But here's my favorite quote of all and I think sugardaddy96 sums up he's feelings quite clearly and I'm using the same quote mistergrinch underlined: "Kneeling didn't start it for me, but telling me that "MY" country is evil, and "MY" flag and National Anthem is offensive..." Man I could have sworn this was all OUR country and all OUR flag and anthem. I guess your saying, if they don't think, sound and look like just like you, they don't have the same claims to it and all that it represents. Got it, pretty telling! Stop sharing links to tabloids too, it makes you look desperate.

Couldn't agree with you more. Unfortunately it doesn't take long for certain youth soccer posters to make this a platform for their own personal agendas. Maybe you could assist in weeding them out.

So I googled about it, and they no longer kneel for the anthem since Feb. They all stood for the anthem and then kneeled for 10 seconds before the game, along with the Swedish team, to protest racism and other forms of discrimination. Pics here. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/uswnt-kneels-along-other-teams-164200053.htmlI sometimes criticize my children and wish I could change/improve a few things about them. Does that mean I hate them? NOOO, I love them of course! This "why do they hate our country?" talk is stupid IMO. Also, isn't the kneeling mostly about police brutality? There hasn't been a new case of that in a while right... (and I hope there won't!) so maybe it will die down. I can see both sides. I mostly agree with the right to protest but I can also feel a bit like "let's just have fun watching sports and no protests please".

