Thats awesome that we have 4 ga schools in the top 25, but hopefully some parent will stop spreading lies on Chamblee. Someone is in a dark closet combing thru the roster and stating lies but scared to show there face! Lets give credit to the girls that have worked hard on the field to make sure Chamblee is undefeated going into the playoffs. What are the rumors and where are they being spread? Haven’t seen them on here but maybe I’ve missed them. Is it along the same lines as what they were accused of last season (which I think was pretty much BS)?

Too bad there is no way to combine these rankings with teams that play winter.

Too bad there is no way to combine these rankings with teams that play winter. Agreed. Either way, great showing by Georgia. I have no skin in the game, but hope Chamblee wins state and gives the finger to everyone who narc'd on them last year. Parents ruin everything. We suck.

It wasn’t the parents, it was the Midtown coach and players (who are also Inter Atlanta families too). Chamblee was lucky to only get what they got. Funny to see inter turn on inter but that club has been in chaos for years.

FYI it was the parents that brought the Chamblee coaching situation to the Midtown coach after the lost in the championship game, not the REGULAR season game. Sort of like how McIntosh PARENTS lied on Chamblee players THIS year and ran to the AD, so he could open a case about having illegal players. Look folks Chamblee just has a TEAM that works hard in practice! It showed on the field last year and its showing this year. So stop the whining and lying about illegal players or coaches, just give these girls from Dekalb county credit.

I know it's this way in virtually every high school sport, but it's always crazy to see so many lopsided scores in the playoffs. Like, 10-0 mercy rule games. Honestly there are probably too many teams in the playoffs, but then again the pool isn't exactly evenly distributed, so the #3-4 seeds in a strong region might be better than the #1-2 seeds in a weak region. If you shrink the field you eliminate some of the better teams simply due to being in a stronger region, which would be tough.

You have #1 seed Norcross playing #4 seed Collins Hill. Collins Hill is 1-10. In no way, shape or form does a 1 loss team deserve or even belong in the playoffs. You would think there would be a better way to keep the field the same number, but have more deserving teams be in. I can also see your point where the top 4 teams in a region might be strong teams. Two years ago, South Forsyth won the whole thing as a 4 seed. Every single boys team in the region that made the playoffs was very strong. Even this year, at least the top three teams in that region all have a legitimate shot at going all the way. It's probably too much work for GHSA to take say the top 2 teams from each region, and then fill the field with at-large teams based on some combination of record and strength of schedule.

I don't know where the site you used obtained the 1-10 record for Collins Hill, but it is incorrect. They were 4-6 in Region and 6-10 overall. Unfortunately their best player has missed a good portion of the season, and is probably out tonight. If she were healthy & playing, I think they would give Norcross a good game. There is no way GHSA would be able to use any sort of rankings. I have seen 3 different sets of rankings and they are all very different from one another. In a couple years if they shrink the number of classifications and make 5A or 6A the top, it should result in larger regions and make teams #3 & #4 a bit more competitive. The most striking thing I noticed about last night is every 7A game was a shutout.

7A I heard that the Hillgrove Brookwood game could have gone either way, Hillgrove had shots on goal, but Brookwood came out on top and scored, so congrats to them. Forsyth Central is a team to watch, they won their region over Milton, Denmark and West Forsyth. Next interesting matchups: Forsyth Central vs North Gwinnett and Walton vs Buford. 5A If Cambridge and Chamblee moves on to Round 3, that will be a great matchup, because both these teams are powerhouses with great players. Loganville is another team to watch in 5A.

Girls 7A all 1 and 2 seeds move on except Milton the lone 3 seed to move on after beating Cherokee. Now it gets good. Several solid match ups in the Sweet 16.
Walton / Buford Campbell / North Paulding Denmark / Norcross Harrison / East Coweta
Walton / Buford arguably the toughest. Both teams would be expected to go very far.

I agree the Walton / Buford one will be fascinating to hear and see the results. I've seen Walton play. Solid players all over the field. Their attack is diverse as well, as they can play direct and through the lines. I havent seen Buford play but I respect the results they have garnered so far...

Wow, last night finished with some surpising scores in 7A. Walton over Buford is a little surpising. I thought Buford had a chance to take it all. Brookwood falls to Richmond Hills! Who is Richmond Hills? The Playoffs are unpredictable... In 7A a few more games tonight before the next round is set... The Harrison vs Walton Elite Eight match will be epic... The teams and schools dont like each other as they were once region rivals before the region changes this year...

The Cambridge v. Chamblee matchup on April 24th is going to be interesting. That matchup probably decides the state champion. Both teams tied with Marist. Both beat McIntosh although Cambridge needed overtime.

6A - Great matchups next Monday with Pope v. North Atlanta and a bitter rivalry game between Marist v. BT. Both electric games.

They played North Atlanta last playoffs and won, but a lot has changed since then, so you never know. The B.T. vs Marist matchup will be a good watch. Anyone else noticed that almost all the teams from 6A Region 7 & 4 are in the final 8 as expected? Region 7 Blessed Trinity Pope Lassiter Roswell or River Ridge (Region 6) Region 4 North Atlanta Marist St Pius Region 3 Woodward Academy

What are the rumors and where are they being spread? Haven’t seen them on here but maybe I’ve missed them. Is it along the same lines as what they were accused of last season (which I think was pretty much BS)? Someone pieced together a bunch of screenshots of club tournament rosters and pictures from Sinc sports and suggested that players were being coached in tournaments by a club coach that also works at Chamblee. It was a complete fabrication (the players were actually playing out of state in a completely different tournament during the timeframe) but Chamblee still had to put together proof and spend hours defending itself against the accusation.

Chamblee won over Cambridge tonight. Cambridge was easily the best most balanced team that Chamblee has faced all year, it’s just really difficult to match the depth of talent in Chamblee starting 11. I understand that Midtown is next. They should force the fans to sit on opposite sides of the stadium for that game. A lot of parents and students are really disappointed with the petty way that Midtown responded to the loss last year.

In 5A Northgate beat GAC 3-0 last night to move on to the Final 4 to play @ Greenbrier on 4/27. I was not at the game but I was told there was a fight and 1 or 2 red cards issued (I'm assuming 1 to each team). Don't know the details. Anyone there that can tell us?

Hard to tell exactly what happened as a result as the camera either cut off for the cards or they edited them out.

In 7A, it looks like Forsyth Central and Denmark might be on a collision course in the final. Of course, both have to get through their final four matchups first. Central probably has their toughest game of the season playing Walton. I don't know much about Campbell. Will be curious to see how those games play out.

In Girls 6A looks like it's Marist vs Region 7. Marist beat Blessed Trinity, and if they beat Lassiter they will play the winner of Pope and Roswell, so 3 Region 7 opponents in a row.
