The 5 seniors that signed were always looking to play in college. Talented juniors, were undecided at that time. We had full roster of 22.

Daughter played last year and there were lots of coaches out for he 18/19 girls. We played same weekends as the ECNL team so they came out for the club players. She will be attending GCSU next year and playing.

In Gwinnett we play non-region all throughout the season. Mostly traditional games, rivalries, but super competitive because the kids know each other from club or mutual friends. In our bracket the non-region games give us a break from our tough 6-AAAAAAA bracket.

Only 5 teams at U18 girls and they have all played each other in Piedmont League I believe. I think the timing of the U18 round robin has a lot to do with so few teams.

But why is the 18 and up playing during the week after graduation??? Do they not realize or think these college bound kids are working and can’t get there during the day?? Our whole team may have to bow out because of this. Need to change the timing and push final four back

Daughter going to DII school in the fall to play. Chose it because of academics. D1 was not on her radar because seriously wants to pursue nursing and not be held to D1 athletic commitment... because it is. What worked for her was seriously the SINC profile for tournaments and teaching out Tony he coaches listed that would be in attendance. Paid the monthly fee so we could add video, pics etc. They came and sought her out. On Athena A saw little interest moved to NPL junior year and after returning from ACL tear at State Cup got lots of interest. 12th grade moved to ECNL composite and coach got the schools out. Went to her top pick school for their specific ID camp and rest is history. There is not that much money really. Luckily we are receiving the Zell Hope which pays for tuition, and a little $$ from soccer but will have to find the rest. Academic program first and foremost. Clearinghouse is a must, cannot sign an NLI without it. Girls need competitive academic scores all around.
Hope that helps .

Furthest was 30 to Fowler, 15 minutes return. Our last year at AFU, daughter drove herself only 5 minutes!!!

As a school counselor, truly appalled. So you have so little confidence in your child's academic ability, that this is helping??? I just know these kids have to be mortified, except for Lori Loughlin's kids who are bragging about not going to school anyway and just partying at USC. With all that money, they could have done tutoring, SAT prep, anything.

01's were a separate team for Athena A, and actually played up for composite, only 6 girls were 00's, and composite was a new thing this year because of the age thing. We all practiced together. 00's only did the ECNL games, 01's played both, grueling.

00/01 ECNL Composite, not the top ECNL team. The 01 girls were also dual rostered for Athena A.

Stayed out of this as long as I could. We loved Hoover this year!! First year at AFU, last year of club soccer, and he delivered what was promised to our team. Got them in front of college coaches, and 6 signed. Upfront with us the whole season. He stepped down for personal reasons, stop assuming anything.
Done

FG cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am done with youth soccer and the travel. This last year was a blessing because my kid was driving herself to practice. But we were doping the Fowler drive 3 times a week from Duluth depending on the time of practice could be 20 minutes or almost 45 minutes. Good luck to all.

Taken from the GHSA rule book
1. The overtime will consist of one (1) fifteen-minute period, which will be played in its entirety. 2. A coin toss shall take place to determine which team will put the ball in play first. 3. If the score remains tied following the overtime period, a “shootout” of penalty kicks will determine the winner. 4. The head referee shall choose the goal at which the penalty kicks will be taken. 5. Each coach will select any five (5) eligible players (including goalkeeper) to take the kicks. 6. A coin toss shall be held with the team winning the toss having the choice of kicking first or last in the first round. 7. Teams will then alternate kickers in an A-B-B-A rotation, and there is no follow up on the kicks.

And yet, their women's club team went to nationals last year. So those players must not have been recruited, or chose not to play Div. 1 soccer.

Have to figure out what works best for you. As you go up in age groups and level, team managers will usually create a brochure of the team to hand out to college coaches on the sidelines at the bigger showcases. These are very useful also for making contact. If the tournament is on SINC, you are able to see who looked at your profile further and make contact. For girls bottom line is what does she want to study and what school would be a good fit for both areas: sports and academics.

I will say that Sinc was helpful in our case because my daughter did not play all of Junior year. So when she she got back on the field, it was very useful during State Cup and early fall tournaments to let the coaches she was interested in to let them know she was playing. We paid the $19.99 to be a featured athlete, and did make contact with coaches through it.

I think the high school recognition comes because you get in the local paper if you make Super 6, Region playoffs, Golden Boot, etc. There are lot more public accolades with stats to back it up.

Again, not sure why you are still having club practice if your kid is in high school. Club play is pretty much done except for few outlier ECNL games. Gwinnett doesn't have middle school teams as of yet, although many schools have clubs teams now are that trying to get sanctioned.

Did not attend any of those high cost camps, and instead opted for specific schools. As you may have read, turned out great for us this year.

Our contact was a direct email with really detailed information about her playing style, plays she made etc. so we knew it wasn’t mass mailing. You can reach out to them, but they cannot reach out to you.
