I am pretty sure that it is being set up to work as an adjunct league to compliment and enhance Clubs participating at a different country club.Looks to be a pretty interesting and potential options for mid-size clubs and other smaller ones who really do not want to be at a mega club (or a satellite office) but also recognize the challenges of a take it or leave it SCCL slot with limited say and limited mobility as well as the well recognized problems with GA Soccer. My initial understanding is that teams that qualify for NL-Piedmont will definitely be playing in that league. Other teams will also continue in the GA Soccer Classic/Athena tiers. The Clubs in CCL can duel roster so it can allow for the CCL games and clubs to hopefully work with one another so the match-ups are better balanced. Providing more games, less travel for the CCL member clubs combined with the pro/reg of both GA Soccer and NL is not a bad idea. All depends on execution. So NL-Piedmont will continue on, but only as an adjunct league? For instance, an Impact team that already has an NL-Piedmont spot will play both a CCL and an NL schedule? Sorry, if I sound confused, but I am... lol. Just trying to figure out what a season will look like for one of these teams. Again, asking for a friend.

So LSA is going to be in a club-based NL league?
Curious why Inter wouldn't do the same.
Here's where we are at the moment: ECNL - AFU, Concorde (x2), GSA, UFA GA - NTH (x2) NPL - AFC, SSA, UFA SCCL - AFU, Ambush, Concorde, GSA, NTH, Roswell, SSA, UFA DPL - NTH CCL (GA) - GA Alliance (Smyrna), GA Storm, Impact, Inter, Triumph SCCL-P - AFU, Ambush, Concorde, GSA, NTH, Roswell, SSA, UFA GA Soccer/NL - Everyone else (Athens, All-In, AFC, BFC, Chiefs, CFC, DDYSC, GA Express, LSA, Legion, MAYS, Mountain United, NSA Belles, Rapids, Rush, UNG, YMCA Arsenal...) Not in that order, certainly.

Not for NL, but at this point no one really knows who is in NL and what's going on with that. People are being told but not divulging into the ether.

What is the CCL? Sounds like SCCL without the S.

Basically. Less clubs, more tie-in with USYS. 2 leagues exist now. Wouldn't mind and SCCL rebranding at this point.

Given that CCL has been around for so long and that the guy running SCCL surely knew about it, it seems an odd choice for a name. Maybe a rebrand that would also correct for the misnaming of the top 2 levels of the pyramid?

Even naming the entire hierarchy to SECL "Southeastern Clubs Leagues" would be nice and would roll off the tongue the same way. Then call the divisions Champions (club-based) and Premier 1-n (team based) as normal. Could even do 2 patches SECCL and SECPL.

Then SCCL-P can become what you have suggested, SECPL 1-4.

What I find funny is that if you go to any of the teams' websites, it is not mentioned at ALL!!!
Impact, Inter, Ga Storm... not a one of them have anything about joining the CCL. The only place you find information on it is on the CCL site itself. You would think that their PR people would want to be all over this... especially after all the "razing" it got for making the "UNITED" announcement coming soon promotion.

It’s on GA Alliance Cobb’s website and has been ALL over all of the member clubs’ social media - Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. www.gafccobb.com.

Most confusing soccer acronyms of all times ...
(1) Georgia “SCCL” and “CCL” Leagues have absolutely no affiliation despite very similar names. (2) Mount Pleasant “USA” badge - South Carolina club has a USA badge on their uniforms which actually stands for United Soccer Academies.

Mt Pleasant wasnt the only USA in club soccer and is now South Carolina Surf so no longer an issue there.

All joking aside, this would be a great fit for Ambush LSA AFC and Santos. Santos and Ambush already joined SCCL though and it will be against better competition overall than CCL, at least on the girls side anyhow.

Speaking for Ambush, (at least on the girls side)they would lose players every year to the bigger clubs because they couldn't offer a consistent higher level of play. Many of the age groups on the girls side would only have one team, and because of the lack of depth, it was rare to progress higher than the Piedmont level. If a girl wanted to play at a higher level, looked to play in college or beyond, they usually would end up moving to a larger club with more options. I think with the move to SCCL, in the long run it will help with that issue, and possibly even be a much needed draw. My youngest is still there because he's only u9 and we love the club, the coaches, and the smaller, family atmosphere, but we did end up moving our daughter to a bigger club past year to give her a pathway to move up, be seen, scouting opportunities, etc. Who knows, if they had had the SCCL opportunity earlier, we may have stayed. They are a quality club, we've been very happy there. All joking aside, this would be a great fit for Ambush LSA AFC and Santos. I agree.... This is the better fit for them ( Santos and Ambush). Ambush, Santos and the other Metro club that’s added to SCCL will benefit greatly by keeping all those true homegrown and academy kids again. All three clubs have been known for developing great talented players even when they don’t always get the top class grade A athletes.

Ok. How will this work? Will Inter keep their NL? Will they travel to Virginia? I am confused. Plus I guess someone's thought that LSA was in this is wrong. Sounds like it could be a nice thing for these clubs, but I am uncertain what it means overall. LSA dropped out, which held up the announcement, after they were offered an all in position with NL. Look at the initial United post and you can see the shark in the e of United. Smartly they backed out of this but who else is left in Georgia soccer at this point ?? I may have spoke too quick on LSA being allin NL........
