Our contact was a direct email with really detailed information about her playing style, plays she made etc. so we knew it wasn’t mass mailing. You can reach out to them, but they cannot reach out to you.

Mine defintely was recruited at Georgia College. She was sidelined all last year ACL and was not seen at all 11th grade, Once cleared, attended UAB in July and the Georgia College coach invited here to come in September. We signed with them in December!! The coach had some notes from seeing her in 10th grade at a high school game, but other than that... She also had some offers from Piedmont, after their camp and ECNL games, and Oglethorpe (scrimmage with ECNL team).

Conditioning an weight training on her own for senior year high school season, and part time job. Senior year is expensive!! We got the college thing done, so relaxing on that front.

As a school counselor in the middle of cyber-bullying lessons and digital awareness, I am including this in my conversations this week, along with the Heisman Trophy winner's shenanigans from years ago. Teens feel they are impervious because it what they say is in cyberspace.

Great win!! So tired of hearing that Atlanta’s isn’t a soccer city. Did no one do research on the scope of the youth soccer leagues here?? That was definitely a factor in the size of the crowds and the international face of the city as well.

Agree with Oldboy Piedmont went to the DIII tournament and is a strong team. I think the Georgia DIII schools are very strong academically, and smaller campus still draws some strong soccer talent looking for that environment. Rosters may not be as large and that can guarantee some playing time for freshmen. Strong competition after years of ECNL, DA, etc is not for everyone. Smaller private school have more academic merit money as opposed to athletic.

We found that the SINC sports player profile helped us. Before a big tournament we would pay the extra $19 to be a featured player and send a message to those coaches she was interested in that were attending the matches with her game schedule. We did receive feedback, and could see if they viewed her profile, and did receive some emails from them.

My daughter and I went about her search by academics first. She only attended specific schools ID camps that had the program she wanted, Nursing, and she will be going to Georgia College and State, DII school. Girlssoccer, look on the schools websites for upcoming Winter ID camps usually in January. Also if you club sponsors an ID camp with colleges in attendance, make sure you go: AFU, UFA I think GSA also have one in Spring.

Early Decision and Early Action are 2 different things. Decision means if you apply and are accepted you are going to that school, period. Action, is just knowing you are accepted to a school, and can apply for merit scholarships early, not binding. Both heavily rely on transcripts up to Junior year and test scores only. Recommendations, other supporting documents not required usually. With the early NLI date this year, so many more kids have applied early action for their athletic schools.

Like the trip idea, also with high school soccer ending it is always a strain. We already have several college commitments in the senior group, and not sure if they want to risk injury as well. Will be interesting what is decided.

If they play in any ECNL games, are dual rostered, they need to have the patches on.
