I would put ECNL at or above DA for girls. DA does not have enough seasons to claim top spot where ECNL does.

Inter ATL, Smyrna, Cherokee Impact. From Facebook postings: seems they were encouraged by recent meetings in Chicago. They also look to be starting some combined teams for competitive play as "pre-DA". Isn't this the exact same thing they said last year around this time and then nothing happened?

GDA is not comparable top to bottom to ecnl currently. If MLS pulls out of DA then DA will be gone IMO.

Sounds like 2 issues...first no medical tent. This is not acceptable practice. The second, if being reported correctly, poor refereeing leading to injury. If as described, this center needs retraining prior to being able to center again. I know calls will be missed but safety of the players is paramount.

Please take this as no slam on any team or player. I'm thankful there are options for every level player however there simply is a talent difference in leagues. For girls ECNL followed by GDA then the rest. For boys DA followed very closely by ECNL with some age groups top ECNL is same as DA. If an ECNL team has C3 players on it that's a coach and club issue.

I agree but if you read most posts DA is the "top" and every other league is lower.

Indicates DA is not the only league with quality players and coaches. DA for the boys side likely gone if MLS pulls out IMO.

Check the bottom of the email and it will say "powered by" or "sent on behalf" vs. a specific message.
Another clue is if they do not include more than a name with no distinguishing commentary of your players playing style, particular play or "I saw you play at...I was impressed with your...
Those types of statements show they know more than a first name plucked from a roster by a computer.

College coaches rarely come to a high school game. They do go to showcases. Kid played in Florida over Xmas. In 3 games, over 50 different coaches were at the games. Kid received 5 direct emails from coaches as a result. If you get invited by a mass email its probably for making money. Personal invites indicate genuine interest.

I believe they won't get in since they formed their own "independent" league vs. playing RPL or SRPL.

Safe travels and good luck to the boy's ECNL teams playing over the weekend at the Sanford showcase!

Most importantly let the players decide. It should be up to them either way! Parents should stay out of the decision.

Agree. No one wants to go to Columbus. When 95% or more of the teams at state cup from the Metro Atlanta area, this move makes sense. We drove to state cup for years. Glad for this year that the teams won't have to.

DA rule is antiquated. Unless you are getting paid, kids should have say over if, when and where they play. They also understand they take the risk of injury. Period.

I agree that slide tackling or shouldering can be debated one or the other. Having kids jerseys clearly grabbed and pulled down in the box is not. In all 3 instances everyone at the field clearly saw them. The referee was looking at the attacking player each time and signaled for them to get up. Unfortunately failing to call plays like this leads to other issues later in the game because now the players know whose in charge of the game and it's not the ref unfortunately.

Our kid doesn't play DA but in another high level alphabet league. We have 3 coaches at every game. I'd be upset if my kid played on a team that couldn't provide more than 1 coach especially at that "level".

Doesn't matter even in the box. We've had 3 kids pulled down by their jerseys in the box only to have center signal get up.

Great posting on ODP. Our kids experience exactly. This is their junior year and has multiple college coaches inviting to campus. We know two so them at an ODP event.

Kid plays ODP. Only 1 or 2 non big club players in pool that represented Georgia this summer. Most played ECNL. Great program at a reasonable cost. Very pleased but I'm certain that I will get ridiculed by the DA crowd stating how much better there program is. Kid turned DA down. Other kids on team also had DA experience but did not enjoy it.

Parents can share travel. In some instances club will charter buses. Our fees are club fees plus $700 which cover showcase and tourney entry fees and coach travel fees.

Looks like Georgia Soccer may be in trouble IMHO. The number of teams governed is way down. Glad we are almost done.

Unfortunately for the kid it was to late to catch on somewhere else. Kids not playing club after this year. Core group left this year before tryouts because of drama. They are at other top club teams.

Top Hat gets fields that will be next to impossible to get to once the new business is built. Their other fields are county fields. AFU could lose those any time. Agree there are a few players left but the best have been leaving the past few seasons. Top Hat merged with NASA already. Don't see benefit of AFU and their sinking ship IMO.
