It looks like SSA has SCCL teams in several locations. At which location should you tryout to get on SSA’s most competitive SCCL teams? Guessing you’re talking about the top Club level teams? SSA has club level teams out of a Northside, Dekalb and Cobb branches. I know off hand Dekalb has the 04 and 05 boys and Northside has the 03 Boys.

This story isn't about shenanigans but didn't want to start a brand new thread just to let folks know that ECNL is expanding and will be adding another team to the Southeastern Conference. Personally, if it is true that South Carolina Surf does play out of Charleston, I see this as a great opportunity to make a weekend of it. Love me some Charleston... www.soccerwire.com/news/ecnl-boys-accepts-trio-of-new-member-clubs-for-2021-2022-season/Well there’s already the NPL thread about this. Are they adding just SC Surf to the Southeast Conf, or will they move CESA and SC United too??

Pretty good guy, quality coach for the most part. Runs Oconee FC and was the Men’s Club Coach at Uga for a long time. Remember him being pretty invested in Coerver and technical development. Why are they bringing in a new coach now? Thanks-I am wondering the same thing... Who was the coach? Maybe they’re moving?

“ The addition of these three clubs will elevate competition within the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast conferences, respectively.”
Interesting as the South Carolina teams, CESA and SC United are in the Mid Atlantic conferences. With the addition of Surf and Skyline the Mid Atlantic would have 18 teams next year so I wonder if they’re moving those 3 SC teams into the current 11 team Southeast conference with GA, TN, and AL.

So who is doing the said recruiting? I don’t believe coaches can openly go up to other players. If I am U12 at GSA do I go to U12 parents on other teams throughout the spring season and tell them to come to my tryouts? Pretty sure nobody has that kind a pull to tell a family to come to a tryout that they would be given a spot. Nothing stopping a GSA coach from going and openly recruiting a player at Inter Atlanta, or All In FC. Gsa is USClub and the other two are GASoccer and abide by different rules. The split allows for a lot of mid year recruitment.

Can’t confirm but I do know one of the boys ECNL clubs will have new coaches on for their 07 and 08 teams come tryouts.
With all the MLSNext and possible fall of NPL in Atlanta sounds like they’ll be a lot of player movement.

How has moving it up affected your plans? Now more kids are in school while tryouts begin, which is the best thing. Tryouts should be while school is in session. Sure, works if you’re Academy, but not Select. Already made summer vacation plans that would be very difficult to change. Thus the “oh well.” You made “summer” plans for the week of Memorial Day? During what you thought would be Academy/U13 tryouts in the first year of the new version of Sccl based leagues. When there’s going to be more club movement since the age mandate between GAL/DPL/ECNL/NPL drama. Okay…..

That is the way that it has been but this year Memorial Day is not until May 31st. Typically, academy is last week of May, select is first week of June. True, but schools don’t let out any earlier because Memorial Day is later in the month. They still let out the few days before. And in 2016 Memorial Day was just a day before on the 30th and Academy tryouts were held 5/31-6/2 with Select being the week after. It’s just tough to make summer plans when you’ve assumed one way because that’s how it’s traditionally been and then it changes. Oh well. How has moving it up affected your plans? Now more kids are in school while tryouts begin, which is the best thing. Tryouts should be while school is in session.

Not club related but anyone know penalty for a red card? Is high school an2 game penalty. Pretty sure unless it’s extremely serious and taken to the state it’s just the game ejection, and able to return to the next game.