This post is the poster child of white privilege. Yeah you can achieve whatever you want ... no matter who you are ... as long as you assimilate to what's deemed acceptable to white society. There are people and societies still that will favor white skin over black without knowing your Father had to work a bunch and had to jump through hoops to help his family ... that's white privlege. Skin color leg up, not always financial. Atlanta is one of the few cities that may not instantly peg a black man as doing illegal activities b/c he drives a nice car. But that depends on the county. Look at the demographics of soccer on the club level for women. My daughter was the only black girl out of 52 players in U12 academy b/c folks are being priced out and scholarships aren't advertised. I'm glad the USWNT got smacked in the mouth! It'll make their come back more exciting! Damn right they are protesting and Jesse Owens was old school when the '68 Olympics came around. Plus he was on some "don't make massa mad" tip. RIP Jesse but they reduced him to racing horses for money. Folks have voices and raised fists 👊 to shout and proclaim for the demands of ALL people's liberties with. You probably don't want the acknowledgement of how slavery made our country rich and how reparations are owed to the descendants taught in school huh? ... GTFOOH! You probably don't think college athletes should get paid either and that a "free education" is enough. You probably think black professional athletes should shut up and play ... GTFOOH! LOL you know what they say when you make ASS-U-mptions don't you? I'll take your points one by one, but probably won't even grant you the satisfaction of replying about your assumptions of me because you d-ucking have no clue dude. Yes I know how I spelled that. It was purposeful. 1) Whose fault is it that those black children didn't know their father? You want to keep complaining about white privilege but let's talk about why that kid didn't know his father? It's never the father's fault and always society right? I'm sorry I knew my father because he made every effort to spend time with me when he could even if it was not that often. Sure you will say that they were in jail or whatever because of the systemic racism in the police, but I find that a BS excuse. The issues in the black community isn't because everyone is in jail. It starts at home and teaching the fathers to actually be fathers and to quit having kids out of wedlock and to get women to quit laying down with every man they meet and having babies with them they know the dad won't be around to support. Until you fix the nuclear family issues in the black community nothing else will ever be fixed. Yeah that is a very non politically correct answer but a lot of times the truth isn't all peaches and cream. Let's explore the Hispanic community and their children and how many of them had fathers in their lives and a nuclear family compared to the black community. No one want to talk about that because it would prove my point. 2) Your points on Youth Soccer I can agree about, but not from a black/white perspective as that is not what the problem is. US youth soccer is a pay to play setup making the administrations rich off the backs of the parents, and unless you are a little Messi you aren't going to get a scholarship. May I ask what club you decided to go to with your daughter because certain clubs are in more predominantly white communities, and the fact that your daughter may be the only black kid on the team doesn't necessarily raise red flags depending on what club you decided to take her. My kids have been in soccer long enough for me to see that there are plenty of black American kids in soccer in the Atlanta metro area, and their statistical % is about the same as they are all over the country and falls in line with the overall population of black Americans overall in the country (13%). Having knowledge of the interworking's of how scholarships work for a particular club I will say there are plenty of kids that don't get schollys for club soccer and they aren't just minorities. I know a lot of good "poor" white kids that didn't get one either and they were pretty good soccer players. The pay to play concept has to go away for youth soccer, until then it will hurt all poor kids that are good at soccer. So this isn't a black/white issue. This is a poor/rich issue. 3) Your last three sentences were ASS-U-mptions and really don't dignify an answer from me. You are completely wrong on all three of them so in Family Feud and baseball you would have striked out. I'm well aware of what another poster said the "warts" of America's past, but to go all the way back to slavery something that no one alive now knows anything about first hand, nor do my parents or my now passed away grandparents either. So it has been 4+ generations since people even were alive during it. It was a black eye, but our country paid to rid itself of it in human life and a fracturing of our country. To even bring up slavery now as part of the issue that is going on right now leads me to not take you seriously at all on the whole subject. I don't give a crap what college athletes get paid either. I think there will be a wild wild west that will hurt college athletics but it is what it is at this point. I would much rather see a rule that required the money they earn to be put into an escrow or trust until out of college, so they don't blow through it like stupid college aged kids will do. That isn't a black/white thing, that is a college kids are dumb with money issue. Black athletes can do what they want as long as their contract and league say they can do it. They have free speech rights, but as an employee for a company or league they also have signed some of their free speech rights away in order to be employed by said league or company. So if they break any league rules they should be sanctioned accordingly. Also their free speech is not without consequences. If people don't want to watch said league anymore due to the #woke stuff then eventually the league and salaries of said players that are doing their #woke things will suffer. So ultimately kneeling is going to turn off 1/2 their audience more than likely and if it keeps it up they will indeed see their salaries decline as revenue declines. Its simple economics 101. So free speech has consequences. At least these people aren't lying about their motives anymore. During the Kaep issue everyone kept lying saying it was not disrespecting the flag and it wasn't about the flag. Now these #woke folks outright say it is indeed about the flag and the flag is offensive. Like we all knew it was about to begin with. As far as representing your country and still kneeling, that is different than a league or working for a company. My points still stand from my other post. Why represent a country that is so evil and bad and you are offended of? Kneeling representing your country is just fake virtue signaling. Put your money and fake virtue signaling where your mouth and knee are and quit the team if the country is so bad. There are plenty of very good women soccer players that will be happy to take your place if you think our country is such an evil one. I’m so glad Slickdaddy96 has everything figured out about black history and the black community, I’ve been enlightened. I’m sure these plenty of very good women soccer players are white right? Womens rights means white women, not women of color. Once again a soccer forum is being used to discuss race by people who May or not be qualified to speak on such issues, but nowadays everyone is an expert on everything.

Womens rights means white women, not women of color. Once again a soccer forum is being used to discuss race by people who May or not be qualified to speak on such issues, but nowadays everyone is an expert on everything. He posted a long diatribe ASS-Uming a lot of things about me that he was completely wrong about. So I posted a response pretty much destroying each and every assumption he made of me or on the topic for that matter. As far as being qualified or not qualified to speak, gtfoh with that bs. Anyone that wants to debate a topic and has read up on any subject matter and is informed on what both sides say to the topic are more than qualified to speak about it. That is part of the problem. The wokes now tell everyone that disagrees with them that they don't have the right or are not qualified to speak on the subject. It is right out of the playbook for Marxist type ideas. Demonize and tell the people that oppose they have no right to speak their opinion, and then try to shame and cancel the ones that do anyway. Once you can shut everyone up you then control the narrative, and the silent people believe you are majority when in reality your opinion is a very vocal minority of people, but as I said before that vocal minority is in for a rude awakening the next couple of election cycles. Far left Democrats and Progressives always overplay their hand. As for the rest of you complaining about this topic and politics on a soccer board, I didn't start it, and I didn't even join it until it was multiple pages long, plenty of time for any Admin to have deleted the topic entirely. If you don't like these type topics then stay out of them and ignore them, but if people talk about a subject I'm interested in I am going to reply..

