Question for those in the know. An example is U15 DA, but could be U17 or 19. The showcase is late June. If you are currently on a U15 DA team and tryouts are before the showcase, how does that work. Does the new team for next year attend the showcase or is it the existing team? If someone is replaced or decides to go to a new club for DA, how would he go with his existing team?

It is not worth it. My oldest son quit reffing and got a job. Problem is that it costs what about a hundo to re-certify and then they change ref uniforms and they spend another hundo. Then on top of that they go to work and get berated. Just not worth it. They should pay him to get certified.

I have heard RS is a great coach and also has great connections. We would have been there for DA and had him as a coach, but it was just too far. I don't regret the decision yet, but I am starting to.

Sorry, but AU gets the pick of the litter x20. So what that some kids are injured, they are the premier destination. They should win every game no matter what. They are pulling from the entire SE. Maybe the players they picked aren't the best ones in the state. Maybe the coaching is not what it should be. Whatever excuse you come up with for them, does not matter. They should win much more than they tie or lose. At the moment that is not true. I will be very interested to see the CF vs AU game this year. I think CF wins by 2, just my 2 cents. For whatever reason, AU has issues at this age group.

U15s Concorde 4 ufa 1. Cf scored in first 10 minutes stayed that way until right before halftime and ended 2-1 cf. Scored 2 more after half on penalties. Cf controlled most of the game

OCYS lost their DA program and is now at Monteverde Academy I believe. Maybe not technically lost, but it is being run out of MA.

Keeping Crazy, completely agree here. "Boys will be boys" is so lame. Playing is a privilege not a right. You represent yourself, family and club. If what you did warrants a ban on travel, then that is unacceptable. They know the rules. My child has been travelling for years with teammates and no trouble that would warrant a travel ban. That is not boys being boys, that is spoiled, entitled, I don't give a shizat kind of kids.

I'm not worried about the prices as much as I am about who the coach is. Some of those that are assistants, I know them and wouldn't have my son train with them for any amount of money.

Anyone know who the coaches are for these sessions? No information on the site. I am guessing it is just a moneymaker for some of the assistant coaches to help get them paid.

Yes, if offered, my decision. Are you not the parent in your household? My apprehension is at the younger age groups. Yes a lot of turnover. What is your kid going to remember if he gets cut? Is he going to remember making ATLUTD or is he going to remember getting cut? What would stick out in his mind as a young one? To be frank at those ages, you don't know what they will become, it is too early. So stick with a good coach, get a lot of playing time and let the cards fall where they may. If the opportunity presents itself at an older age, then great. If not, then so be it. Watching my son and his team, I am amazed at how fast the game is played. Remember ATL's academy is u12, u13, u14, u15. The older teams, would you say they developed them? @ Zico, there are a lot of good players and believe it or not there are some other DA programs out there that have quick fast players and just as much skill that ATL has.

Quite honestly, I am not sure I would leave my current club for AU if they come calling. Not impressed with the coaching, my son currently gets tons of playing time and their turnover is too high. Maybe at u17 or u18. I don't think it would be wise at the younger ages due to turnover. I have to imagine if they have you for a year and you are cut, it would be a long hard road to get back if at all.

Why is it a surprise? They were the best team at their age group in this region last year. They lost a couple kids, but picked up a couple of kids. I think the surprise is how poorly UFA is doing right now. I don't think that was expected. They lost a couple of kids and gained a couple of kids as well. They were middle of the pack last year, I would have expected to see them about there as well.

If the kid is a baller, it does not matter what size he is. The best kids play up an age group or 2 anyways. If they are not doing that, then parents need to realize he probably is not the next Messi. Calm down and let the kid play because he enjoys it and find the level where he fits. Parents stroke their own ego by saying my kid is on the top team. After the age mandate, if your kid is getting housed, maybe he should drop a level.

CF Vs Charlotte was actually 3-2 Charlotte and should have been a tie. CHeck the game card, the score is wrong.

It is for boys. He can play and yes infoguy, he has options. I think both coaches can develop. So with the perception that the coaches are equal, what would you do? My biggest concern is something I have witnessed regarding National Training Centers and that is UFA gets half a team sent and Concorde gets half of that sent. Knowing these players it is hard to fathom how, because those decisions are not being based on talent and play. If those decisions are being based on club reputation then that is why I am concerned.

I have a decision to make. Thoughts on Driving 3 hours round trip to UFA for DA or 2 hours round trip to Concorde Fire DA. Thoughts?

Our team stayed together from u9 up to u12. Large club. I'll say the core stayed together with 8 players at the u9 age. As we got older and we went from 6v6 to 8v8 to 11v11, we added players. The added players seemed to be a little different year after year, but the original 8 stayed together. At u12 the original 8 all moved on to DA. The relationships made have lasted. We don't see each other as often due to differing schedules, but my son made some great friends.

Honestly have no clue why the coach didn't sub. He always subs, not sure why in this game unless he was afraid of the game getting out of hand. Ask the coach.

I think the coach did not want a game like the first one. The game was 1-0 until about 15 minutes left. Concorde is a better team, but ga united is getting better. Regarding a spark off the bench, I think the best players were on the field.
