Ambush is a bit surprising. But since they're in the summer league not that surprising. What is Rush going to do? So now we will have 3 pyramids in state? SCCL, Georgia Soccer, and the Inter-league? ECNL/DA/DPL don't count. Georgia soccer can stay relevant as the holder of Mational League positions and ODP. But USYS needs to get USSF to take ODP seriously, DA killed ODP. Also, National League Piedmont should become an adjunct/winter league between the fall and spring seasons of club and high school that differ between Florida/Georgia/Carolinas. Atlanta Cup can seed National League and State Cup can lead to USYS Regionals. Florida plays high school in winter...November through February. A winter league wouldn't work for them.

If it doesn't work for Florida, even better for the rest of us. North Carolina does HS in the fall or something right?

No. Boys DA 2007. Girls ECNL 2009. USSF has a long history of ignoring Women’s soccer. That is because women's soccer did not need help...from ECNL or DA. We were dominant without either. Most of the women on the current national team are too old for ECNL. It started 11 years ago and the average age of the players is 30. Even the ones that played ECNL only did for a few years except the young ones. There wasn’t an SCCL spot for them so they all played SCCL-P - AFU already announced SCCL spots for the fall. Makes sense, wasn’t really fair to the SCCL-P teams playing AFUs #2 teams.

Eh on the boys side some of the AFU teams are drawing and losing to Concorde, SSA, etc.... SCCL-P teams that have teams in the top division as well. So if they think it is going to be a cake walk when they get in the SCCL-C division they might be in for a rude awakening. I know my kid's team has beaten their division AFU team 2x and drawn 1x between division games and tournaments.

Just checking in -- any updates on this?
I consider the term "soon" to mean either in the next 15-20 minutes or days.
"Sorry, got held up at the store, I'll be home soon"

AS a former AFU 05 parent for that AFU SCCL-2 girls' team, I can assure you that for the 05 team at least, they definitely aren't in for a rude awakening. They realize that the level will be amped up. They know its tougher because I'm still friends with several of those parents-great parents on that team.
I also know that the bump up to SCCL1 will not cause that team to finish at the bottom. They are better than the bottom 4-5 teams in SCCL1 easily. They have a few former ECNL players who got bumped down to SCL2 because of a number's game. I wouldn't be surprised if they finished in the top 4.
Of course, the 5 former AFU teammates of that AFU team who are now at UFA will not want that to happen so it should be a great battle.

As a parent who has seen that 05 AFU SCCL-P up close, I can also say they have some good players and will be very competitive if not towards the top of the bracket. I believe of those former ECNL players is a neighbor who I can't wait to see next year on our high school team lol.

Eagerly awaiting UFA's gala announcement from last Spring -- are we a full year late now? And even more eager for Inter's announcement....

Gosh, over a week ago, this happened sometime just after the fall of the Roman Empire, no? A week is an eternity in internet cycles.

In retrospect, SSA's counting down the days for their USL 2 communication looks exceptional.

Looks like we have something coming: saw the same post from Inter Atlanta and TYSA and Georgia Storm Does this qualify as something? Or is it safe to assume they have an alliance and will simply apply and be denied for DA once again? I know other things have got in the way but it’s been a month and others are releasing info like UFA ECNL........

I think the problem is that everybody is bailing on their idea

I think the problem is that everybody is bailing on their idea Rumor has it that inter/tysa/storm are actually merging with santos/lsa/ambush to make one big club.. which will then merge with nth, cf, gsa, ufa, and afu... making one GIANT metro atlanta club... which will then get rid of all leagues and just play intra-club scrimmages. Lots of people are saying it

I think I might have figured it out! They are announcing the "United" team is joining NPL!! Only 6 teams currently, they both sides get something out of it... Ok, ok.... I'm starting a rumor. But that's what happens when you announce a "big announcement" and then don't come through.

Honestly though -- what was the expected UFA Gala announcement? Announcement was to tease this forum with announcements but they realized they can accomplish that by not announcing it. Heard that through reliable sources ;-)

I hear they are going to be putting in a bid to join the Top Flight US Soccer Development Academy 😁, keeping my fingers crossed...🤞 Would be interesting -- the problem with that kind of endeavor, is you can easily see how that ends up like what happened with GA united, i.e. you didn't have to be at one of the alliance clubs to tryout for the team. Not sure if that is good or bad, but if clubs are putting into resources into an alliance and then none of their of their players are selected - you understand where I'm going.... I guess what I'm saying it could become a destination club and attract kids from all over the place. My guess is in year 1 a handful of clubs will supplement games with a hybrid approach adding in some of the MLS endeavor. Too hard for current clubs to commit to an unknown when you have 100 top tier players looking for a competitive league.

What has changed since Feb 27 that might have impacted the soccer landscape? It's been business as usual, right?
But shame on any clubs that have not communicated with their customers during this period.

I think the bigger problem is that with all the clubs joining SCCL either in the Club Based or in the lower divisions they don't have a league anymore that they were trying to put together.
