Thoughts on the following coaches, asking for friend with 3 girls looking to go to gsa? Drew Prentice Judson Hamby Rusty Stags Drew’s a great guy, not a great coach. He is in full Admin and father duty now. Judson is a solid coach but does struggle to develop players from the bottom up. He can take Elite players and win with them but most of his elite players were developed or came through other academies. Honestly, don’t know much about Rusty to give a good opinion. |

Wow very interesting that GSA is not planning on having any Athena or Classic teams. Everything is SCCL or ECNL related. That’s going to lead to a lot more movement up for brackets, I’d say goodbye to Athena D and Classic 4 for good and a lot less C/4 brackets too. That list is just for SCCL and ECNL, because its for their ID camp It doesn't mean that they won't have other teams playing select |

Any opinions on Karl Haggon as a coach? He’s both the Technical Director and coach for several DA teams at CF. Asking for... me. 😜

There will be Athena teams...they are just listing the Coaches above Athena and Classic for now. |

I don't understand how you can have a pre-tryout camp next week and still haven't announce your coaches yet. I wonder what Tophat is doing. With all the changes happening there you would think they would address the concerns out there as soon as possible so the coaches could start recruiting and knowing what the team is going to need due to defections to other clubs. I hope TG is not just focusing on DA and forgetting about all the other teams. I am starting to wonder if we should start looking at other clubs

3 per age group listed. ECNL, SCCL, SCCL-P. Im curious if they're just not announcing coaches for lower level teams (or if they may rely on volunteers?). I think they typically have 4-6 girls teams for most age groups. Theres little reason to play there if you're below the SCCL-P, they didnt even put any teams into state cup, opting to have their tournament the same weekend. State Cup is no longer a priority for GSA. The teams they felt could go to state cup were asked to play the SCCL tournament. |

ID Camps could be good feelers of sort to get a read of the club. The grass is not always greener but than again, the opposite can apply. For my kids, it ultimately came down to quality of coaching and playing time. I learned alot with my first one and now the rule applies that if I see the kids continued progression and even more important, they are happy, I am happy.

Forsyth list may come out earlier than next Friday. Heard its ready. Well maybe they are sticking to Friday as it is Thursday afternoon and still...crickets... Also the announcement?? Crickets there too. Last minute changes...it will be out soon |

That was the beginning of the fall of Norcross, it wasn't the merger, it was TA begun giving all of his attention to DA and GA united. In another post the big generation adidas cup was brought up, he was never even around for it because it was always the same weekend as the DA winter showcase! Tophat list most clubs dont release head coaches for teams until a week or two before tryouts. Tryouts for 14 and above are still a couple of weeks out. This has always been the case at least as long as I can remember (5 years). It may seem different this year because of other changes. Lastly, from a TH perspective its less about the Head coach than the culture they are trying to build. I am not saying I agree with that approach, but thats what they believe and talk about. |

If you are speaking of that coach I doubt it will affect ECNL tryouts. If you are speaking about any of the other NPL coaches then I would suggest that those parents talk to players and parents who have experience with those coaches because they are generally well regarded. Of course there isn't a coach in this world that EVERYONE likes, but those two have WAY more happy parents and kids on their teams than unhappy ones! |
