their own vacation time. See the difference. @jumpjumpkeep, the owners should have squashed TV protesting when it first happened. Don't like it, don't play. Want to protest, pay for your own tv time or get out and do it in your spare time.

Sorry, I strongly disagree. Athletes should not be able to protest at their "job". If I did, I would be fired and I am sure that would happen to most if not all of us non-athletes. If they want to protest, they should do it on their own time and their own dime.

If Bama is the first game, that will not be good. We just beat them pretty bad in a tournament this weekend. Maybe AU will field their U17's against them or at least they should.

Trace sucked. Used it at ECNL playoffs last year and apparently the fastest person on our team is the goalie. None of the statistics were correct. My son scored a goal after a 40 yard sprint to get to the ball and beat 2 people. The map said he was by our goalie. Video quality was awful. They said they were working on algorithms when I voiced my displeasure. They wanted a solid review. I told them I would not recommend.

DA hype is real, don't fool yourself. Any kid not playing it wants to. What is on the other side is not always great. DA is still considered the top tier. Are there outliers, of course, majority want and do play DA.

Awful, this is called taking a good group of boys and not developing them for 1.5 years.

Dixon had UFA ready to play. The game was close to being even. I think if they play that game 10 times player for player Concorde wins the majority, however Dixon's coaching is the X-factor. Concorde had quite a few chances that just didn't go in, but UFA had a few moments as well.

Concorde has 3 players out of 24 that were AU and are back at Concorde for the 03 group.

AU 17s would lose to Concorde regardless of what team they put out there. I would put money on it.

soccerparent02 and soccerguru, the 2 CF DA teams had a scrimmage on Saturday. u16/17 beat the u18/19's 2-1. Of course only a scrimmage, but they are not that far apart as previously stated.

Referee courses should be free. Kits should be free. IF someone decides to ref, they have to put out 300+ for all of it. Then 2 years later, they make a uniform change. Plus they have to put up with all of the BS. Not worth it.

Don't look at just ATL, you have to look across US. I don't make the leagues, I just have a son in them. I understand all of us don't have sccl, but they have others. KSA have good teams, sometimes questionable, sometimes not. League overall doesn't support what you are saying. Outliers exist everywhere. When people say the best kids don't always play DA, that is truth. I realize it. Top to bottom, the leagues and where most people put them are spot on.

NL is 4th tier. It is what it is. The league that is. Not to say the team is more talented, but the league it plays in is 4th tier. Are there outliers, sure in all leagues. But the statement of 4th tier is correct.

Yes, this is badazz that GA has 2 teams in QF. Especially considering the fact that US soccer has basically not shown any interest in our 02's and 03's. I hope the same for next years round. Our boys can play. We have a great soccer culture in ATL. I know my son has been playing since he was 3. Has played many pick-up games, 3v3's, club games, backyard time. I see no reason that we can't compete with the rest of the nation on the biggest of stages.

Believe me I am all for ga teams. I know players on both ufa and Concorde. Props for sure. I was just saying the mls clubs don't play their best players age appropriate. Idk why?

Post by cantgetright on Jun 21, 2019 9:58:01 GMT -5
That may be true, but you need to realize what the rosters are for those MLS Academies. A lot of them are playing the younger kids. Example the teams playing u16/17 are playing a lot of 03's. A lot of their best kids are playing up an age group. The non-mls academies for the most part are playing age appropriate. If you look at the game reports, you will see at the u16/17 level the non-mls academies are playing mostly 02's if not all 02's. Devil is in the details.

There has and will always be hate for SSA. Not sure why. They always did right by my boys, had great coaches. So then they get a little pr and there goes the bashing on SSA. Since they are the first club that we were always with, I will always defend them because I know them personally. That said I know quite a few players on AU and know some of them quite well. I will never wish bad things on the team. I always love to see them succeed. I know some of the 04's and 03's quite well and their parents. My boys and I watched the games this weekend and were cheering them on. I just think SSA gets a bad wrap and when they do, I usually speak up. I know AU is doing a great thing here. I also know that SSA has as well. Not trying to take anything away from those AU boys. What they did was a great thing and much respect. I just hate the SSA bashing because I do know how much some of those coaches care.

Let's be honest for a moment. AU had a smidgen to do with these boys development. 6 years vs 2 for AU. Other clubs\trainers develop these boys. AU just cherry picks.
