I hope some coaches make it to the U17 girls games in Roswell. It was nice being 20 minutes from my house and not having to schlep a tent. But the players are already not happy about not getting to watch games. But my wallet will be happier at $2.87 gas right now

It is hot. So happy to have 8:00 and 9:45 games, but we stay around to watch high school teammates on other teams play. Lots of college coaches camped out, received some emails after last year, and some have already reached out to us to see if my girl is recovered and playing.

Now I am confused as well. We never contacted any coaches, just stayed with our club and moved up the ranks.

Coaches from other clubs have a restriction on when they can actively recruit players. But you can talk with them

Also see that AFU 00 Girls withdrew as well..... Might have to do with Gwinnett High School graduations?? Also Final Four is an SAT test administration day.

So the Forsyth team beneath DA will have fewer overall games than this year because they are only doing NPL with a slightly expanded season instead of Classic 1 + 8 game NPL, correct? So my daughter was on the 01 Girls and they played 7 games NPL and about 10 games RPL along with National League Shwocase in Bradenton and North Carolina, and Jefferson Cup in March.

That makes he high school games so much fun hearing the music jamming during pre-game and it does differ from school to school and county to county.

Some teams like the Rams are going to college style/coed squads with more stunting, tumnblling, less grinding and dance moves.

OMG!! I was on the parent side of this in August with my daughter, torn ACL/Meniscus. Hope to be cleared for State Cup after lengthy and awesome PT work. Luckily it was not due to ugly play but a wet field and foot placement. That pacing player would be sitting the next game for poor sportsmanship, what is the deal.

Some of the 1's from the other regions were some of the mercy ruled teams when they played in other regions.

I agree with "guest" above. Especially in Gwinnett's tough regions. But not surprised at their outcomes.

For the last few years, Gwinnett County middle schools have all started soccer clubs. They have now been playing each other on weekends and on March 17, there will be middle school tournament which will hopefully lead to GCPS sanctioning the sport in all middle schools. It has been fantastic!!! Schools are getting sponsorship from local companies and soccer stores for equipment and uniforms. Check out www.thefutbolclassic.com for more information.

As an educator for 24 years, do you think it is the college mindset of our country?? How many of the other nations mentioned stress University for their students they way we do? My parents are from the Caribbean, and it that is not always the path, most get a job out of high school. Also, don't the other countries have high schools devoted to sports training? Just putting those thought out there

Personally considering JV typically only plays 11 or so games, 14 sounds about right.

Unless you are at a soccer powerhouse where every girl is playing high level club, she should make varsity. My daughter was one of 5 fresh,en 2 years ago. They all played club on club Premier teams, not ECNL.

At a GCPS school $350 Varsity, $300 JV. If you bring in a sponsor, that amount deducted from your costs. We do 1 mandatory Coca Cola fundraiser which is easy., and we do the local fast food nights for a donation night. No warm ups, but they do get some nice half zips, socks, extra jersey, etc to keep. County gives no monies to soccer, you have to raise it through the boosters.

Injury was August 21. She may be cleared for June tryouts!! She is just starting to jog, but because it was a meniscus root repair 9 months is average.

I am good friends with the (UFA) 00 coach, and he tried to get the team to forfeit as they had already beaten them 13-0 earlier in the season. Coastal coach insisted on playing. He only took 11 girls to play in Brunswick, no one to sub off.
