So now the CCL consists of??? And how do teams from the holdouts to SCCL/SCCL-P actually qualify for NL-Piedmont? It doesn't make sense for NL to grant them a team if they don't play anyone. Oh, and by the way, people keep saying NL but what the really mean is NL Piedmont, correct? I think that distinction needs to be more obvious. Yes and no, moving forward there is no piedmont NL and NL distinction. Before if you won piedmont or any of the conferences in NL you moved to the national tier of the NL which was top 32 teams in USYS per age group, that was played over two long weekends and were truly special events and showcases. Those teams were broken into brackets and winners advance to USYS national championship. Moving forward the national league is not doing qualification from the conferences of NL to gain access to the showcases instead any of the conference teams can participate in the showcases with the only difference being they will have a top flight, second flight and third flight of games at the college showcases weekends. So now every team in any of the conferences of NL are now essentially in the NL with this expansion

Too little, too late? Was the mass exodus/spring fees thing before "tryouts" or after commitments? Well the mass exodus I think was coming due to Gareth just running a horrible club. Add in being left out of SCCL, their neighbors Chiefs getting in and CCL pretty much being a flop before it even starts was tough. Then last week they finally made an announcement about refund/credit for spring fees. Parents were told they could donate it to the club or get a $50 credit for the fall, and they had to decide within like 48 hours of that announcement. ^^^ OUCH!!!

Really sad situation. I think the leadership of these clubs should have taken some time to discuss options vs drawing a line in the sand in a scenario they were destined to lose.