What type of person researches such a subject matter anyway? What exactly are you in search of? What exactly do you type in the search window? Your search(s) are not with the intent to enlightened yourself or anyone else, rather to support the beliefs you've already established. Yes I opened your tabloid link and felt sorry for you. The only time I have to research it is when people like you and the other guy deny it is going on and are willfully ignorant and then ask for sources (you can find yourself by the way) of the pundits/contributors on tv and articles and the woke mobs all making statements either in writing or in videos stating the American flag is offensive and/or racist and the National Anthem is the same. I hear this stuff in passing on news clips and read them in passing in articles, but then you all want me to find where I read them or heard them to prove to you its happening. Once again google is your friend, and if you have not heard such speech you are definitely willfully ignorant or out and out lying about it at this point, or the third alternative you don't even read or listen to news at all.

LOL of course they are neutral on stuff that is embarrassing for the wokes or for the narrative. Just wait till Tebow kneels to pray after a game or something like that, or Dabo starts talking about God in one of his press conferences. They will be all over them. ESPN has lost most of its viewership in its non-sports programing due to the wokeness that has saturated their talk shows.

Actually following and watching Softball and other events over woke men’s BB and women’s soccer these days ..
Japan is up 2-0 nothing over the mighty USA - winner gets gold
Awaiting for women BB to show their wokiness next since Sue B is linked to Pinky
Did notice the woke moment in gymnastics.. a kneeing and fist raising floor routine that resulted in a low score and non qualify for the next rd.
Does the female water polo team knee before entering the pool or are they kneeing in the pool or after ?

slickdaddy96 and papacoach please shut up using this "the woke" talk. Voicing concern passionately over issues that are experienced everyday by many people doesn't need to be categorized as woke by you guys. Sorry everyone but I can't stand reading comments from those two anymore. Debate all you want but at least thoroughly research what you are talking about. Some of these comments are super offensive and ignorant. I have no desire to debate back and forth with either of you so no need to respond.

Does someone need a safe space moment? sorry, can’t keep educating the woke crowd like u that seems ignorant and offensive in generalized comments like “experienced everyday by many ppl” in a country with a population of 331m and a calendar year of 365 days. Stay woke or “woke” term has been around since 1930s and Oxford English Dictionary added the term in 2017 which seems associated with millennials. Since the word WOKE triggers you, not sure WHY u didn’t just shut up and moved along with no response.. At least do your due diligence next time and know something before speaking without being triggered by defending the minimal number of woke athlete’s at the Olympics.. The vast majority of the countries and their athletes aren’t woke while on the National stage.

If you don't like people using it in a negative connotation maybe you should look into the mouthpieces that represent woke people. I'm all for teaching all of history and the history of injustice and our country's warts, but if you think the 1619 project is actual history and not a bastardization of it (which even minority historians say that it is indeed fiction and not real history), then you need to go challenge yourself learning real history and not what the woke media is spoon feeding you. I'll leave you with this: -Not everything that goes against a minority is racism or even a symptom of some great systemic set-up to keep them down. 99% of the time it comes down to lack of personal responsibility instead of it being due to some big white racist conspiracy theory. -Not everything that goes against a person of the LGBTQ community is homophobic, and not every religious baker and florist needs to be trolled and sued because they don't believe what you believe. Learn to live and let live. -Not every person killed by a police officer is pure as the wind driven snow and didn't put themselves in the situation where the cop had to decide whether it was his live or theirs. Yes some did die wrongly and those officers will face the consequences but most did not no matter what the media and the wokes want to say. The forensic evidence just doesn't fit the media narrative. -Not every time someone says something stupid should they be cancelled for the rest of their lives and ruined financially or otherwise. In fact in this case cancel culture is a cesspool and should not happen on either side. People make mistakes. Let them apologize and get the hell on with their lives. -You don't win the hearts and minds of people by burning down your own city in the "mostly peaceful protests" or stating that the US Flag and National Anthem are offensive and racist.

