All facts and smart features aside, it is a joke for any building that replaced a perfectly good twenty year old building to claim a sustainability award. I’d also like to see the solar power claim substantiated because I think that’s an impossible claim. Rather have a new MBS than the Braves needing a new stadium under the guise of "white flight"

2. You really think it is an “eye sore?” I think it is a pretty awesome structure. To each his own I guess. "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed." It seriously looks like a death star, a bit of a monstrosity from the outside. That monstrosity is the most energy efficient stadium in the US, if not the world. There are 4000 solar panels on the Silver Deck, which one days energy is enough to power the entire stadium for a game.

Well Gregg's brother Jay Berhalter is the COO of US Soccer so I'm sure that helps. Honestly I'm tired of the retread MLS coach pipeline. Meanwhile Tata Martino will be coaching Mexico our main rival.

The Atlanta market is already too saturated with pro and semi pro soccer teams, between AU, AU2, GA Revolution, etc I don't think adding another team would be viable. From what I understand this new venture would be akin to 5th division soccer....below the GA Revolution. Honestly I would rather have a pro indoor team (which I believe Graham Tutt is still working on) or a full women's team with the backing of Mr Blank.

Interesting. Any idea if that means GA soccer reversed its position on the SCCL clubs altogether or is it something specific to this team? The email came directly from GA Soccer so I don't know if that means they are changing their initial stance across the board.

From what I understand they will be in Athena A again, there's a SCCL team above them.

Which is why there needs to be a unified system from USSF/USCS/USYS/GA soccer. Break the Tophat stranglehold on the state. If they hate competition they can stick to expanding SCCL. Care to elaborate on your comments? Do you think NTH gets favorable placements from GA Soccer?

ECNL (US Club) players haven’t been allowed to play State Cup for years. But there are loopholes around that.... And no they didn’t close those loopholes. And of course it’s back in Columbus, Ga. Ga Soccer has already confirmed their hotel rooms down there for staff and refs. Why in the world would it be put back in Columbus?!?! Last year was pulled off finding facilities in 3-4 days around Metro and had more positive comments about the State Cup than all years prior because it served the paying customers where they are! How tone deaf if this group at GA Soccer? Or what is pulling the strings to have it at Columbus? If the games are local that means no hotel rooms and no potential kickback revenue for the host 🤔

Seems so much smaller than even the rumored size Looking at it tonight, the penalty area is 44 yards wide, the 10 yard corner hash mark was about 1 yard from the 18 yard box and then add 10 yards from the hash mark to the corner. That's 66 yards for the width of the field.

You can look up most DOC's salaries on Guidestar.
At most clubs the higher level coaches typically make more

Most DOC's at the top clubs make 100k+ a year which may or may not include camp revenue.

So DA is the pipeline to the USYNT, Olympic Team and the USMNT, none of those have won a championship just like the Harvard Mens Team so I think it's a great analogy 🤣

Anyone think the Tata announcement was bad timing, especially before such a massive game? The players have to play but the timing could have been better. Most other sports they may fire a coach midseason but rarely if ever announce the coach is electing not to come back prior to season's end.

UGA is a good school but academically not as strong as Stanford, Vandy, Duke, etc. I think they have good enough players that for whatever reason are performing up to their capabilities. I know RG and KB from their time at TH, I worked with MB in high school, you don't set the high school career goal scoring record and be the SE region ECNL top scorer without some level of ability and she can't get on the field which is puzzling. Mollie Belisle tore her ACL during pre-season. She was playing very well and was very much in the plans for this year prior to being injured. Thank you for the update- that's terrible news, did not know she was injured.

I think you have a typo and meant to say AREN'T performing up to their capabilities??? They do have some good players (and I agree that the keeper looks very strong so far). RG was recruited by plenty of schools and committed to Florida originally. She looks good and got honorable mention as Topdrawer soccer team of the week a few weeks ago. I think it is coaching more than recruiting, but that is just me. I disagree with Zizou that if they aren't SEC material when they get there that they won't ever be. That implies that you stop developing when you graduate from high school. This isn't true. You can get better at any age (even an old person like myself). Now if they are too slow maybe there is a limit on how much faster they might be able to run, ok THAT may be true. I think a great coach could make that team into a NCAA tournament team. BTW I am completely NOT a UGA fan so I am happy for them to flounder, so this is not a biased view. Correct- typo on my part which I fixed. I agree 100% that the current roster can be competitive, I think it's a coaching issue.

I know this is controversial but I think if Georgia Tech started a women's program, hired a strong coach and financially backed the program I think they would be able to surpass UGA within 10 years and attract better talent.
