In addition to that clearly abusive and inappropriate comment from that one coach, there are many kids that don’t like it anymore because they are tired of always being yelled at by the coaches and their teammates. They love to play casually but don’t want the politics and internal games that coaches and players play. Another girl I know is planning to quit a high level team and form a rec team with her friends so they can play but not commit all of their weekends and social life to soccer but also so they can coach themselves. A novel idea. Kind of like playing in the park or on the streets in these other nations where they just enjoy the game. I wonder if they can enter tournaments. That would be fun to watch. The literal same thing as CLUB SOCCER in college which I wish more players would recognize as an actual respectable way to continue to play the sport they love!

“Today we are thrilled to announce the initial markets bringing professional women's soccer closer to home in the USA. Kicking off in Aug 2024, we intend to launch as a First Division league, reflecting our commitment to the highest standards in American soccer.” Thank Goodness. I was getting worried we might not get a new league to talk about. And they gave us a 15 month notice that it’s coming! Props for a two year roll out with clubs in 24 and 25. Disappointment that ATL isn’t a market in year 1 or 2? On a serious note I am curious to see how it will bridge from youth to pro and how that might differ from UWS and WPSL “ Welcome to a different league: The USL Super League. Built for the future of women’s soccer. Bridging the journey from youth to pro, connected to the global game, and bringing professional women’s soccer closer to home.

Wow, I didn't realize how many people have had this experience. It is sad to hear that this is the culture at UFA. Why would anyone pay to put their child in this environment? To be fair this is NOT exclusive to (UFA) it’s happened at AFU and GSA and CF and SSA and on and on and on Also this is not a CLUB CULTURE it’s also a COACHING dynamic some coaches egos just get hurt that you would gasp look for a different option for any of the myriad of reasons people have already listened

What's the deal with UFA threatening players who go to other ECNL or club ID Sessions? All I hear is how players are scared because they may get dropped, especially on the girls side. Just wondering what everyone's experiences are and how can we fix this as parents? Yes this happens although our experience was with the ECRL coach not ECNL but definitely “threats” made about players being dropped and calls made directly to players from coach to make a decision immediately or the player would be dropped. No idea how to fix it. We have had team meetings with Club Directors in prior years with no changes to the outcome.

Has anyone seen any type of announcement of who will actually be in E64 for the 23-24 season? I know Concorde is dropping it on the boys side. I think SSA is dropping it on the boys side. UFA appears to be keeping it on both the boys and girls side. It seemed like it was destined to dissolve in the southeast.
My child is only his / her age once. There is no time to be playing around in these startup leagues that replicate leagues that are already established. Fragmenting the youth soccer pyramid is making it worse, not better. Someone put E64 out of its misery now.
Yup! My kid was only that age once too: Nope sorry she was that age 10 times Club Merger (BTDT - got the shirt) Age Mandate (ah the good ole days) New League (DA) Ha just kidding (DA - Dissolved) Tophat to the rescue New League (GA) Wait what’s that we can just create leagues? Big six says watch this (SCCL) Whoa slow your roll people we can add second tiers (ECRL) (DPL) USYS? Wait second tiers are allowed (E64) Hey you know what else is fun … Throw in some beloved great coaches who leave mid season !!! The ONLY thing in youth soccer that won’t change … is CHANGE it will ALWAYS change … but if your kid loves the beautiful game you just sit down buckle up and get ready for the ride.

That email from UFA is kind of crazy, considering the crapfest that Elite 64 is. UFA is going to have to do a lot more than provide standings. My kid could lose every match this upcoming season, and she would stay at AFU a) because her team is phenomenal (on and off the field) and b) I will never have to worry about any of the AFU coaches sending out an email like that. Yikes. Oh Dabe don’t be so naive you know better 😂 There isn’t a club out there that is trustworthy including AFU. As you said in an earlier post sometimes we just don’t air the dirty laundry out to dry for all to see EVEN IF THEY DESERVE IT but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t stink! 😂 #IYKYK and if you don’t you wouldn’t believe it anyway.