I knelt a knee in my driveway and then in my kitchen today for senseless loss of life and gender inequality for Sierra Leone people. I wonder if my symbolic kneeing actually helped anyone.., maybe I interlock arms with my neighbors and hold a flag for a photo op tomorrow to see if that changes anything outside our subdivision or community.. just maybe right? 🤔 I bet when I volunteer my time and effects again at Safe Haven, a women and children shelter, real substance occurs beyond empty and symbolic gestures by out spoken public figures. They’re using their platform to address and shed light on things they feel passionately about... the same way you continue to hijack this platform to promote your personal deep rooted prehistoric ideals. I’m sure like me, people on this blog are learning to scroll ahead when your handle appears as a comment, you have the right to do the same with the USWNT. Sounds like you’ve got more in common with Rapinoe than you originally thought! I bent a knee and raised a closed baggy fist in your honor today..Granted, it wasn’t a deep rooted, personal or historical moment though.. just simply picking up a doggy doo pile 💩 in the neighbors yard and figured, what the heck, it’s my moment to shine a light on public displays of BS from the overly privileged. UR right, for a quick minute, I identified as Megan R minus the age, Hair, $$ and white privilege. I’m sure my kneeing for poop probably did have something in common with Pinky; who knows for sure but it was a symbolic empty gesture for sure..

They’re using their platform to address and shed light on things they feel passionately about... the same way you continue to hijack this platform to promote your personal deep rooted prehistoric ideals. Cause somehow, rich, privileged white woman that are either in college or college education know what is best for minorities and "insert woke topic" here! Its why I find it so funny. The most vocal folks on this woke thing are white college aged females and white male cuckolds (can I say that...oh well we will find out it isn't technically a vulgar term as defined in the dictionary) that don't have an ounce of testosterone left in them that just do whatever the women tell them to do.

Imagine all that hatred and evilness built up in you. And yet…you’re still soft and you’re still weak.
To quote the brilliant Toni Morrison “What are you without racism? If you can only be tall because somebody is on their knees, then you have a very serious problem.”

Oh no Barco! How did Argentina not make it out of the group stage? If Messi took forever to win a title with Argentina, then it may be a long drought for them to win another because they don’t look like they have anything in the pipeline.

I just like to troll woke folks that have drunk the kool-aid that nothing comes down to personal responsibility and everything is the system and "whitey's" fault. It seems they get triggered quite easily and it is fun to mess with them. If the white educated woman and the new aged castrate white man are now the experts on all #woke topics then, I'm surely going to continue to troll them and put my two cents in. When the wokes and the real racists agree on everything then maybe the wokes need to actually look inwards and see if they are truly on the right side, because they are no better than the Klansmen and white supremacists that actually are racist. A little comedy for you all:

I hope Barco showed well for Argentina at the Olympics so AU can find some interested buyers… …but you know he didn’t.

Will always support the USWNT. However, hoping aging senior players Rapinoe, Lloyd, and Sauerbrann pass the torch. Would love to see the team built around Julie Ertz and/ or Rose Lavalle, one or both step into the captain/ team leadership role. We need an injection of youth. Appreciate what Rapinoe, Lloyd, Sauerbrann have done in the past but USWNT isn’t a lifetime gig. This feels a lot like what happened years ago with Abby Wambach hanging on when there were much more talented players at the time on the bench.

I agree except Abby gracefully accepted a role of super sub. The older players need to go but some of the over 30 crowd that stays still needs to get sharper or on the same page. Interestingly it seems that those who spent time in Europe were all off their best games Morgan, Press, Mewis, Lavelle, and Dahlkemper were not their usual selves. I felt like Ertz, Dunn, O'Hara, and especially Williams had solid showings overall.
