On Friday night at training our girls were told of 3 upcoming trips. - December day trip to South Carolina - January weekend trip to North Carolina - January weekend trip to Tennessee My daughter said specifics were not given. Also, the info was given to the team members and there was no parent meeting. what age group is your kid and does this apply to all age groups? |

Good idea bubbledad , I didn't think to check the other state associations, because ODP and specifically ODP South can't get their heads out to start publishing information. So the SC ODP has Jan 2-3, last year the subregional was the first weekend in January. The reason this doesn't makes sense to me is that the events are 3-day and they're not going to try and put it on New Year's day. The VA ODP has Jan 8-10 weekend marked off as a NC tournament: www.vysa.com/Default.aspx?tabid=2674209The NC ODP has Jan 9-10 marked off as a subregional invite tournament: www.ncsoccer.org/assets/112/36/girls_-_2020-21_odp_calendar_-_locations1.pdfIts so stupid we have to ferret around the internet for information like this. We need information and the earlier the better. problem with Jan 8-9 ... doesn't ECNL have a tourney in FL? |

I don't think ECNL nor ODP care about one another.
Also, Virginia and North Carolina both have it on their schedules, I'd say its basically written in stone.
Also, that Florida ECNL showcase is U16+, so only one girls age group (2004-2005) will be affected.

ODP always had club first policy when kid played. Club came first.

Thats the point, no one is going to miss the ECNL showcase for ODP. All ODP events are optional anyways.

Got the email last night from ODP 04 05 coordinator asking about availablity for Columbia on Dec 20, Charlotte for Jan 8 and 9 and Tennessee on Jan 16 and 17. Assume with as many kids on teams there will be enough to go to all three even with ECNL on 8th and 9th and if it happens Disney on 16th and 17th.

I’d like to tap in to some of that but I have no idea if it means I’d have to move my kid to a 3rd tier Georgia Soccer team on the south side of town (MOBA) so a douchebag coach that doesn’t do his homework but is somehow put in charge of what should be the state all star team but is only allotted an hour to evaluate talent of which he is clueless makes the decision. Or is it that I should let Kostas know he had an opportunity to fix ODP and actually gain respect across the Georgia soccer landscape and he’s frittering it away? Or that I’m going to pull the 7 actual real players from his only competitive age group if he doesn’t wake the F up? Just asking.

If your kid was missed at tryouts, your club DOC can contact ODP Director for another look. They add players. If your DOC hasnt already offered to do this this lack of offering to communicate may say something. You can decipher what that is. My kid played 3 years but wasnt selected the first year. Kid worked hard, tried again and was selected. Made the Region 3 pool the last year due to his hard work not politics of the DOC making a call.
