In 2022, the World Cup will expand to 48 teams, so I'm thinking we will make it anyway? At least, I hope we will.

It all depends on circumstances, It's not naive, I've seen DP's make DA the next year. Yes, not all make it, but tryouts have been proven to not be correct before and players can make gains in ability and athleticism especially in the early age groups in 12 months. Because it didn't happen for your kid or others in your circle, doesn't mean it can't happen. And what do you have to lose for asking? Who cares if you piss them off. If your kids is already being sidelined and they don't respond, then you know where you stand and move on the next year. You just can't stand around hoping, worrying. Of course this all depends on who your kid is and if they can step up and help you make the case. But you must be realistic about your kids ability.

Yes, the spine was a big issue. I hope they do roster some of the 05s with the 04s. It seems like they plan to permanently roster the three 04s who currently play up. That would open the door for some of the 05s to come up and play. The 04s need a CB and they need a consistent striker who knows how to “pass and move.” The 05s have such a striker (who has been playing up with the 04s for the last few weeks). I do think success will come with developing a consistent back line, though. Defense seemed to be an afterthought on the 04s this year. Rumor has it that an 04 defender is returning after a season off to play with the 04s... As far as retentions, I would cut a few more than just 3. The majority of the offensive players have had difficulty scoring against tougher opponents. Shouldn’t you look to replace offensive players who can’t score? Now, that would be a shakeup. There are some smaller players that could get cut that I think shouldn’t. For example, one of our little friends is a tiny midfielder who has great vision. He doesn’t get a lot of playing time at all, but he hasn’t hit his growth spurt like some of the other kids. I think, however, he is probably one of the three that could be cut. However, they told the boys 2-3 cuts. I think they can trim around the edges, though. 😉. I do know that their coach for next year is concerned about the overall work ethic of the 04s. Heard he wasn’t pleased with their practice ethic. I guess another question I have is whether they will retain kids based on “potential” rather than output. So it looks like reports out of the current u14s, rising u15s is 4 lads were released and one Bio-Banded down to the 2005s. Where these the ones that you suspected would be released? I also hear you may be adding a midfielder from NASA and a striker from CF? Talking about 2005s, I hear for the first time in history not a single player was cut, you will have one Bio-Banded down to the 2006s. I know the 2005s are good but do you think some changes are afoot as other local clubs will be tweaking their rosters to counterbalance theirs. Just my 2 cents, will sit back and lookout for your opinion(s). Wow, I'm just curious about the Bio-Banding. I've heard of players playing up, but never down. Is this a new thing, or has this been done before in DA?

Hopefully both the ECNL and DA teams are in close proximity to practice or scrimmage together. If that is the case, make sure your kid works hard in those settings to show they belong on that team. And as the parent, you always have to remind the coaches what was "promised". Some coaches will conveniently forget what was said at tryouts.

It’s great to have a set schedule with Sundays off. Your kid will get to compete against the best teams in GA. Even if you’re only able to do it for a year I think overall it’s a good experience. Yeah, you dont play against some kids at some of the other clubs, but a lot of the best kids from those other clubs do make the move at that age to get a taste of it. If you can get your kid on one of the the 3 clubs that have it beyond u14, I think it’s an advantage for future placement at those clubs. Good luck if you’re considering it for your child.

hahaha................... we shall see. However, even if it is the following year, I was saying this 2 months ago and told I was crazy:) It's all about who you know Next year? Ah, that doesn’t count. People are trying to make informed decisions for the next season. 19/20 is so far away. Maybe these 2 clubs will see the threat and be smarter on how teams are setup. Who knows

if you go back and look at my posts when I posted as BigDawg..............I was saying last fall that CF is losing ECNL..............no one believed me. Now, everyone is talking about it. I'm going to say it again: CF/TH will decide between DA/ECNL. They will NOT be allowed to keep both. UFA DA/GSA ECNL/AFU ECNL will be winners in this . You said Thursday right? It’s a little late, in my opinion. Unless ECNL is content with 2 GA teams next season. I’ll virtually bowdown if what you say comes true though

Concorde has listed tryout times for ECNL and DA. On top of that, it looks like there will be u13 boys ECNL. It looks like no decision was needed. Yes that’s been posted for a few weeks now on their site. I don’t have facts that they are choosing but I know that ECNL is persuading CF to drop DA to be exclusive. See the trend, US Club Soccer is pushing all clubs to drop DA. There are - 79 “All MemberClubs”. www.dropbox.com/s/xt8ug9rijn07ynv/Girls%20ECNL%20All%20In%2018-19.pdf?dl=0Actually, the times weren't listed yesterday, and ECNL wasn't listed for U13. These were updated today. But I guess we'll know for sure when the registration links are live.

It looks like Tophat/Nasa, AFU and Concorde have listed u13 for Boys ECNL. Didn’t see anything for GSA but they are probably just late. I say good news on the boys side for former DA players

When all the real news starts to come out and is officially posted somewhere(not last years data). Can we create a thread(Just the Facts 18/19). Without any rumors or opinions. Then everyone can go there, get informed and make the best decisions for their child. Moderator needed.

Happens the first week, 4th seed vs 1st. Bench players probably got lots of playing time in this first week.. From here on they’ll watch as the top boys/girls battle it out. Exciting time, but will be heartbreaking for many, especially the seniors!