Anyone recommend a good online 30 hour course. My older kids did the course in person, but looking for a solid online version instead. The ga drivers page has a huge list that is a little difficult to navigate. Depending on the teen learning style …. But I am looking at this one ! www.myimprov.com/drivers-education/georgia/

It’s a free online course about drug and alcohol awareness through dds if your schools health class or drivers ed course did not already provide the course and a certificate of completion. (not your learner’s permit, but your regular driver’s license.) • You must pass to get your certificate, which you will be required to turn in before the Dept of Driver Services will allow you to take your driver’s test. • This course is free! • This course is Online! • The course is approximately 4 hours long. ADAP INSTRUCTIONS 1. Go to www.dds.ga.gov2. Go to the second tab called “Driver’s info”, then look under the tab called “Training” and click “eADAP”. 3. Click “Student Registration” (on the far left) and then click “continue”. 4. Fill out the form to enroll (check the box that says “My school does not offer ADAP” 5. AFTER you fill out the form, click “SAVE” at the bottom. In most cases, it takes 10 minutes, and you will get an email with your username and password in it. (check your “spam folder” if you don’t see the email.) 6. Follow the instructions in that email on how to take the class. 7. The class must be completed within 30 days after filling out the above form. ADAP – ADDITIONAL INFO • If you have questions, you can click the “FAQ” tab on the website and then click “eADAP” Or you can email your question to: eadapsupport@dds.ga.gov • If you do not pass the course, you are allowed to take the course again, but you will have to re-register and start the whole process from the beginning. • If you pass the final exam, you have to print out your certificate. • IMPORTANT REMINDER: You MUST follow every direction they give you in the email you get after you enroll OR you might not pass!!! E64 clarification
The ten months is an open window that teams have to compete in. The purpose of having 10 months is so that teams can schedule either in fall if they have spring high school soccer or in spring if they have fall high school soccer or if clubs use E64 as a showcase league they can schedule around a supplemental league.
In Georgia every club has indicated that they will schedule league games in fall.
The E64 also includes national showcases similar to DPL
SCCL has no national league showcases
Tell us what age/gender and we can give you a pretty good idea of where you will be traveling locally, regionally or nationally in each league.

Wins and losses does not equal competitive. Out of the age groups you listed, all of the teams except for one have a goal differential of 16 or less. Over a 22 game schedule, a less than 1 goal per game differential is competitive. Thank YOU a mighty dawg!!!! Excellent facts and reasoning, I concur LOL this message approved by Green Monkeys everywhere

AFU Current Standing, does this really look like an ECNL Club as these results are very similar to past seasons: U17: 10th place with 3 wins, 11 losses, 8 ties U16: 12th place with 3 wins, 18 losses, 1 tie U15: 10th place with 4 wins, 14 losses, 4 ties U14: 10th place with 3 wins, 8 losses, 9 ties. That’s a total of 13 wins total combined for AFU. multiple gsa and ufa Ecnl teams have that many wins in 1 age group. I knew they weren’t that good but those results are kind of shocking. Maybe a move to USYS would be a good thing WHY?!!! Do we not understand that every game has a WINNER AND A LOSER ?!!! It’s a sport it’s why they play the game?!!!!! Move to another league so they can what? Win more games?!!! Not taking this out on you football queen this is not personal I just don’t understand why so many soccer parents care about win loss MORE than is there a great coach, is my kid learning and growing as a player and a human, is there the ability to play at WHATEVER level the kid needs to play at and is there a way to stretch and grow to the next level? How does AFU ECNL moving to a different league change anything that is already going well for the club? They have lots of good coaches (and some bad like every club) They have some great players (and some that will only every play one season of rec - like all clubs). They have good field access (some have better and some have much much much worse) They have players going on to play in college (like every other club) and MORE that DO NOT play in college … repeat with me LIKE EVERY OTHER CLUB. I am open and fair if someone can please tell me the benefit to players and teams and the club in why they should leave ECNL I will be glad to listen.

Ummm crazzzzzzy for soccer … That logic is absolutely crazy LOL
and is exactly why youth soccer sucks.
Logic = teams aren’t competitive or “elite” enough = not winning enough games
Solution= create more leagues so more teams are more competitive = I mean so more teams win more games.
Development does not equal winning games Competitive does not equal winning games
I understand what people are trying to say is no one benefits from 10-0 games on either side of that score but without a deep dive on every age group boys and girls ..: is AFU losing every game 10-0
OK then
Can a club move each player to each players own next level? If yes then THAT is player development?
What goes on day to day on and off the training field matters more HOW players play the game matters more
Trust me my kid has lost more games than won in 10 years of playing soccer so should they just quit playing because they are not “competitive enough”
What’s that Babe Ruth statistic
Ruth hit 714 home runs and struck out 1,330 times.
Struck out twice as much as he hit home runs
Stick him back in AAA Ball
Rant over
LOL
So, do you mean UFA... atleast on the girls side. They do all of the above!
If you are lucky enough to have had Gil or Alan at Forsyth or Alex and Sam at Norcross ABSOLUTELY but there are just as many coaches at UFA that do not. I think the point is why must we be “lucky enough” to get a coach that makes this a priority versus it being a club or coaching standard?
I think regardless of club (not just UFA, I know parents and players all over the the clubs and playing levels CF, TH, GSA, AFU, SSA and in states OH, MI, WI, NC, SC, FL, CA, AZ) every league or playing level it’s the inconsistency of evaluations AND both individual and team development plans that is frustrating for too many parents and players.