2021: NTH - GA (1st and 2nd teams), DPL (3rd team), SCCL (4th team) SSA - GA (1st team), DPL? (2nd team), SCCL (3rd team) AFC - DPL (1st team?), GA Soccer? (2nd team) Inter Atlanta - NL/GPL (1st team), DPL (2nd team? or will it be an adjunct league for 1st team?) CF - ECNL (1st and 2nd teams), SCCL (3rd team) GSA - ECNL (1st team), SCCL (2nd team) AFU - ECNL (1st team), SCCL (2nd team) UFA - ECNL (1st team), NPL? (2nd team), SCCL (3rd team) Roswell - Is AFC still in NPL next year or are they going all-in on DPL in order to get GA spot. What is Roswell's plan? The 4 ECNL clubs should move to ECRL for 2nd teams, lest their 2nd teams be left behind while the GA/DPL clubs don't consider SCCL a viable option for 2nd teams...so neither should the ECNL clubs. I think that it is like this: TH - GA (1st and 2nd teams), DPL (3rd team), SCCL (4th team) SSA - GA (1st team), DPL (2nd team), SCCL (3rd team) AFC - GA (1st), DPL (2nd), GA Soccer (3rd team) Inter Atlanta - DPL (1st team); GA Soccer (2nd) CF - ECNL (1st and 2nd teams), SCCL (3rd team) GSA - ECNL (1st team), SCCL (2nd team) AFU - ECNL (1st team), SCCL (2nd team) UFA - ECNL (1st team), NPL (2nd team Fowler), SCCL (1st team Norcross) Nasa--ECNL (1st team), SCCL (2nd team) Roswell - SCCL (1st team) Ambush--SCCL (1st team) I fixed it because you can’t think 3rd, 4th teams when it’s really a first team at a different branch. SSA Northside, NTH Milton and AFU South are all just like UFA Norcross. Tophat could also be divided into TH Buckhead and TH East Cobb. TH - GA (1st and 2nd teams), DPL (3rd team), SCCL (4th team or NTH Milton 1st team) SSA - GA (1st team), DPL (2nd team), SCCL (3rd team or SSA Northside 1st team) AFC - GA (1st), DPL (2nd), GA Soccer (3rd team) Inter Atlanta - DPL (1st team); GA Soccer (2nd) CF - ECNL (1st and 2nd teams), SCCL (3rd team) GSA - ECNL (1st team), SCCL (2nd team) AFU - ECNL (1st team), SCCL (2nd team or AFU South 1st team) UFA - ECNL (1st team), NPL (2nd team Fowler), SCCL (1st team Norcross) Nasa--ECNL (1st team), SCCL (2nd team or NTH Milton 1st team) Roswell - SCCL (1st team) Ambush--SCCL (1st team)

ECRL is coming because ECNL wants it. Plus I doubt ECNL give SCCL any choice when they go to AFU, GSA, CF and UFA and tell them they need to send second teams into ECRL or risk losing ECNL. Think NASATophat doesn’t jump at the chance at sending their boys 2nd team and 3rd/4th girls team to ECRL. Imagine SSA having a branch play GAL and one playing ECRL. I know SSA Northside would jump at sending their top teams to ECRL while SSA Blue/Black build those GAL and DPL teams. Don’t think Santos, Ambush, Rush, Inter, Athens, or these other clubs that want a solid spot for their top or second team (to NLP) in ECRL as ECRL applications are open to individual teams, boys or girls, or the entire club. Covid slowed things down but I wouldn’t be surprised if this news drops in April. I seriously doubt that ERCL is going to accept NTH 4th team or SSA's 3rd team. That seems to be a sticking point with both ECNL or ERCL. The nice thing about SCCL-C is that it keeps all of the big local clubs playing each other. It is the only league where it is happening. If ECRL enters Georgia, it will likely be the end of all of the big clubs playing each other in the regular season. The landscape will be divided into GAL clubs and ENCL clubs. UFA, Concorde, GSA, and Atlanta Fire will have their teams in ECNL and ECRL. NTH, SSA, and AFC will have their teams in GAL and DPL. You do realize clubs like Charlotte Independence have two teams in ECRL? So why would they not take their 3rd teams? Especially when SSA and NTH are larger then Charlotte.

is Impact connected with the old Cherokee club? Very hard to keep up... Cherokee County Soccer Association became Cherokee Soccer Association which ran the Redwings and Knights select programs. Then rebranded to become Cherokee Impact and now Georgia Impact. Alex Pama and Shane Moore have been running the club for nearly 20 years.

Your logic is sound except this is America where we let our elitist groups like USSoccer and the NCAA run their pseudo slavery schemes. The NCAA has an argument to restrict scholarship player movement because the schools have paid tuition, room, board, etc for the player and have invested money in the player’s training. Club soccer has no such argument. Everything is being paid for by the parent. You still sign the same paperwork that says they do though. Don’t like it, don’t play.

In my opinion, as a parent, you can reach out to a club any time you please. Clubs are a paid service provider. Just like AT&T cannot prevent you from calling Comcast or Verizon, a club cannot restrict you from talking to another club. I pay a club (alot of money) to train my kid and provide games for them to play in. Unless you are playing for free at Atlanta United or on a scholarship at club, the clubs do not have an ownership interest in my child. As long as I fulfill my financial obligation to the club, I can reach out to any club I want at any time. Your logic is sound except this is America where we let our elitist groups like USSoccer and the NCAA run their pseudo slavery schemes.

