The showcases dpl are going to are the Silverlakes college showcase in November and Vegas players showcase in March. I believe at least the second (maybe the first too?) is a DA showcase, but could have misunderstood. Neither one of those are DA Showcases. DPL is not DA, its fake DA not by USSF but by USYS. Sounds like you will be doing the NL showcases Yes! This is the point! DPL own website say for “aspiring DA players” it is NOT DA! Tophat trying to confuse and lead players on that don’t make DA so they don’t leave. Guess what if your player is not on DA and ends up onDPL, high likelihood they never play DA as the following season a few players will come from another club and grab a spot. If you want DA then go to UFA especially if you are 05 as they are going to have a new u15 team this year with more than half of their u14 DA repeating U14 or go play ecnl somewhere.

Does anyone have comments on the coaches for Tophat DA, DPL or whatever it is called and Concorde ECNL? Are these teams worth looking at as far as coaches go?

You'll have to wait to see who's coaching at CF during tryouts I guess, since the other thread is saying they don't publish coaching list, and JH is out for next year headed to FC Prime.

IMO the people who are confused are those who have not read the press releases and are going off of the Forum only. I think you may have an agenda. The great thing is every girl has options. Play DA, play ECNL, play DPL what ever floats your boat. Ultimately the competition between DA and ECNL has forced both to make some changes. Both will now basically be single age groups (talking about girls here) from U14 and up. I bet more changes will keep coming each year. ..

From what I've read/heard, its mostly the NTH parents who are misguided about DPL. But we will know everything a little better in 12 months.

I can tell you the parents of the U14 and under are being sold that DPL is under DA and if you play DPL, you will have a better chance to make DA TEAM at some point. " ". The DA clubs created the DPL league because they feared they would lose lots of MONEY without girls/boys ECNL. Why would their ECNL players agree to play at a lower level when they can switch clubs and continue to play ECNL? Not to mention these clubs have been telling everyone how great ECNL is and that not everyone can be on a DA team. "Lots of player revenue to lose"DA Clubs - Insert the DPL League and spread the gospel that the DPL league is the same or better than ECNL; " " Follow the money people! Or You tryout at multiple clubs if possible (Due to tryout times being the same) and then decide which Club/Team you would like to play for.

They have gotten very little information Will DPL have its own team? Or will these kids be in SCCL and in DPL at the same time and then attend the two NL tournaments. Maybe thats the reason why the coaching assignment hasn't been shared? Is it because its not a real team but part of another one? Some parents were told DPL was only for 02/03 kids This "league" was created with the sole purpose of trying to retain as many ECNL players as they can. The hope is to confuse parents into staying until its too late. Those kids just need to go to the other ECNL clubs and call it a day.

We got people not belonging to the club all up in arms about this league that are not even trying out for or don't even care about. The people at Tophat that are interested in learning more will get all the information needed tomorrow at the meeting about this league. So all the haters of Tophat you will I'm sure get passed the information tomorrow night or Thursday morning. If I remember correctly I think everybody was acting this way when the SCCL league was formed. I an upset also that it has taken this long but as usual people are already thrashing the league and team before the info out. TG is still in season and he is probably still gathering information to make sure all questions are answered. So everyone RELAX

Nobody would thrash the league, if given quality information provided ahead of time. Having a meeting about DPL is proof people have no idea what its all about (and yes I have read the press clippings). Why wait until the last minute before tryouts, when you know the rumors will take over?
- I also know and hear what TH coaches have said to parents and trust me they said it would be the same or better than ECNL. They also said it would be the best way to make the NTH DA team, since they would have the opportunity to play up, if needed.

What did you expect them to say the league sucks pack your bags and move to another club the world is over. In regards to making the Tophat DA it probably is the best way to make it. You would be playing for the club and they could see and scout the players in the league just like if ECNL was around for Tophat. In regards to having the meeting with parents not knowing. This is the first time they are having it on the East Coast so they are probably still gathering information so they can answer all the questions that will be flying around. Like I stated before yes the timing is not perfect but this announcement was made a month ago and everyone was still in season. I am sure it sucks for you and your ECNL daughter but you will still have time to research other clubs before Tryouts. Please keep in mind I am right there with you wanting the information so I can decide but the sun will still shine tomorrow

If we are talking about the same SP, I have always heard great things from his club players not wanting to leave his team. He was also an excellent ODP coach.

When the league you're trying to get into (NCAA) has less restrictive substitution rules than the league you're in (GDA), you gotta go "hmmm".

Well said "atlfutboldad" That might be the most true statement, I have ever seen on this blog. I have often wondered how you get better when games time is limited playing, due to the substitution rules. Then they force Showcases (most have ZERO Coaches in attendance) instead of tournaments to eliminate the concept of winning. * Please don't mention they can't play two games in one day.

I'm on the fence on the 2 games a day. If there is ample recovery time between games (say 4 hours, preferably 5), I'm okay with it. American football has 2 a day practices, basketball teams will play in multi-game tournaments in a day.
