DA players can't, ECNL can. As long as the player is part of the member club. You're going to see girls that are Discovery players at State Cup. Not full time members of ECNL, but girls(I guess boys now too) on the 2nd team trying to make their way up to ECNL permanently. These girls may play only 5/10 minutes with ECNL but get a lot more minutes with the 2nd team. I've seen parents complain about my daughter's team on the old GA forum, but they were complaining about these types of discovery players. But since it is allowed, I'm sure there are times where full time players are called in to action. Not great for the full time 2nd team kids in my opinion.

Wow, many parents(I’m guilty of this) can’t see the big picture when their kids are this age. We get so invested in our kids games even in rec at age 6 that it can bring out the worst in us. Now that my kids are much older I think back to the emotions I went through when they were 8 and ask why?

So the kids at AU that are evaluated and deemed not a good fit aren’t given a chance to “tryout” again? Are tryouts even held to compare them to possible invited prospects?

Isn’t it the club/county that owns these fields the power that dictates the closures? Since Concorde doesn’t own the fields, do they really have control of the closures? I’m guessing the real keepers of the fields don’t want them trashed prior to the start of the season.

I'm all for it. I have a kid that's on the DA Level that doesn't want to play in college and doesn't have any hopes of being pro. He just enjoys the game and is good at it. So for me, why spend all that money for travel to be seen? I know it's fun, but no reason to go to these places across the country. We can plan our own vacation. Well, I've been thinking. What if I have him tryout and he makes the next team down. It could be classic 1, what if they win? Then he'll be on a rpl team. More travel, should I have him go on the 3rd team, do I even hope they win? What if they get promoted, don't have him move up? He won't play rec. This sounds like a good solution, still playing decent soccer but staying in state.

Can’t see some clubs recommending their best players for this, what’s the incentive for a club potentially losing their best players? Hopefully there would be an open tryout. Will AU scout U9 matches?

Pulisic is a huge exception. He was described as a perfectionist and probably compulsive by his mother. You don't think all those days he wasn't at a formal practice, he was in his back yard obsessing about juggling footwork and striking. How many of our kids work on these things on their own and can't put the Playstation controller down. What we need are soccer fields in the community that are not locked and not associated with any club that anyone can just go to and play. If something like this exists in metro Atlanta, please let me know. I'll take my kid in a sec. Freedom to be creative in a non stressed environment would be great.

So how does that work? Are SRPL relegated to RPL? RPL relegated to Classic 1? 4 teams in SRPL and 4 teams in RPL? Sorry confused. It used to be easier

I just read that Forsyth charges an additional $300 for non Forsyth county residents. Is that included in the yearly fee? For example, if the fee is $1900, will it be $2200 for a Gwinnett or Fulton resident?

Thank you, will dates be posted on their website? Regular tryout dates are now posted for mutilple clubs, why the delay with DA? Are they usually different dates?

Will there be open tryouts for UFA and Concorde or did you have to attend the ID tryouts to get invites back to actual tryouts?