Anything to be made of the fact that Laszlo Halmi, who currently has 2 ENCL teams, is not on the list of coaches? I think with him taking over the USL Boys Academy team it was too much of a conflict.

Didn’t Winter sports get a two week delay to starting due to Covid, so they’re 2 weeks behind normal.
Yes high school sports have been adding more and more games ($$$) to their schedules the last 20 years so playoffs run into other seasons. Ten month school year can only be split into football (5 months), basketball (3 months) and everything else ( 2 months).

Florida soccer is going full speed ahead now if it were Disneyland that would be a different story. Directly answering your question I have no idea but would be shocked if it were canceled. Agree-our club will play next weekend in Destin. For Battle by the Beach? Would love to hear how that goes for you all. Destin and the gulf have been on that list of possible tournaments. Lots of great teams and different competition down there.

No I watch, I just don’t watch crap teams. #CTID please read into the sarcasm, or go away…. My apologies I didn't catch that, usually sarcasm has some form of truth to it. All truth in it. United is a crap team and doubt they finish in the top five. Plus Pogba is still regretting the move back. He’s just counting his days til this summers transfer window.

This is quoted from the SCCL website and came out back in January. “The SCCL, a leading youth soccer league in Georgia, is excited to announce the creation of the Super Club which will compete in the SCCL Club based division starting in the fall of 2021. The winner of each SCCL Premier 1 male and female U13-U17 leagues will be promoted to the Super Club to compete in the highest level of the SCCL in the SCCL Club division (U14-U18) next fall. Reflecting the growth and increasing strength of the SCCL platform we feel the additional promotion based on performance will enhance the development of the league and its players. The results from the Fall 2020 season will be used to form the Super Club in ages U13-U18 for the Fall 2021 season. With the addition of the newly formed program, clubs will be able to manage a pathway for their players to compete at the highest level of the SCCL.” southeasternccl.com/sccl-announces-the-creation-of-a-new-club-based-opportunity/

I'm starting to see an increase in ACL injuries amongst our female soccer players and I'm wondering if there is really an opportunity through PT to prevent them. In the past month I've personally known at least 6 girls in varying age groups from U12 to u17 who has suffered a tear not only with their ACL but MCL as well. Would love to get some thoughts from parents or coaches if there is any real way to train to prevent these. It hurts me to hear about these injuries especially during a crucial year and there has to be something that could help to prevent them. I know that many of these injuries have happened during HS soccer games which is why DA prohibited them in the past but why is it more prevalent during the high school games? From my experience the reason I’ve seen and heard so many happening in Hs games and practices is due to bad coaching. So many Hs “coaches” want to work the players for 2+ hours everyday and often don’t build in quality stretching and proper warmups. All of this typically after long and intense club seasons. If the Hs coach isn’t spending at least 30 minutes on stretching and proper warmup then you’re just asking for injuries. Add in those coaches don’t plan appropriate recovery sessions for the days after games, or give players proper recovery time off to allow their bodies to rest. GHSA and Hs sports should really look to limit the amount of hours students are allowed to spend on sports each week like the ncaa does. Something like 7 hours max per week which would include the 2 hours for each game they dress for.

yet they are still paying Guzan big money when it comes to mls dollors. Is he worth 7 to 8 times that of Kann? Have said this since the first day they brought in the bald headed butterfingers. Alec is equal if not better quality and considerably cheaper. Plus as a hometown hero had more potential selling jerseys / whatnot if they gave him the #1.

AFC Lightning will also have their second teams in DPL in the Fall and will not have NPL teams.. The current NPL teams (top) will be in the GA going forward and the second teams will do DPL.. The age groups that have 3rd or 4th teams will stay in Georgia Soccer.. Hope they are able to recruit some players or I fear their top 2 teams in most age groups will have a rough go of it..time will tell... WAIT WHAT? SSA won't be in NPL AFC won't be in NPL SO ... Where is UFA sending their NPL teams? Alabama and Tennessee, with possibly some new Carolina clubs too. Or they’ll be combine with Northern FL. I know those UFA parents are demanding to spend money like ECNL parents so by playing in FL every other weekend.