Someone was looking for TOCA off of 85. TOCA Perimeter in Norcross is right off 85. Some really good trainers. I would recommend Khai Celestin for boys or girls. He works them hard, helps build their confidence, and will teach them how to be a more technical and creative soccer players. A former professional player that also played in Europe and South America and brings some of what he learned from soccer around the world to his teachings. Where else can you get 350-400 touches in an hour? In Google maps it says TOCA Norcross is temporarily closed. Do you know if that’s correct or not? I think they are referring to TOCA at DBat it’s half baseball on one side and TOCA on the other. Second recommendation for coach Kai as well

At what point are people going to understand that all these leagues are only diluting the talent so no one knows where the teams rank and it's all done to allow "soccer people" to bilk the uninformed and gullible parent. Oh I’m pretty confident many of us are at that point right now LOL

Well many on here know me as their team manager or as a team manager or maybe just as a parent!
And most would call me zealous LOL
Most team managers have taken HOURS of player safety classes (First Aid/AED, Concussion Awareness RTP protocols, Sexual Abuse Awareness and Prevention to name a few) and REPEATED/RENEWED EVERY YEAR!
Let’s add that we give our social security numbers to clubs for background and security checks. Set up multiple login credentials AND a conservative estimate is FRONTED TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars over a few years in tournament fees, coaching fees, Hotel Room Blocks (ever tried to get 20 affordable hotel rooms in a decent hotel 10 minutes from the field with a variety of dining options) and Team Dinners las a TM.
And every TM I know is MORE than willing to do so.
I have sent my share of “lengthy emails that detail my expectations of parents” usually that you PAY ME BACK using MY preferred method of payment or BOOK YOUR HOTEL ROOM ON TIME or when I ask for Player Waivers TO BE SIGNED ON TIME
and someone mentioned above lots of other emails from the TM come from Club. Don’t park here Don’t abuse the refs and those usually come to me as “Team Managers please remind your parents that … “
We as regular parents are over committed and over communicated to already with schools work and extra curricular emails it’s great when the players get old enough we can funnel communications in that direction but still need to make sure the parents get all the info.
As for who is staying and who if going and who gets more or less playing time. No team manager knows any of that for certain and there is not a single parent (regardless of team manager or not) who doesn’t have an opinion about it though LOL Some of us are just better at keeping our mouths shut than others !!! (We also have opinions about Coaches, Clubs, and Leagues too LOL But doesn’t mean we have inside info OR that our kids get preferential treatment)
So to the OP … IF you really are willing to be a TM tell the coach at the end of the season. Hell tell the TM … That crazy zealot might just LOVE the fact someone else asked and wants the job (That’s how I got my “job” in the first place the old TM said “thank god yup it’s yours” and both prior team managers stayed with the team for years after) and it’s how this is my last year and I get to pass it on to the next crazy over zealous team manager who can take their turn giving back their time money hours dollars sweat love dedication and determination
Apologies if I am the Zealot and Wishing you well when you take over your kids team and if you ever need any help let us know! Lots of TMs on the forum will be glad to assist!!!

I have found that when shooting the shizzill with other out of are soccer parents we all agree that no matter where we play is that
“The adults in charge” have done a pretty spectacular job in making sure youth soccer is crazy!
Usually the conversation starts NOT with what Club do you play for because let’s face it what we really want to know when we ask that question is … What league is your club or team in.
We all relate to new league creations, expansions, and closures.
and of course it’s great to hear their horror stories of age mandates, club mergers, club directors, coach, team managers, and sideline parents so you can feel better about your own kids journey LOL

Well said! The truly top players are likely not going to be interested. And the rest of us don’t really have a choice After the top two or three teams in town the rest of us just have kids who tryout for a team at a club that picks the coach and a league for you … Most kids are just trying to play some meaningful soccer games that are equally matched while being coached by a quality coach with kids their age who love the sport as much as they do!
